Hi,
Stuck between a rock and a hard place...
I love CM7 for the ability to jump between tracks on it's native music player with long press of volume keys without having to take the phone out of my pocket, especially on crowded subway!
However, after having fingerprint scanner since March, now can't live without it so I've gone back to Aura DB. Done tons of research about various music players and their (supposed) ability to skip tracks this way. PlayerPro, the only one that's close, you still have to wake up with power button first, then use volume keys.
Also, found several threads talking about button remapping vol keys, but can't find the app anywhere, and am an android noob, don't know how to do this manually?!
Does anyone know how this can be accomplished using Aura's music player or any other for that matter, as I have and otherwise like paid version of PowerAmp.
Thanks very much!
Try using the app called just shake, it is in the market and gives that functionality. it worked for me on alien ROM, now with Cm7 I don't use it. I turned all of the shake functions off and only used it for volume control track skip.

awesome!!!
I only pray it's not a battery hog... it works flawlessly on install!!
Thanks very much.
Doubletwist allows you to skip forward and backwards with the volume rocker for free.
music mod also added the same functionality.
PowerAMP FTW!
+1 for "Just Shake" it works really well for this.

ive been trying player pro but long press volume skip doesnt work.
CM7 has it? i know cm6 had it and ive tried cm6 roms for the hd2 and the long press doesnt work. ill check out cm7
the music player "3" has this function...
I am looking for music player controllable with volume keys.
Running on InsertCoin CM7 0.25
thx
Playerpro and doubletwist support this, but playerpro wakes the screen up when you do it, whereas doubletwist doesn't, so I prefer doubletwist.
Or install redux rom which I am currently running because:
A) its awesome
B) it allows the stock music player to be controlled with the volume keys.

i was using playerpro on reflex gingersense rom... it drains battery! but it's the only player i know which allow u to change tracks via volume buttons(but it's not 100% perfect) and it wakes your screen by doing so... so i decided to switch rom and went on cyanogenmod 7 which allow you to change tracks natively using volume keys
Hi,
I can't find the setting in doubletwist and by default its not working for me.
I use my tablet at work to play music etc via the Honeycomb Music app. Its nice and simple to use but I absolutely hate the fact that there are no lock screen controls for the Music app.
I dunno, it just seems silly that in order for me it change to the next track, I have to turn on the tablet, unlock the tablet, then change the track...
Of course I've Google this issue but no one has an answer... no ones even said anything. Am I really the only person who actually likes tthe honeycomb music player, but needs the lock screen controls?
Does the lock screen have some kind of API that would allow development to create a widget of some sort that can control the music app?
Most of the players on the market have that option.
I use Power Amp because it has a phenomenal equalizer.
Use Winamp...it has d lock screen controls n its one f d best!! N moreover its free!

Anyone else got this issue, the new stock music player, whether I'm using onscreen buttons or BT remote, is automatically shuffling?
i.e. I press skip and it shuffle skips. I can't seem to turn it off. If I hit the shuffle onscreen button it physically messes up the playlist album order.

Use PlayerPro? or download the new Google Music app from the Market.
I'd recommend songbird.

Eh, it doesn't have near the amount of features in PlayerPro
yeah using winamp at present which I like but stock has a few features
- good lockscreen integration (don't like winamp's style)
- ratings
having gravitated over from using Miui on my XT720, I now have an Atrix. Only problem I am having is finding a music player that I can shake to change a track when the screen is off (say if I am driving for e.g).
My Miui player used to do it on old phone but sadly, once the screen goes off, it doesn't work on the Atrix.
Any help would be appreciated.
music player pro has this option, i believe, but it's a paid app. The miui player worked for me, but only when there was no security lock. Alternatively, you might try shake 2 play next on the market.

thanks for the quick reply... I have just tried player pro... same result maybe it's a setting in the atrix I have missed?
anyone able to help?
turn off any pattern, fingerprint, or pin lock you have, and this will work.
If you install cm7 you can use the volume rocker to change songs and volume. Just set it up on settings
