Bluetooth and wifi - Galaxy S II General

I discovered that my s2 has trouble streaming audio through Bluetooth when wifi is on.
Looking around on the net it seems as if this problem is related to Android and it isn't specific to this phone.
Is there a fix for it?

A2DP issue?

Until today, I've been using my nexus one to play music in my car with no issues ... I got the galaxy tab car mount yesterday so that I can use my tablet. I noticed that the galaxy tab will 'skip' while playing music over Bluetooth. I haven't noticed anyone complaining about this....
Rooted T-Mobile galaxy tab
Sony xplod mex-bt2800
Like I said, works just fine with my nexus one. Does anyone know why it would 'skip'?

Thats odd, I had this issue with some old android phones when wifi was enabled and playing music through bluetooth. But I havent had that issues with the vibrant or the tab. The old phones would skip when it scans for wifi networks. I forget where the setting is, but you could adjust how ofter it scans for new wifi networks which would decrease the amount of skipping. Try turning off wifi while listening via bluetooth and see if the issue goes away.

Yep I noticed this the other day when using the Tab to send music to my car stereo via BT, very annoying!
I also have an HTC Desire and it doesn't have this problem...
I listen to audiobooks several hours each day and the tab does not skip for me.
Except between the chapters because the headset shuts off for half a second but i can prevent that with another app that plays sounds and has its own mixer which i set to 0.
@schmolch, It doesn't skip when I'm using wired headphones or the speaker, only when Bluetooth is involved.

There was another post in the general forum where I and another xda-er were talking about this...
It doesn't happen with my htc desire, so it must be a bug with the Tab
I listed to music every morning on my Bluetooth headset and there is no lag or problems of any kind with the Tab ...
I use Mortplayer, but I don't remember having issues with the stock app.
Actually ...
I just noticed, Bluetooth music works great UNLESS I am using wifi. With wifi it does skip.

Ford Sync with Nexus S 4g

I get constant disconnects when streaming media from the phone to ford sync through bluetooth. Very annoying. Anybody experiences the same problem? Any solutions? ( turning off wifi does not help)

Disconnects as in the phone is literally not connected via bluetooth anymore or just skips in the audio?
I have an '08 Fusion and my Nexus S 4G works perfectly. I had an Epic 4G prior and it was terrible. Audio skips all the time, it would forget it was paired to the car frequently, and sometimes the bluetooth wouldn't turn off or on and I'd have to reboot the phone.
Anymore info you can provide?
Same here w/ me/mine&my Sync/navi in my 2010 GT500!

WiFi not working while on call with Bluetooth headset

Has anyone had this issue? Anytime I'm on a call with my Bluetooth headset I can't use WiFi it won't scan or connect. When I switch to phone speaker or earpiece it connects. Also when I'm listening to music with Bluetooth it connects just not when calling.
Thanks for any reply.

I have a different issue with Bluetooth. Whenever I turn on Bluetooth and am done with it I turn it off. The next time I want to use it I try to turn it on and the on toggle switch toggles to the off position. It won't turn on until I reboot the phone. Then it's on as soon as I reboot. When I'm done with Bluetooth I turn it back off. Rinse, repeat. Any body got any ideas? Hopefully the op doesn't feel I'm highjacking his thread. I just haven't seen any other post relating to Bluetooth troubles on the Nexus 4.

Yup having this issue. WiFi connectivity does when on a call using Bluetooth. Connect to a 5ghz WiFi network so both can work together at the same time or hope Google will fix it.

Having done a small amount of digging around trying to figure out why I can't use my 2.4GHz WiFi at the same time as a Bluetooth headset, it looks like it's most likely due to the change of Bluetooth stack in 4.2.x.
Bluetooth has a feature called Adaptive Frequency Hopping that is supposed to automatically detect which frequencies in the 2.4GHz range are being used by other services, such as WiFi, and then avoid them. My wild and uninformed guess is that this is not working correctly and hence the Bluetooth and WiFi signals are interfering with one another to the point that neither can operate reliably. Fundamentally this is likely to be the same for headsets used for voice calls as well as basic audio playback.
If I switch the N4 to the 5GHz radio on my AP then everything co-exists happily and fluffy bunnies hop around peacefully in flowery fields.
In my case it certainly doesn't just affect streaming audio. If I play a local music track via my Bluetooth headset or speakers, the WiFi connection will usually drop; though even if it doesn't, it's not possible to download any files for example.
I have also tested on a Nexus 7 running 4.2.1 and, whilst it seems this can just manage streaming audio, as soon as I start to download a file the BT audio stutters very badly. That could also be down to the poor I/O bandwidth, though, and I'm not in any hurry to downgrade to 4.1 to prove the point at the moment.
Final test was on an ASUS TF300 with 4.1.1. This happily streamed audio over BT and downloaded a file at the same time. Also no problems playing a local track over BT whilst downloading a large file using WiFi.
There are a few related bugs open on the Android bug-tracker, for what that's worth. There are a massive number of Bluetooth issues overall, but a few WiFi/Bluetooth ones are:

It also happens when using a Bluetooth game controller, the WiFi stops functioning properly!

[Q] Bluetooth Call + Wifi On = Distortion ??

Hello guys! Just received my nexus 4 and i've noticed the bluetooth noise issue ...When making a phone call using bluetooth and Wifi is ON the other party can hear me but there's always a frustrating interference in the audio ...for me the audio is just fine ...turning Wifi OFF solves the problem ...I'm on android 4.2.2 using HTC BH M300 bluetooth..I've noticed that if i choose Wifi frequency band 5GHz instead of 2.4 GHz ( same frequency being used by bluetooth if i'm correct ) then the noise is gone but basically that's because wifi isn't connected anymore...
No problem streaming music or audio from videos using bluetooth!
Anyone else experiencing this and is there a way to fix it ?
Thanks
DITTO. That's the problem with Bluetooth. Perhaps Google knows about it and is working on solving it. Not sure. Read somewhere.
