I am rooted.
Wondering what would happen if I install the clockwork mod and boot into recovery through ROM manager.
Will it work ?
I think you need to do the same thing as the droid x with the bootstrap? Not sure

The Droid 2 bootstrap recovery in the Market works! I just paid my $2.00 in the Market, downloaded, and installed the app. I could then boot into recovery. Just did my first nandroid backup for the Pro!

I will go ahead and do this once a chef releases a Custom ROM.
In ROM Manager, when I click install clockworkmod I get 3 options: Milestone, Droid X and Droid 2. Does the Droid 2 clockworkmod work with the Milestone 2? I haven't tried because I dont want to screw up my system.

Again, rom manager doesn't work with M2.
Take Droid2 bootstrapper to reboot in recovery.
Maybe you should search on forum before asking ...

Umm...searching "ROM Manager" only brings up some custom rom discussions.
I am talking about clockworkmod recovery!
Can i use the Droid 2 option to flash M2 recovery!!! is my question.
to have clockworkmod recovery use droid2 bootstrapper.
rom manager DON'T WORK ON M2
I could use rom manager to make backups AFTER I installed droid 2 bootstrapper
what for, with droid2 bootstrapper you boot in recovery and you make your backup...
I don't understand your use of rom manager
Since there's no milestone rom on rom manager it's not much use, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't work on milestone 2.
Really, donĀ“t work in Milestone 2.
It works
I just installed it today on My Moto A953 !
You should follow this procedure:
1. Get Root access to your phone, if you have not done already ( I used z4root.1.3.0 - currently not available on the Market, so Google it )
2. Install, "Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap" from the market
3. Bootstrap your phone, (and may be check to see if recovery is working)
4. Install "ROM Manager" from the market.
5. Flash CWM Recovery as "Droid 2"
And thats it..
But, sadly we don't have much Custom ROMs available... at least not yet!
Hi, i have a milestone 2 with android 2.2.1, can i install this app
and change my recovery? it's safe? thanks i'm very rookie in
milestone 2 stuff!! sorry for my english!
If you have rooted already, you already lost your warranty.
And if you have not rooted yet- get yourself root access before you consider installing rom manager.
I have rooted and installed cwm in my A953; if that helps!

Yes i rooted my phone! lol jeje i'm going to try to install CWM! thanks!!
Milestone 2:
install and launch 'Droid 2 bootstrap'
install the bootstrap via hit 'Bootstrap Recovery' button;
then later anytime you want to go into ClockworkMod recovery,
launch the 'Droid 2 bootstrap' and hit 'reboot recovery' or launch rom manager and hit 'reboot recovery'
I'm running froyo rooted with Droid 2 Bootstrap and I have ROM Manager installed. Every time I install CM7 via RM it fails. When I install using recovery mode I get:
assert failed: run_program ("/tmp/check_kernel") == 0
Status 7
This question should be in the General section, not the Android Development section, as it is not a new ROM or other development (as in making or fixing android software/firmware) related topic, thanks.
That aside, How does it fail in Rom Manager? (i.e. Does it just not boot into Clockwork recovery?) What "recovery mode" are you using to install it if you can't get it to work via Rom Manager? (i.e. Koush's bootstrap? or Stock Moto Recovery?)
If Rom Manager doesn't work try using koush's bootstrapper. For me, Rom Manager wouldn't work so I flashed it via Koush's bootstrap and it installed fine and after the install Rom Manager worked fine.
So, if you can install it with Koush's Bootstrap recovery then, after the install DON'T use Koush's bootstrap and just use Rom Manager as it should work fine.
if youre not yet in cm7 then you have to use bootstrapper to install it, once cm7 is installed, you must not use bootstrapper.
Rom manager never works for me. I end up booting into cwm recovery with D2 recovery bootstrap...

Hi guys!
I have Droid Pro Verizon American.
I have put CM7 V8 by VanillaLVL and then Cm7 V9 by vanillaLVL.
After putting this versions, and then installing Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap from app store, and trying to Reboot to Recovery i cannot load to the OS.
I have tried to restore to factory settings, but nothing - it just freeze with load screen with M letter - it's doesn't go further.
I have sbf'ed it back, then rooted, then put the CM7 again two times, and every time is the same bug - i cannot reboot to recovery with Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap installed over the CM7. Does anybody have the same problem? It works ok on rooted stock, but not on CM7.
Do you know how to resolve it? Maybe there is other software for clockworkmod instead of Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap for CM7?
Anyone?
Any ideas, guys? Really it's not simple bug, it would be good to know what is happening?
Maybe somebody could give some tips how to install clockworkmod manually? without application? I cannot find this info on the internet, everybody says to use rom manager or droid 2 bootstrap.
I believe you just cannot install bootstrap over cm7. So just try:
1. Root
2. Bootstrap
3. Cm7
4. Gapps
5. ????
6. Profit

I actually don't understand what you mean. I already have cm7 installed on my phone. The problem was that I used Droid 2 Bootstrap on cm7. I actually found the solution, i didn't know that vanillaLVL cm7 has custom bootloader with cwm inside, for this you just need:
sorry yor are right. i was my fault. i found it.
In order to get in to recovery: press power for 3 seconds. ->chose reboot -> chose bootloader -> reboot and wait for the LED to flash BLUE and then PRESS volume down button when its BLUE. it wil take to BOOT MENU. -> select RECOVERY -> then CLOCKWORK RECOVERY.

MB this helps you.
You can get to the bootmenu by rebooting your phone and when it starts up the LED will turn blue. When it turns blue press the volume down button. From the bootmenu you can choose the Recovery option.
same prolem
i can't recovery cwm in cm7 also using droid recovery . but after that the phone will be stuck in logo
