oh you mean you want to download the filename.apk and install it yourself right?
by using titanium backup,it works very much like. You can install every application that you backup one by one same as you do with the apk files but the downside is you still dont have the .apk files.
you woudl have to save the apk files to your pc fromthe phone, you cannot download from the market directly to your pc

Open market, go to downloads.
I can't think of any other reason for knowing the location other than to steal apps, and if that's your intention you are asking on the wrong boards.
If you download Root Explorer on the market you can search your phone for installed apps, I'm sure you can figure it out from there, and I will leave it at that.
Good day sir.
Edit: There are plenty of backup apps that can backup your apps for you if that is your goal. I hear Titanium Backup is a good one.
got it man.. Thanks
hey guys
does anyone know how i can manually install the back up and restore app, im running a custom ROM that does not have it, i downloaded it from m.sonyericsson.com/backup

Try under Settings, Applications - check Unknown Sources, under Development check Allow mock.
Can also try Sideload Wonder Machine.
My AT&T had locked out non Market apps, took some time to get right combination.
try installing via PC using ADB command in cmd.

It seems to me, MyPhoneExplorer can do both things - I mean backup/restore and app install.

Maybe - it depends on the backup structure. Never tried complete backup, but it allows to chose its own format or vCard or vCalendar formats. So - possible, but I doubt, since it creates an image of whole phone file system - system and user data both.
I think, you can try a trick - to restore original backup/restore package by MyPhoneExplorer and then restore what you need from the backup you have. Original programs you can find in special thread 2.1 System Apps - In Case You've Deleted Them... or just try to download through your phone browser the newest original version of backup/restore from m.sonyericsson.com/backup.

if they're installed to /data/app which most market apps are, then i think nope, but you should be rooted as it makes it easier to use adb and do stuff with it, and yeah you can transfer whatever apps are on your phone, whether you paid for them or not is none of my business anyway.
You can also use titanium backup, appmonster or mybackup to backup your apps to sd card, and just copy them to your computer.
install exuninstall and make a backup of your apps, then the apks will be on your sdcard so just copy them to the pc, cheers
I use astro file manager to back up the installed apps, the backed-up apps are stored in your sd card/backup/apps, from there you can copy the apps in your pc.
There is an app you can use, look for appSaver in the market.

Guys is it possible to get the .apk files of apps downloaded from google play.....
As i need such thing damn seriously....
So frnds plz rep as soon as possible....
Download "App Backup & Restore App" From Google Play And Backup All Apps To Your Sdcard And Check The Backup Folder ..All Installed Apk Files Will Be Seen..Or
Check /data/app For Apps Installed In Internal Memory And
check /mnt/asec For Apps That Are Installed In SD Card..
Easy Way To Check These Folders Is To Download "Root Explorer" From Google Play..
thnks for the rep frnd.....
So did i need to root my device to have such thing?????
To Use Root Explorer You Need To Root Your Device..But Rooting Is Not Required For "App Backup & Restore" App...Hit Thanx
ok ok....
Thanks a lot lot lot dude....
try this Save Master
no root required!
You can also use apk extractor. It's in the play store. No need to root.

So, I want to run app backup and restore and am trying to copy my backup folder to my PC. Yet, when I go to my device on my PC using windows explorer, I find no such folder. I have show all hidden folders etc set on windows 7. I go on my device under storage and I can see the data is in the folder and I can't figuere out what to do next. I tried another program but, they all seem to use that folder. I also tried to change the folder and it wouldn't work (cannot create folder).
thanks:good:
I would even take suggestions for a program that allows you to backup straight to your pc.
