So who have you or will preorder with?

It seems Best Digital offer the chepaest price and also HTC Direct. I am wondering if it is best to order through HTC Direct rather than someone I never heard of (Best Digital) in case you need a refund or return.
Also the shops in Tottenham Court Road in London may be a good place to buy and haggle for cash but I am guessing if a fault devleops in the phone, they won't exchange or give you hassle unlike dealing through reputable companies like Play.com, HTC Direct etc etc. I want to pay under £450 as over £500 is way too much for a phone.
I so want one now and HTC Direct says they will get stock in in under 2 weeks (31st Sept) whereas others say mid November. I have told myself after buying this phone I wont buy another phone again as this really seems to the best phone ever in what I want from a phone.
I just don't know who to preorder with or just wait and haggle in Tottenham Court Road.
Who are you pre-ordering with or have you already preordered?

BTW, it looks that they updated the delivery date to early november for the english version, up to end of november for the italian version...keep ready...

Never dealt with HTCdirect, and just in case you were wondering, they are NOT htc themselves, they are just a shop.
Expansys are usually ok, apart from the odd occasion where they buy dodgy grey import stock and sell them to get to the market early, and you end up with warranty issues.
Devicewire.co.uk are owned by brightpoint so they are usually pretty quick out of the gate with stock, and a good guide for the proper retail price and release date.
If you want to buy on TCR in London, then INKINO is your best bet. they are very good and knowledgeable and happy to help. There is another one around there that is owned by handtec (I think) and they can't get you out of the door fast enough once they've taken your money, and refuse to do anything to help if there's a problem. Best to avoid them like the plague....!

My preorder has been in with Clove.co.uk for weeks now (over a month). It was £590+ (inc. tax) when I placed the order and it has dropped to £523 inc. tax now ....I hope they charge me the lower price when they do finally ship!

They buy their stock from Brightpoint UK, so they nearly always say the day after devicewire/Brightpoint....Surprised they haven't updated their date to the 1st of November yet. These two companies are only a couple of miles apart in Bournemouth and Poole.

I'll probably be ordering with Expansys USA.

I ordered at expansys germany. I guess they will be the first to get HTCs new device..

Amazon.de has a very good price. The guys from a german o2-Shop said, that the HD will cost about min. 700,- Euros without a contract.

I don't know who are you guys going to preorder the Touch HD from but I just saw a broshure from one of the big mobile phone sellers here in Bulgaria and the HD was listed as avaliable and at a good price!!! 1299lv. Or 650 Euro! This is verry interesting and I'll check it monday when the shops open! Keep fingers crossed!

I get mine as a present, but know that official German retail is 660 euros. So Amazon incl. shipping is not too bad. I hope the HD lives up to its promises, since it marks my return to the WinMobile world, after exiting with Tytn I.

No. You dont have to pay VAT if you are getting it shipped from Europe to the US address. I just bought the Touch HD from one of the UK sites with out VAT.

So it might not be as accurate as I thought. But I went to clove and set up shipping and everything. Got the total amount and went to that convertor. Thats what it came up with.

You have to ask your own Indian government how much they will charge you. It has nothing to do with the UK.

I odered mine from expansys (UK site) on Nov. 10th. No VAT, no CA sales tax, no custom forms, HD was shipped via DHL and was here on Thursday, Nov. 13. This time frame included a little hassle, as expansys USA took over (actually wanted to) and I told them I want it shipped directly from the UK. USA price was quite a bit higher, I think $799 phone only.

I ordered mine from handtec.co.uk for $706 USD total.
I ordered it on an Friday and received it on the following Wednesday, 4 working days. They ship via Fedex so Fedex called me then emailed the FCC form.

A bit of a hassle as Handtec only takes Google checkout for payment. They weren't proactive on providing a tracking number but I spoke to them on the phone and they were very responsive. All in all a good experience.

No, they didnt match me even the 499 of amazon uk saying:

I very much doubt that as O2 are selling a PAYG handset and not a SIMFREE handset.
By their reckoning you will be locked to O2 for at least 12 months before you could officially get it unlocked by them.
I'm sure you'd be able find an unlock solution sooner though

Grr.. Was planning to get O2 399 but the phone is locked by O2 which pull me off from buying. I think I'll wait for second batch. Having finals starting tomorrow.

if i ship it to US it costs 444 pounds including shipping so will i be need to pay the tax?
i mean if i ship it to Turkey costoms will not let the phone in the country if i don't pay tax but i don't know if US has such a prosedure.

do not be put off by phone be locked, i bought htc desire from o2 payngo, paid another 15 pounds to unlock sorted, so you will be able to do the same with s2, which i am planning to do this weekend, so £399 +15-20 to unlock still alot cheaper than clove, handtec, expansys who are all +£500

USA Note Users, where did you buy your Note, and for how much?

I think it would be helpful to make a thread so we can all make the right buying decision. There are no wrong answers, of course, and I realize some may not want to give a dollar amount, but from most of the posts I have seen people have been pretty open about the $
I for one am hoping that the Note will come to a country with a more favorable exchange rate than those with the Euro or the Pound..

In fact you'll probably get it faster ordering from Handtec in the UK than you would Newegg even unless you pay for overnight shipping. I'm in the US and both of my orders from Handtec were shipped and delivered the next day by FedEx.
