Bluetooth problem - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

So basically my HD2 has problem with sending files through bluetooth. I can connect it to another device, but whenever I try to send a file it instantly fails. In settings I can't pair devices. I tried sending files to a laptop and another phones (android and not). I have Typhoon's rom.

@max2k - are you sure the other phone supports OBEX transfer?
@mpampis81 - check you have receive all incoming beams ticked to receive bluetooth

Receiving files via BlueTooth is not working

I am able to send files, but when browsing for services on my Prophet I seem to miss the FTP or OBEX bluetooth options.. Anyone having the same problem ?

Do you have the same problems with the correct ROM that came with your PocketPC ? I seriously advise people for not reporting issues with non official ROMS.

I seriously think that this is THE place to report results of the non-official roms. If I would use the official ROM , I would just bring the phone back to the shop and let them fix it ...
Hmm, I have tried multiple roms and didn't have any problems receiving files.
I just send something to my device and something pops-up if I want to accept the file yes/no. Didn't need to set anything up, just make the device discoverable.
But I'm only sending from other phones or a computer with the standard MS bluetooth stuff installed. Perhaps it could be different with other drivers?
Hallo, I have the same problem. I use a bleutooth dongle and windows xp installed somer driver. It lacks the OBEX option. I can not find the software that came with the dongle. Maybe you have the samen problem???
How are you trying to send a file? I never had to set anything with OBEX or other options when sending via the MS bluetooth driver. (which is: go the systray where there is the bluetooth icon, right-click on the icon, send file. Then search for device, select the file to send and voila, it sends).
Or does it say after that it cannot send because the device is missing a service?
When I search for services on my device it only has the DUN service available, nothing else. Yet it receives files just as it should.
try this...
go to settings - connections - beam , make sure you enable the "Receive all incoming beams" then try back sending files using your bluetooth ..
Make sure you have the following RegKey enabled to recieve files over BT from your device:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Obex\IsEnabled = 1

Acessing Folders in 'MY WINDOWS DEVICE'

Hi im new to this forum, but it comes highly recommended.
Im having trouble accessing my files on the smartphone through my PC. I had the phone previously before i gt a new one and by going to the my mobile device folder in my computer i could access all the files on the phone when it was connected. Though now on the same phone bt everytime i try to access these files the window itself just closes. I am able to do everything else on the phone but to put mp3 I have to use windows media player and place it on the storage card.
I have tried everyhing from reseting the phone to its original status and upgrading the rom. Please can some one help me as I like to use this way to transfer films and videos to the phone and check other folders. Or if anyone knows of another way to transfer movie files and mp3s to the phone.

It does not seem like there is something wrong with your phone but with your desktop! Try to delete the partnership in ActiveSync.
If you have the know-how you also might remove the drivers for your mobile device manually on your desktop.
uninstall ActiveSync completely and then reinstall (maybe the latest version???)
At least I would try that first ...
How would I remove the drivers from my mobile device manually on the desktop.
I have already unistalled the active sync and downloaded the latest version but i'll try it again.
Thankyou
What phone do you have, what version of ActiveSync do you use, and how do you connect to your PC (USB or BT)?
I have an O2 xda mini, I connect via usb and I have version 4.5 of active sync.
Did you delete the partnership yet? After deleting the partnership, can you connect as a guest and then access your phone via Windows explorer?
I just deleted the partnership and tried going through windows explorer. Once I click on mobile device and go into the folder. The same thing happens as when there is a partnership. I click to go into a folder (any folder) and the windows explorer crashes and the error report comes up asking me to debug or send error report. This is a constant thing no matter what i try
Do you have access to another computer? If so, try using that one. If you don't have any problems, then the problem lies in your computer. I recommend getting a registry cleaner to scan and repair any registry errors.

[Q] Problem with Wifi Direct

Hey
so I'm having issues with sending files over Wifi Direct to another phone.
S-Beam works perfectly fine, so I can send an image, video to the other person.
File transfers e.g. PDF, Zip. Songs etc work fine from the other person's phone to mine
But when I send files to the other person's phone they get a prompt asking them to accept/reject the file and they press "accept".
my phone say connected and his phone say connected.
but is loading and loading
and do nothing..
Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what might resolve it?
*Sending files over Bluetooth works fine, however this is a lot slower.*
I am having problems with wifi direct on NG1. My friend is on the same rom with the same device, we can find eachother and connect. But when we try and send a file it says connecting for a while then fails, nothing comes up on the other device.
