Hi readers.
I've got a weird update method for the Android Market. The Android Market version on my phone was 3.2.0 before the v3.3.11 update. I didn't know there was an update for Android Market until I went to the Application Information of Android Market, I forced closed it, cleared its data and cache. I opened the Android Market app and realized it looked different from before, I went to the Settings of Android Market and saw the version was updated from 3.2.0 to 3.3.11.
I cleared the data of Android Market was to solve the problem of missing downloaded apps on 'My apps' section, this method definitely works for me.
I just want to share my experience with all of you, and hope this method works for u guys if u have problems updating the Android Market on your phone.
What ROM and Kernel I am using, you can find it on my signature.
Thanks for reading. =)
I have old market and killed updater....new ones are toooo laggy ;]
This update is much faster than previous ones, u may want to try it. Before you try this, you may want to backup your old Android Market by using Titanium Backup(I highly recommend this app) or other apps that can backup and restore apps.
There's one bad thing about the New Android Market, it is not able to download multiple apps at the same time, but the Old Android Market is able to.

Well... I stay on old one

I'm really irritated by the fact, that when I install a new android version, that I always have to install all my apps app by app.
It might sound like a logic and stupid solution, but in the Android map, there's a submap called AndroidApps(or Android Apps).
Put all your apps you want to have on your new android version, and you have them back with first start!
Let me know if it works with all the android version. For the Mdeejay Desire Z 1.1 version it worked!
And excuse me for my bad English, still learning!
I already know that, and yes that will work. But i use titanium backup for that, because it also backups the system settings for the apps. So you do not have to configure them again

mybackup pro also works very well and is a lot easier for begginers than titanuim backup.
but tb is a brilliant backup app and works very well for me
Ok, so where do you get these apps again? Are they apps?
On the market, they are not free, but it is every penny worth of it.

Yes, As I said you can download your apps from another site so you have the apk's. And then put it in the folder.
I recently upgraded my Android build from MDeejay's HD v3.4 to 3.6 and left all folders on the SD card from the previous build, just replacing the Android folder and all my apps restored themselves once I opened the Market. First time I've left all the program folders on when changing versions but will be doing this going forward as found titanium backup can corrupt some versions and isn't recommended with some. Takes 2mins to re-sign in to apps.
Titanium backup free works for me, but I believe if you keep the data.img when you change Roms (a new one is created on first boot), all your apps and settings will carry across.
Worked for me.
Hi,
I installed CM 7 Nightly 103 and it came without Market App. I installed Market App from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831782
Symp.Green.market.v7.2.2.zip
Flashed it and restarted . It is not visible under All application and secondly Faq 4 mentions on the thread to purge all data.
Even that option is not there. Help me out guys
Flash GApps Package. Not the Patched Market since it doesn't work anymore:

I think, but I'm not sure, that you will have to install "Google app something", abreviated as "GAPs" to get the google applications working under CM. Normaly you can find it in the first post of CM7.
Hope this helps
Erwin.
EDIT: Damn you, 3xeno ;-)
Hi to all and thanks for your time.
Tomorrow I'll receive by mail one Archos 10.1 tablet with operating system Froyo 2.2.1.
If i install Google Market with gAppsInstaller v5, can I update the firmware at last version 2.4.80 without problems?
Thanks for your answer. I didn't find other thread about this and sorry for my english (I'm italian)...
Don't use gAppsInstaller.
Download ArcTools through AppsLib and that will then install all google programms.
and after updating? Google apps don't disappear??
yes bro even you update to 2.4.80 app market will never delete
and dont forget to use Go launcher app
I used gAppsInstaller awhile back, and everything seems fine. Should I uninstall it and install ArcTools instead?
Both tools are for installing the Market.
If you have allready successfully done that, you don't need the other tool.
But if you just start, Arctool is the easier way.
Agreed Arctools works a treat. Done all fw updates and market updates and no probs scince last feb.
+1 for go launcher as well
ps not forgetting that arctools is available from aplib

I've been running phiremods MIUI v2 for at least 6 months. Decided to have a look at CM7. Didn't like it as much and when I went back to MIUI v2 I am getting a market fc whenever I try to open something in market.
What I've been able to find out is that the rom comes with market 3.1.3 but after using the market it upgrades to 3.4.4
I can download all I want as long as I stay in the market. Once I close it, it updates the next time I launch it and then I have to go uninstall the update to use it again.
Any suggestions? I'm not new to rooting, roming or tinkering so any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanx
market fc
It is happening with all versions of Miui.No reliable solution found except for what you are doing ie uninstall market update which good as long as you don't close market.
Thanks.
One suggestion I found was using Titanium Backup Pro to freeze the market. I'm not a huge fan of TB and don't really want to spend the money for a solution that is no more elegant than what I'm now doing.
Are the people at MIUI looking for a cause/solution?
