Hi XDA,
Mi cousin bought a galaxy tab 10.1, he was happy with it, a week ago he was walking and droped it, the result is a broken front glass, the touch screen is working ok, but is ugly to see the glass broken.
Do you know if it's possible to change the glass where to get it?
Send them to the next Samsung Repair Center or to the shop where you purchased it.
does the lcd still work? Here is a google shopping result for the screen and digitizer (touch interface) : http://www.google.com/#q=galaxy+tab....,cf.osb&fp=d9a0bdb8480db12f&biw=1280&bih=800
You'll also need a smartphone tool kit w/ torx screwdriver and plastic pry tool. They are often sold as iphone or ipod tool kits.
The screen is working perfectly, is the glass that is broken, the touch works perfectly also, but is horrible to see the broken glass, I'll look for a samsung service center in my country and see how much they ask to fix it,
How much it costed u?

Hi, has anyone disassembled omnia 7 screen before? May I know whether the glass and lcd are glued together and whether it is difficult to pry open the screen? (I have pried an ipod touch screen before)
*I just broke my omnia glass and thinking of getting a replacement from ebay but the lcd and glass package is too expensive (>$100) while the glass only is below $20 so I was thicking of getting the glass only.
Thanks
First of all, how the hell did you manage that - it's Gorilla Glass!
There is a tear down of the phone here
Quite complicated and delicate process unless you are familiar with doing this kind of thing.
As for the glass being connected to the digitizer, yes I think they will be stuck together with some sort of glue resin. Probably not the best idea to prise away and try and fit yourself, I suspect you'll be disappointed with a homemade attempt to stick a new pane of glass on.
I actually couldn't find the glass-only on eBay, I could only find the £80+ glass and digitizer items.
Claim it on household insurance, send it back to Samsung or save up the £80?
Hey everone. I bought a Galaxy s4 recently about two weeks ago. I love this phone alot and had not bought a screen protector or a cover yet (boy was that a mistake). One day will walking my dog, I was talking to a friend. The phone was on my ear. Suddenly, my dog jerked really hard and the phone fell out of my hand. The glass is cracked, well more like shattered. Im not very good with phones and would like to ask if it is Cracked Glass or Cracked LCD ? The phone turns on and works perfectly like the first day I bought it. The touchscreen also works on top of the cracked glass. I have seen some LCD's on Ebay for around $200 which I cant afford. But when I searched " Samsung Galaxy s4 Glass " I came up with some results that were far cheaper. So does anyone know what it is ? Cracked Glass or Cracked LCD ? And if it is cracked glass or lcd, where can I find a replacement for cheap (I live in the U.S.). Thank you all.

From my understanding the amoled display and glass are glued together as a unit, if either one is cracked you must replace the whole screen
Yep unfortunately you must get the whole front panel replaced.

Hey guys. Ive recently shattered my Nexus 4 but im a little confused. The screen hardly works even where it is not shattered. Do i need the Glass only? Or the LCD or Digitizer? Im confused? :/ Will post pics of phone soon.
Hey itswagz!
Shattered mine on Friday too. I was thinking about ordering a display repair for 90€ on eBay. There you send it in and get it rapaired. But I'm getting a new phone from my provider and thus will attempt the repair myself. so I ordered a Digitizer + Glas kit on eBay for 25€. I'm a bit concerned about the glue but I will jsut use double sided tape for the first try. For tools you need a T5 torx screw driver, some thin plastic slip like guitar plectrums, a blow dryer to heat up the diplay with the glue and a razor blade to scramble off the left over glue from the LCD.
This video displays the process pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lkcg8g3i1s
Also the store link in the description has all the parts and tools available (not trying to advertise here but it looks pretty solid & legit, i didn't buy anything there)
How can I tell that the screen the third party repair center is using is Gorilla 4?
Where can I buy online genuine screen? And is it true as I read online that since all device parts need to be removed to reach the screen it will be impossible not to have after repair marks or dents?
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
virtually impossible to take phone apart without the right tools and damaging the black glass camera lens.
I purchased a screen and rear battery cover (which came with the black glass lens cover and the strip at the bottom on the back. The screen was around €50 and the back cover around €20. Also, you should purchase a screen separator like this: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/LCD-Screen-R...t-Tool-Manual-Sucker-Separator-/141888803105? as it is very difficult to get the screen out.
If you are careful, it is not such a a difficult job, and I would say to ask the seller about whether or not is is Gorilla 4. Personally, I user good glass screen prtoectors, and seeing how breakable the gorilla 4 is, I'm not too worried about ensuring it is 100% original Gorilla 4 - I am am happy with the result: I bought a broken 2 month old Nexus 6p 128GB silver and have fixed it all for about €300.
I got mine properly repaired through Huawei who directed me to an approved repair centre. Paid £130 but it's all official Huawei parts, and I think the repair comes with a warranty.
Edit: I should probably mention that even this official repair scuffed the aluminium and slightly bent the bezel where the guy tried to take the old screen out
Thanks
Hi everyone !
I dropped my Samsung S10+ last weekend and the front glass broken, but the screen are working fine.
I know that this kind of damage are not covered by Samsung warranty, so I checked with some local repair shop.
No one seem to replace just the glass, their replace the screen and the glass together, this mean, a expensive reparation cost.
I asked them why their don't replace only the glass, but I only receive anwser like 'We don't replace glass, we change the screen who come with the glass"
Do you know why their won't replace the glass only ?
I seen on Amazon some front glass at only 40$ CAD with tool, UV adhesive and lamp. I confortable to do it myself. I watched some videos, but seem that everyone dissasemble the phone completly to change the glass on the screen.
Why not just removing the glass directly ?
Thank you for your anwser !
I think it is because the oled panels in this phones are so thin that separating the front glass from them would break them.
