Has anyone got the new android market on MDJ's 2.3 Gingerbread ROM? I've try'd installing the new market .apk file found across XDA but when i go to install it, it says "Application not installed". Any ideas?
It's possible that the APK isn't signed and you will have to push it via adb.
so i rooted my mt3g fender ota 2.2.1 with gingerbreak.apk v1.20 it went thru the whole process sucessful...rebooted and i did root checker and have root couldnt find superuser app..please help gettin superuser working.
Try again.
Or manually run gingerbreak then push the files yourself
If you go to the market, you can download rom manager. Install itx and under the download section, there should be a category called "Extras". Download the first one if you are on cupcake or donut, otherwise download the second one. When it is done downloading, open up settings>applications. Check off "Allow nonmarket sources". Open up your notification bar, and tap on the download. It should ask you if you want to install. Go ahead, and you're done.
Let me know how it goes!

Superuser app is just as the name says an app.
You can install it like an other app.
Try to search for "superuser" on android market.
To be rooted = have SU binaries. It has nothing to do with superuser app.
Try using super one click, I unrooted my mt3g 1.2 successfully and painlessly with it.
i install this rom to my hd2 everything is working as it should be after reading all the posts and installing glitch fix, weather fix, raf 1.9 and honeycombe batt fix so dont have any problems with rom . but only problem i have found is when i logged onto android market to reinstall my apps some of them werent there . after logging on market on the internet and check my account all my apps were there . i found that my phone make was down as a htc but the model was down as htc runnymede so google android market doesnt recognize my phone . is there anything i can change or a patch i can install so my phone is recognized as either a hd2,desire,hd,or sensation and not a htc runnymede. thanks in advance

If you use ES File Manager, you have to give it root write access. Go into the ES File Manager settings and you should find root options. Check the Root explorer and Mount file system check boxes. Then it should be able to save your edits.
hi thanks for all your help i did manage to edit my build prop but rom was to unstable for me so uninstalled have installed sense 3.0 pyramid rom by dungphp which is a better rom for me more stable and i can now get my apps from market
Recently, whenever I try to launch Android Market, I got the message "The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I have tried to clear data then uninstall and reinstall market but it still doesn't work.
I am using HTC HD2 android version 2.2.1, darkstone superRAMFroYo v.1.5, build number FRG83. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you got Titanium Backup installed? If so, you could just make a backup, do a fresh install (might want to try a new ROM as well) then restore all apps.
No, I don't have Titanium Backup installed. How do I install it? Thanks.
Yes, I manually installed new version market
Google "gapps" and install the google apps from cyanogen mod.
On another note why haven't you upgraded to a newer version of android 2.3.5?

I am trying to update to android 2.3.5 but I am not sure where to start. Thanks.
Try going to settings => keyboard and change language to us english, not hd english.
It's a common issue.

I have tried all of these but nothing works. I also try to install american android rom but it was stucked at the start screen no matter how many time I tried.
when u manually added the market,u could still have 2 markets lol,i had the same prob,i had market3.15 AND com.android.vending,av a look at ur system apps, use link2sd from the market to check and remove or move to sd card etc, then delete com.android.vending,i use root explorer personally or systemapp remover, but not everybody as them cos they're not free,i could upload them if u need any, also if u do find u have 2 markets, after deleting the old market, boot into recovery and WIPE CACHE AND WIPE DALVIK,then reboot, ptoblem solved

Well, I would try fixing permissions through rom manager/CWR.
If that doesn't work either, reflash the rom.
Also, concerning the AmeriCan Android rom not booting - how big were your internal partitions (mainly system) for the Froyo rom that you've been using? In case you're using NAND, not SD build. Are you?
The ACA rom requires 190MB system partition, if yours is smaller, then it will not boot.
If none of this is the problem, then I am afraid I can't help you.
That's all I would do.
I try to install Google talk on an SD version ROM and it doesn't work. How do I install it? I have the apk so I should just install it? I should put it in system>apps and let it do it itself? I tried both ways and it didn't work. There was an older version of talk so I deleted it from system>apps and then tried to install it and it didn't install (actually it may have installed but when I opened it up it would crash).
