Heads up about new PRL update for me at least from 52341 to 52549.
No noticeable difference where I am right now(Northwest Montana) I am hoping I can finally use more of the alltel towers out in the mountains.
I could not get this with CM so probably no go with any AOSP ROM if someone knows how please post. I could dial *22899, *228+, etc it looked like it worked but prl remained 52341.
I flashed Jermaine151's stock plus and then verizon let me update PRL. Even though this stock plus looks nice I am a CM crackflasher and the new nightly is out

thanks for the heads up. worked fine for me!
worked fine in California.
Huh I guess verizon doesn't like me.
I guess they don't like me either, my PRL is 30076.
Tom
More than likley the recent prl updates are for places where LTE has been added. I went for almost a whole year without a prl change, and then they announced LTE and it has changed 4 times since.
Can someone upload the previous prl.

There is a prl update out to 60660. Not syre yet of the changes but have heard it provides EVDO to some 1x customers.
Would like to hear who it helps.
EDIT: I switched yo EVDO only and data shows EV however when on hybrid it stays on 1x.
Thanks for the tip, but I always had EVDO where I live, I got 1 more signal bar though.
Ever since I rooted, I have never been able to update the PRL. Always comes up with an error. Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?
IIRC, Sprint disabled Over the Air updates recently.

Thats not how it works.
just did the update..whats it supposed to do?
PRL stands for Preferred Roaming List... Sprint has agreements with other carriers to roam. Basically it searches for the contracted carriers and utilizes there signal when roaming. Sprint works out deals with other carriers and when they change protocol they update the list. its Basically a $$ for Sprint

FWIW - I totally hosed things up while working on AOSP1.6 bluetooth and had to RUU. For giggles I tried updating profile and prl and it worked.
The RUU showed my software version as the properties line in the build prop of the AOSP ROM I was using when I ran it. I think Sprint is getting software version information and denying updates to those who have changed the default software.
The only time recently I have been able to OTA the prl was when I had default software.
FWIW...?
That's interesting...
Hmm, I wonder if using an RUU backup would enable the ability to update PRL, or if it tries to check for root.
Oh my god, what if Sprint started bricking Heros through OTA updates if they detect it has been rooted?
No sleep for me tonight...

i am on Modaco 2.2
I updated PRL a month ago...
and just updated PRL to 60660.
NO problems..
Awesome! I have always had 1x at home, and now constantly showing EV.
What is the difference between the two? Is there any reason to actually update the prl? With past updates I have not seen any difference with anything.

I haven't noticed any great increase in coverage, but I don't really roam that often. That said I update to the 60663 PRL for good measure.
The PRL is a list of information that resides in the memory of a digital phone. It lists the frequency bands the phone can use in various parts of the country. (The smaller bands within Cellular or PCS, technically called blocks.)
The part of the list for each area is ordered by the bands the phone should try to use first. Therefore it's a kind of priority list for which towers the phone should use.
For example, say you had a Sprint PCS phone, and were travelling in an area with no Sprint coverage, weak Verizon coverage, and strong Qwest coverage. The PRL would tell the phone to look for towers using Sprint's band for that area. Finding none, it might tell the phone to search for towers in Verizon's band next, perhaps because Sprint's roaming agreement with Qwest was not as favorable, or none existed. The phone would use Verizon's towers, as dictated by the PRL, even though Qwest might provide a better signal.
Since a PRL tells the phone "where" to search for a signal, as carrier networks change over time, an updated PRL may be required for a phone to "see" all of the coverage that it should.

my auto prl update gave me a "smith.micro" force close while running DC 2.1V2. whatever app that is im assuming it oversees prl updates cuz the meter kept spinning and nd never updated. I found the latest prl from ppc geeks in zip format and flashed it thru epst. I too have not noticed any better coverage although i regularly get full signal so im not really worried about.
Yes, i came from 60660 to 60662, I noticed my signal has been increased.. I am using international roaming.. but just ran check update and there's no update.. when did you get 60663?

Got 60663 today around 2pm Mountain Time. I had the Eris leak PRI and had to revert to fresh 1.1 and factory reset to fix it, then I updated profile and PRL. My old school 60656 PRL got updated to 60663.

well id love to hear your experience. trieng to make a generic rom was fun lol
I am on Reliance India and using Sprint on phone in Reliance
but some how all Latest Sprint Dump ROM dont work for 1x Data in India with all Radio
Old 1.56 RUU get me back to 1.5 Cupcake version with Data but all Damaged 2.05 and fresh ROM 2.02d Breaks the 1x Data Radio
Let me try this
Good Work
It's everything I would have expected to see in a 2.1 release from my carrier. The apps included are exactly what I remember being on my stock 1.5 but running much smother. I've only used it for 24 hrs or so (and now am awaiting a link yet another new rom to try out LOL) battery life seems good but had to get rid of 50% time without signal with airplane mode. nothing new. I couldn't get google voice outbound to work even using the 0.2 ver. but vmail came through fine. Superuser and all the lights worked. Had to use the fix to get quick Boot working
all in all tho GOOD WORK!! I Liked it.
Thank you
All ROMs that sprint has released they mostly work with CS Hero just few little problems here and there.
I will link this post if you dont mind to my post.
Thank you again
Here's something weird....not sure if any of you have experienced this but....
I had downloaded PRL 60672 last week or so and it was working fine. The other day I receive a text from Sprint saying that there is an Important Roaming List update and to do a manual Update. Thinking that a new one came out, I did it and it put me back to 60671. Not sure why that happened. Its not really affecting me much, but just wondering if that happened to anyone else.
I haven't gotten that message.

from the responses so far....it sounds like maybe you should be wearing a football helmet
Earlier this week I was doing updates on my phone and the PRL would not get higher than 60671 (which is what I am still at), and this was back on Sunday or Monday.
Im thinking for whatever reason, they dont want that 72 out yet
not here and why is this here in the dev section ?
I live in kind a kind of crappy area for Sprint service, and after I flashed to Fresh 3.3 last week I also update radio and wimax (of course) and manually check for a PRL update too (I only update when I want to, and have the time to update everything, and fix it if I become stoopid, but so far XDA has saved my from myself)
Anyways I went from 60669 to 60671, is there a 60670 I missed out on? With my old Sprint phones (Treo650&Centro) I would usually jump PRL revision numbers. It's gotta be a Sprint thing.

Unless you guys live in an area where Sprint coverage sucks and you are roaming all the time, this is not a significant update that you need to worry about. PRL (preferred roaming list) updates local towers from another carrier (most likely Verizon) and tells the phone if certain towers have been added/removed or what not.
Perhaps the 60672 PRL had bad information that was causing people not to roam correctly and Sprint pulled it. I have a feeling another PRL update will be available sooner than later.

If your phone is rooted you won't get update notifications from Sprint. I have full root and have never seen an update message from Sprint.
Sorry in advance, I couldn't find the thread this goes in, but I got my PRL update issue resolved today over the phone with a rep. Like many of you, one of the ota updates to froyo screwed my over the air ability to update my profile or PRL. The sprint rep assigned me a new msid and had me manually program it into the phone, did a reboot and bam. Over the air updates working flawlessly now. Just a heads up for you guys.

Yeah thats really old like more than 3to6 months old i believe
I believe that 60679 is the latest consumer PRL. 01120 is the latest business PRL. Whosdaman started and excellent thread in the general section about 01120 that compares them. Its probably 3 or 4 pages down.
