Hey
I´m been searching the forum for the last hour and haven´t find how you install a rom with the pc, Can only find the storagecard method..
I want to install the default rom on my xperie because some buttons on the keyboard inclusive the volumebutton so the storagecard method isn´t an option for me..
Could someone help me out ?
thx
Most roms downloaded will come in a folder that has a rom update utility prog. Connect your X1 via activesync and run the program and follow on screen instructions
Thx for the tip,
but the two stock roms that i´ve downloaded here only come with either an .image or .nbh file without any other update utility..
The reason why I have to change back to the stock rom is only to be able to send it on service since the volumebutton and some keys on the keyboard won´t work..
So i´m still looking for a way to install the stock rom without using the volumebutton at the startup..
thx in advance

Download a ROM that comes with an installer and simply use that with the stock image.

Verbose Mode ON:
Download any ROM that comes with the RUU flasching tool (Xperia GEN, Touch-IT, ...)
Unpack the archive and delete the file RUU_signed.nbh. Rename the original ROM file as "RUU_signed.nbh" and place it in the RUU folder.
Now, flash your ROM with the provided installer.

Hello
Ive the same problem with defect buttons....
my qwertz keyboard sometimes is not funcional and the vol buttons doesnt work anymore....
if you have installed a custom rom based on R1A or R2A stock rom you only need the HardSPL package.....
there is an exe file "enterbootloader.exe"...... only copy it to your storage card and then run it on your X1...... now you have entered the bootloader and can do a reinstall/update of your ROM with SEUS and you will get the Stock rom....... after this you only have to install the stock SPL from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
manual is on buttom of the first post.....

I actually have two HD, one of them (HD1) is running Miri's rom which I downloaded in early Sep, and I failed to keep the rom now.
But I'm desperate to have the same rom on my HD 2, if there anyway I can duplicate the OS from one onto another? kind of like copy and paste in dos mode?
I've tried to run spirite backup from HD1 to HD2, but it failed to restore the same OS on HD2, particularly the Touchflo settings.
I've tried to copy and paste one of the OS files into another one with win explorer, but i knew that's not going to work, because those system files are in use and cann't be replaced. I also tried to boot in bootloader mode, but then I couldn't figure out where to copy the files as they don't show and disk in windows.
I'm wondering if there's any tools can do the duplicate, or any tools can recognize the phone in bootloader mode and able to copy the internal disk. and my last hope is if I could make my own rom based on my current OS in HD1?
This is a long question.

install the rom which u have on hd1 to hd 2.
take a backup of ur settings of hd1 on ur sd card using sashmi and restore the same on ur hd2.
for cooking ur own roms go thru the threads of the kitchen in the rom development section...
Thanks, guy.
I couldn't get the old rom, the latest version of rom comes with the new icons for touchflo, those colored taps. That's why I'm trying to duplicate the old version OS.
I'm trying Sashimi now, hope it could change the touchflo setting as well.
Otherwise, maybe need to cook the rom.
Will post up if it works.

the problem is I forgot which version I had, Miri update very fast, and I couldn't find the old rom links he put.
I think it was around early September, ard Sep 2, 3, probably.
Don't SPB have some kind of ghosting software for Windows Mobile? SPB Clone I think it's called. Not sure if that will work for what your after.
Hi Guys,
I found the rom, it's V26.3 Premium, there was a mirror links in middle of the post. I digged it out, and then use Sashimi to copy all of the rest setting from HD1 to HD2. cools.
Thanks a lot for all your reply.
Will try the ghost if need next time.
Hi everyone. I'm so sorry that this has to be a "dummy" question...
I have been running the WM6 Black & Blue v5.0 for a few months. I managed to unlock CID and flash the ROM etc thanks to the very useful step-by-step posts I have found here (THanks!!).
However, the phone function seems to be playing up, e.g. phone appears to be on but unable to receive incoming calls. Therefore I would now like to upgrade the ROM in the hope that it will solve my problems (mine is currently at manufacturer's v.02.67.90). I have downloaded the files for v.03.21.90.
So here's my dummy question.... what am I supposed to do with the files? Do I just run the RUUUpdateUtility file and follow the onscreen instructions? Or do I need to do something with the NBH file or with the other files?
I have tried searching the forum, but have not found anything....
Thanks so much again!
Radio Rom
Hi Racquelle
You only need to run the RUUUpdateUtility
But before you do did you perform a hard reset after flashing the new rom?
as this will generally solve most problems
Also it would be a good idea to do a search for POF the god of all things unlocking and USPL. The information and programs you can find from him are priceless.
hello...
gud day to everyone..
Pls help me on how to get rid of this tri-color that appears on the screen of my htc p4350 with an IPL 4.17.0002 and SPL 4.17.0000 written on it.. I really don't know what to do with this problem.. help me pls. pls. pls.
thank u so much..
1. This is the development forum. Your post is not a development post.
2. This has been covered a million times. Please search.
3. The tri-color screen is your bootloader. What did you do in the first place to get to this point? The more information about your problem that you give, the easier it is for everyone else to figure out what happened.
Hello..
Thank you for the reply...
I'm so sorry for posting in a wrong thread... What happened was.. I accidentally installed a wrong application on my phone.. The application I installed was for HTC touch.. so it was not compatible on my phone.. Everytime I turned on my phone the tri color screen appears and it displayed on the screen all the time.. I could not also hard reset the phone because of that tri color..
Pls help me what to do.. thanks much..
What "application" was it? Was it a ROM? Was it a HardSPL?
If it was a ROM, just flash another ROM.
If it was a HardSPL, search for "Goldcard" and create a goldcard.
hello..
The application I installed was the Touch-flo application.. But the application was saved on the memory card.. when I run the application, its when the tri color starts to appear..
Thanks much...
Can you give me an exact link to the application that you used?
Sorry I could not anymore remember what site it was.. It's been 6 months now that my phone was not working... It's only today that I discovered this site and I was so happy coz maybe u can help me..
thanks
Without knowing what program you used, it will be harder to figure out how to fix it.
The only thing I can say is:
1a) try to flash a Herald ROM through SD (read the walkthrough) (if your device is HardSPL'd)
1b) try to flash the stock ROM through SD (read the walkthrough) if your device isn't HardSPL'd)
2) If you still can't get past the bootloader screen, try searching for the word "goldcard" and follow those instructions on how to create a goldcard. You can use the goldcard to restore your phone back to working condition.
i'll try these options..
thank u so much..
hi ivan.. i have some questions regarding gold card.. i'm really new to this & don't have that much idea.. hope you can help me... thanks..
I have done the previous steps but I couldn't get this..
Ad.4) run Perl Package Manager from Windows Start Menu
change PPM Preferences (run Preferences from the Perl Package Manager menu and switch to the repository tab):
- Add repositories:
Name: itsme
Location: http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/perl/ppm (there are many files on this location & i don't know what to download)
- Add repository:
Name: theoryx
Location: http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/package.xml
After database synchronization install those packages (at the main window of Perl Package manager find those packages, mark them for install (the icon with green plus, next to the search bar) and run marked action(green arrow icon)):
-Crypt-DES
-XdaDevelopers-NbfUtils
by the way, i'm using Windows XP service pack 2.. is it okay? eventhough the requirements is SP3? thanks much..

Flashing your Viva
Hey guys, I'm a newbie here also and you are right, it is confusing. But here's what I've been able to figured out.
Go to this thread and download the file Opal_HardSPL_v2_0.zip.
When you uncompress this file you'll find see the file Opal_HardSPL_v2.exe. This program is what you use initially to flash the ROM of your Viva so that it's able to be Flashed with newer ROMs.
Download the ROM of your choosing. Sorry, can't help you much here. There are a lot of different ROMs out there and everyone's tastes are different.
Some of the ROMs that you download come with an installation program and some do not. After un-compressing your downloaded ROM if all you have is the single file RUU_signed.nbh then all you have is a ROM.
If you need an ROM update program there are a few out there to choose from. Here is a link to one that you can use.
If your ROM didn't come with an instalation program then copy it into the directory with the installation program you just downloaded and uncompressed.
You need to have your Viva connected and synced to you computer before continuing. Once this is done Flash your Viva with Opal_HardSPL_v2.exe that you previously downloaded.
Re-sync your Viva to the computer.
Flash your Viva by double clicking the ROM Update utility executable.
It takes about 10 minutes or so, be patient. Your Viva will reboot when the Flash is complete and you then just follow the instruction of the screen.
I think that about covers it. If anyone has any suggestions or updates or knows of something that I forgot to mention then please post a response.
Thanks
thanks for easy and quick steps, but i dont have guts to flash my touch viva.
