I put Android 2.2 on the Phone and everything worked fine for a couple of days then it shut off and would not turn back on. If I plug it into the USB I can get it to reboot but it just keept rebooting to the Dark Forces screen
I flashed it back to Windows 6.5 and it still just keeps rebooting to the HTC screen
Any suggestions for how I fix this?
Bent battery pin?
Wow, that was exactly the problem
thanks
Hehe, it happens a lot.
If a hd2 is in reboot loop, battery pins should be the first check.
it is a perfect information... i catched it.. good luck.

My blackstone was running Miri Rev.10 rom just fine for about 2 weeks and it suddenly turned off itself. I thought the battery is flat so I recharge, but as soon as i plug the power in, it automatically reboots and keeps rebooting at "smart mobility" screen.
Hard reset several times doesnt help. I used USPL and loaded RUU_BlackStone_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.59.707.0_Radio_52.62 .25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship rom, the upgrade process went normal, smooth, but when it finished, the device keeps rebooting at smart mobility screen again.
Please help identifying the issue and solutions.
Thanks

I've heard of this happening to a few people and in both circumstances it was do to power off button being slightly push in causing phone to constantly turn off.

There was one post about a Tytn II having the same problem, but there was no solution for it.
I guess its a HW issue then. Thanx
Hi ,
I had the same problem .. I always thought it's the battery dead empty but it's not, my symptoms were :
- could not start it without power plugged in
- with power plugged in it kept rebooting
What I did twice already was to take out the battery .... leave it for 10-15 minutes and put it back and worked.
Regards,
Robert
i have a MAJOR problem!
i was using my phone (RAFDROID) like any other day, nothing special... usually when my battery gets low, like 25% or less, it gets slower, like really slow, but then i just shut it down and put the other battery in, and its fine.
not today... today, it got down to like 22%, so i decided to put my other battery in, well i tried to unlock my phone, and i could get the screen to turn on by pressing a button, but couldnt unlock it, like the screen was unresponsive. i plugged it in, same problem, screen turned on, but was unresponsive, i had no choice but to take the battery out without shutting it down. i put a fully charged battey in, and turned the phone on, it booted into JMZ dual boot like normal, then i tried to click the button to use win mo, nothing... same for android, screen was still unresponsive!
i tried plugging it into the computer, takeing the sd card out, and restarting it 4 times, nothing is working, my phone is not working! what could the problem be? i need to get this fixed ASAP, until then i am completely with out a phone, please help asap! PLEASE!!!!

The only thing I can recommend is getting a new digitizer installed. Hope this helps.
When I turn off the phone, it vibrates to let me know it is off, and then it waits two seconds or so then turns itself back on.
I have done hard reset after hard reset, put the latest KE8 on and it still does it. Could it be a battery fault?
Do you have Advanced Power Menu installed?
Nope. It is now not letting me switch it on unless plugged into the charger.
If I switch it on away from the charger, it shows me a battery on the screen with a flickering yellow warning triangle with a thermometer next to it.
Any thoughts?
sorry to hear that!
i've had this problem about one or two months ago, after i flashed a new rom (can'r remember which one, was it lightning?). did almost everything i could
imagine (flashed other recovery, kernel, modem) and nothing helped. also a
complete fresh install (wipe everything before) didn't solve this!
the only thing which worked for me was to go back to my old rom. after that
everything was fine again!
so, i cannot say what causes this, but if you flash another rom it should work again! if not, try to repartition with odin, using one of the provided PIT files!
yep also had this problem when i first flashed cognition. my phone would reboot after turning it off. and if the battery went dead, when i plugged it into charge it would turn itself on instead of going to the battery charging screen. all i did was reflash the rom and all was fine.
This morning I updated to Android 2.3.4.
If I root like this:
http://androidflip.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s2-android-234-xxkg1-firmware/
Will it help do you think?
Just to update, it seems to be resolved now using this:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-xxkg1-android-2-3-4-firmware-rom-on-galaxy-s2/
Thanks for your help guys!
And now its doing it again lol
I can live with it, but a couple of things like it thinking there is a USB cable connected seem to happen every now and again...?
hmm thats the same way as i did it but i didnt do the yellow triangle trick so im not sure about that. everything else is standard, thats how i flashed my rom and i only had your problem the first time i flashed. did you do the yellow triangle removal?
I did the remove triangle thing yea.
I do think it is a problem with the USB connector, it could be touching itself inside, possibly causing a shortage as it occasionally thinks a USB cable is connected.
So, if I turn off, it could be thinking that the charger has initiated connection and starts up to charge, but can't charge so just continues to boot.
I have plugged the usb cable in and with nothing at the other end, and nothing pops up. So it could be something like what I suggest. It has been ok for an hour or so now so fingers crossed lol!
lol that cud be it then. it wud make sence. might wanna get that looked at tho if you dont wanna risk damaging the phone. if its doing what you said, then it cud end up killing the phone if it shorts it out permantly. let me know how its going in a day or so.
Even on lock screen if you press and hold the power button for 8 seconds the phone does shut off, is it happening for ya?
I had this a few weeks back. Reflashing cf root kernel fixed mine.

Likewise, solved my problems with the phone rebooting itself instead of turning off.
Hi good day, im a newbie here. I have problem with my LG Optimus 7 E900 Windows Phone 7.5, its just stuck on boot logo. The problem started last week, i was sleeping and i woke up because my pillow is kinda hot and then i found out it was my phone. It was hotter than the usual and it was not even plugged in to a charger, it was also stuck to the LG boot logo screen. I tried to unlugged the battery since i cant turn it off, waited for 3 -5 minutes and plugged it back in - still the same. I tried to do the Cold Boot, by holding the Volume - and Camera and tapping the Power button but nothing is happening, it just says Cold Boot and wont do anything. I tried to do the Restore, by holding the Camera button and tapping the Power and i got the screen that shows it needs to be connected to the computer. I've connected it to the computer and Zune automatically detected it and says the phone needs to be restored. For few minutes the restoration was complete and the phone started to turn on again. I was very happy but then, the problem starts again, the phone just turn off and stuck on the boot logo. I've unplugged the battery, after half a day i plugged it back in and the phone turned on. I reset the phone because i thought that it could theres no memory left but after few minutes, it happened again. So my phone is now useless, it will turn on for 10 to 30 minutes if i unplugged the battery for 3 to 5 hours. Is this a software or hardware issue??? I am really wondering why and Im kinda frustrated about LG or WP7 already.
If anyone out there can help me i would really appreciate it. If you have the same problem, lets help each other so that we can have our phone working again. Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
please help
This is hardware problem. You have to buy this board:
You can buy New SIM Card Micro-HD Flex Cable for LG E900 Optimus 7 from ebay.com, sefelectronics.com or mobile-cherry.com.
I recommend to buy it from mobile-cherry.com. It 100% works!

Hi sir, thanks for your reply. after two weeks, my phone starts working again. its been two days now and still working fine. what happened is that i tried to charge it when it was off, after 30 mins or so i turned it on and it works. but i noticed and smelled burnt plastic. i stick my noise on the micro usb part and its really smells something is burning inside but the phone is still turned on. i took off the back cover and i felt that the upper is hot and the battery seems to be ok.
i guess my concern is, is it okey to use this still? im afraid that it might explode or something while on my pocket. what would you suggest?
thank you very much!, i really appreciate it.
I solved this problem by disabling the detection of the position in the menu settings. You should have a lot of patience in being able to restart it at least once to enter the menu, possibly leaving it off and without battery for a whole night.
Let me explain what happened: I was using the phone as normal, but suddenly it started to reboot itself, and with every reboot it was losing some battery until the point it lost all the energy, and now when I try to charge it, the only thing I get is the battery animation starting and suddenly disappearing, like a bootloop. Same situation when I try to boot into Safe Mode or Recovery Mode. But I was able to boot into download mode, so I tried to flash the stock firmware again both through Smart Switch and ODIN, but I got the same results. And also, this only happens if I have the phone connected to the PC or the charger. If I try to turn it on while disconnected, it doesn't do anything. What can I do???
Update: Well, now it reaches the Samsung logo but it get stuck in a bootloop. I 'm also able to boot to the recovery, but I'm not really sure of what can I do from there
I'm having similar issues!
Upon further investigation, I discovered some pocket lint stuffed in the bottom of the MicroUSB-port. A toothpick was enough to get it out. Still having issues with "mmc_read" failure, booting and long response times, but at least it charges reliably now. Will flash updated recovery/kernel/ROM as it has been a while - fingers crossed this will help.
I'm thinking the root cause of our issues might be different, but check your USB-port if you haven't already.
For my next phone I will consider integrated port covers, like the Xperia series.
I bid you good luck fixing your problem. Would'nt mind knowing what the root cause of your problem is if you find out.
The phone is alive again! The problem was the battery, I just replaced it and the phone booted as normal

Thanks for the update. Just out of curiosity. Was the bad battery a little bit puffy. On my note 3 I could tell by feeling and looking at it from the edge. Battery going bad starts to Puff up in the middle.
