thx to a search i found, i was able to get this version android :TyphooN_CM7_v3.7.1-MAGLDR.zip onto my SD card via HSPL3, also using
HD2 ToolKit....then Cyanogen MOD 7 Gingerbread 2.3.7...now the issue i have is i cant access my SD card via my cpu to load my music, i understand NOT to pertition the SD card via android OS, so ...how do i do it???? also i like the verison i have i would like to install it on the phone memory instead of the SD now...any info on that would be great, there is no how-to form the developer on how to do those steps i mentioned so i need some guidance, thx
you cant just convert an sd build to nand without alot of messing about
make sure you have mounted the sd card when you plugged iun the usb cable
ok can you explaon further in mew to this and dont understand mounted and all the terminology...
Today, many hours ago, i wanted to install the
[ROM][22/1/12][U8800][MIUI][v2.1.20][MULTILINGUAL][2.6.35 Kernel]
I came from the
[ROM][15/01/2012][U8800][MIUI][v2.1.20][MULTILINGUAL][2.6.32 Kernel]
So first changed my CWM into version ClockworkMod [v5.5.0.4]
I first pasted the new rom on my U8800 (previous versions i also had the network problems so needed latest version) SD card, then did the new CWM install and after this i lost all sound and mic...
I tryed to install the new ROM but still the network problem...
So i did my back-up but again no sound/mic/vibrate working...
After this i wanted to put an older rom or maybe CWM back on my SD card but now the SD can't be written on...
What can i do now...
Someone plz help me... Now my phone doesn't have network or any sound, vibrate also isn't working...
Best regards VdBRoald
Try to update from internal sd?
Also, the newer MIUI requires you to install official 2.3.5 before you install it. The newer has different kernel .35 that is required for all functions to work. (Batterystat , network, wlan, etc.)

thx for reply,
The inside memory is to small for installing a ROM and atm i only have the Build-in SD card, the one that is now write protected for a reason...
Because i came from another rom i think it isn't needed for first upgrading my standard version into 2.3.5...?
Best regards
Trust me, it is needed. .35 roms don't work unless you have first installed official 2.3.5.
Buy sdcard and try to install from there.
Try to mound/unmoung sd in cwm and try to install then.

Try first to mount sd card on pc and check it for errors with windows check disk app. I don' t think that the card is damaged. Then you need to put dload folder from 2.3.5 official rom package(instructions are on package' s pdf file) and flash it from bootloader by pressing vol+,vol-,power when device is off.
The SD card isn't damaged , just is write protected now...
Tryed to mount/unmount in CWM but gives an error (because of problem mensioned i think...)
I can buy a new one but i hope it doesn't reaches that point... :x
Put the card in a card reader and mount it on pc. I don' t think that you have problems then.
It is a build-in SD card so i can't reach it... :'(
edit:Just wanted to dl the official 2.3.5 release from Huawei.
But all sites seems to have deleted the file...
Do you have 5.5.0.4 recovery? I had same problem with that.
Try to change your recovery to Genokolars 5.0.2.7 or the official 5.0.2.6 one.
Firstly, you should've updated your base ROM to B522, then flash MIUI. The problem for your case is that the new kernel does not work with the old base.
Here's what you should do:
Flash B522.
Flash CWM.
Flash MIUI.
How can i do this without an sd card that can be written ons?
I Will do this after i found the solution for the SD card problem, then i can copy new files on it...
PS: factory reset also doesn't work because off problems
You change the recovery in PINK SCREEN not in internal sd card.
Change the recovery, then youll be able to access sd, at least I did.

Use another phone or, even a camera. Insert the micro SD to that, connect to USB, make folder dload on the card, copy the update.app into there and do the steps I wrote before.
All already thx for the comments, i just got a new sd card, for the low cost of 8euro i don't bother for more trouble handling with that. So now i'am trying to do everything with my new card.
It was a hard start because it wasn't working well in beginning, i put the files off the first step true pc (in SD holder) and is now installing the new firmware... let's hope that all the rest will go a bit easyer
Thx a lot to all the replyers and specially to Blefish!
Everything is working perfect now!
The only thing i now have to do is search for some nice ring and message tones
Finally i can call and be called again
I have swapped to this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912740
and suddenly it's reporting that my SD card is damaged. I have been using this card for a long time through multiple ROMs without any issues. Looking at the thread, I'm not finding anyone with my problem so far, so it could be something more general.
I did a clean install (wiped all user data and everything). Reformatted the card - no luck. Tried another SD card (an old 1GB micro SD) - still keeps saying "SD Card is Damaged". When I say "OK" and tell the ROM to format it, nothing happens--I get the SD Damaged message back.
Not sure if my ROM installed poorly or I'm having some odd compatibility issues.
Tried formatting from Clockwork mod too - formats successfully, but upon entering the ROM, I get the "Damaged SD" error.

The ROM is installed to NAND with the ODEX thing included (built into the ROM installer options). Just did another factory reset / data clear / reformat / ROM reinstall - still showing that SD card is damaged =/ I guess it's something in the ROM, as it's never been an issue before.
Edit: Solved.. I formatted the SD card in my friend's phone, which has a different version of a CM ROM. Works fine in mine now... odd...
Another SD "broke"
Ok, so now we installed an Android ROM onto the other phone (Paranoid Android for HD2 this time - NAND installation), and the Damaged SD card message is popping up again - with another SD card... that was also working perfectly fine through multiple other ROMs before (is this something JB ROMs seem to break?.. Hard to believe it's a coincidence).
So now I can't fix this second SD card. Tried formatting on my computer - no luck. Formatted in Clockwork recovery - no luck. Trying to format it inside the ROM gives a message that the system is analyzing the card to format it, then nothing happens, and the "Damaged SD" message pops up again... so basically it's not getting formatted. This is on both phones now. I was able to fix the first SD card on an older version of an ICS Android ROM, but as that ROM is no longer installed (bugged out completely, hence trying new ROMs now), both of our phones can't format my card.
Any other way to do this? I really don't understand why the card gets messed up for these JB ROMs, and don't know how to fix it at this point.
For completeness, I did run chkdisk on the card, and it's operating fine, no errors. It works just fine connected as USB storage through MAGLDR, I can install ROMs from it and everything. It just appears corrupted as soon as I enter my Android ROMs.
Use Windows on pc and do slow full format

Note - this is not the "Damaged SD card Issue" i never received ths warning.
Up until last night, my New S4 was running great with my Samsung 64gb sd card...had a ton of programs etc. The thing is, the card was also encrypted by company security policy. Prior to flashing to a new rom i tried to decrypt the card, the the system credientials were locked and wouldn't let me (after removing accounts etc). I don't want to talk about ways i could have decrypted - let's just say i went into the flash with an encrypted card.
Wiped cache, delvik cache, and factory reset
now i don't believe this cleans the internal (SD or storage) as this is where i flashed from
Everything flashed successfully and the new rom is up and running.
Except now i can't access my SD card on my Galaxy. Mounting only results in the device saying "it's safe for removal". I can't even format on this device, but i can on a galaxy s3 and my laptop. And the card works in all those places just fine. The card won't even mount in CWM....EVERY time I insert the card, I'm just told the card being checked for errors and immediately goes to "card is safe for removal"
anyone know what might be going on? This is driving me nuts here!
Just tried reflashing again, this time clearing internal memory too...installing rom from a diffetent external SD card and still no luck. Same result as above.
Again SD card works in all other devices other than s4.
Also note I am using a T MO rom on att device with new kernal. I don't think that should matter though

Had this issue. I used my 64gb card with the stock rom. I flashed CM10.1 this morning onto it and CM10.1 wouldn't read it. Took it out, put it in a SD card adapter and read it on my laptop, copied all contents off. Put it back in my S4, formatted it. It worked. Put card back in laptop, copied content over, worked fine on the S4.
It's a formatting issue. Just back up your data via another device, then format the card in your S4 and youll be fine.
Problem is I can't get s4 to the point where it will format the card. After I attempt to mount it...keeps reverting back to ready to remove message...as if it doesn't want to know the card is there.

Well. Try formatting it in another system. Take it out copy your files off, then format it. (Windows My Computer, right click the flash card, Format). Mac, Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility Select the flash drive, go to erase. Linux, use Gparted. Install via sudo apt-get install gparted if your on a ubuntu/debian based distro.. Then try it in your S4 and see what happens. Maybe the partition got messed up and the S4 is goofing up when it goes to read it, or check partition table or something in a way where other systems might be okay with it still.

Thanks for the input. I did try as you recommended. Even going so far as to format in a galaxy s3- successfully ....a digital camera - successfully ...and my computer systems successfully....all able to read write and format.....galaxy s4 just doesn't seem to care....

Interesting. Well eliminated anything with the card itself or formating.
Have you tried any other microSD's in your S4?
If not I suggest trying that and see what's going on.
If it DOES work then it might be a issue with the card. If it doesn't, something with your S4.
It's either hardware (the microSD card reader is bad somehow) or software (Something in your ROM is messed up). If you want to troubleshoot it to the fullest extent you can do a full factory restore, wiping your phone completely, and loading stock firmware again and wiping \Data partition, as well as cache and see what happens. That would eliminate any software issue.
I have tried other cards and they all work fine. S4 can do everything with these cards. Format...mount...unmount....etc...
Just seems to be this one card in this one device....both card and device work well outside of each other...

There's your problem then. That brand card or something, or that particular card may have something funny going on with it.
I had the same exact thing happen to me yesterday. I was also having issues with my WiFi not working either.
I ended up doing a complete wipe of my S4 in cwm, Odin to stock, updating my software via settings and re-rooting. After doing that my WiFi worked and it would read the 64GB SD card I had.
Luckily, I had a nandroid backup from just a few days prior I was able to revert back to.

Aokp/aosp/cm roms/kernels don't support the exfat format.. So format the SD card to FAT32 to fix the issue check this out.. Lots of threads on this.

Your 64gb sd card is Exfat and a lot of kernels and roms do not support this. Format it to Fat32 and all should be good. But backup everything on your sd card before you do it
don't know how far you have gotten on this, but
i usually use sdformatter from web. i do a "full erase on", takes awhile, but cleans card well and always solved any card issues i had--
Final Solution Atrix 4g to the rescue
Finally put the SD card in my old atrix 4G and reformatted twice and now the card works!
Can't for the life of me figure out why nothing else could format the car sufficiently.
I struggled with this as well just now with my SanDisk 64gb card on my Verizon s4 running Jelly Beans... Solution was to format the card fat32. I did this by executing this file from the command line and issuing 'fat32format x:' after mounting the card obviously. Here is the file fat32format.exe It works perfect now Note: Don't format the card again on your phone or it will end up exFat and the phone will reject the card again.
Hello XDA Community,
I recently encountered quite a frustrating problem. I bought a brand new 64GB kingston microSD card yesterday. I was running stock android 4.4.2 on my SGH-1337m device. I recently flashed the "Kangakat" rom and although everything works perfectly, the only error I can't seem to fix is this SD issue. By flashing this ROM, my device model is now "GT-I9505G" 4.4.4 rather than SGH-1337m.
Upon entering the SD card it first says "preparing SD card" and then seconds later says "SD card safe to remove" unable to mount to the device.
I have tried many solutions offered on this forum but have't been able to find a successful one. I have tried to mount through settings, take out the SD card reboot then enter it again, the SD card IS placed in correctly, and the SD card does work, it is not corrupt (connects to computer perfectly).
I appreciate all your help,
Wasbo.

Sounds to me like your rom or kernel doesn't like exfat formatting which your sdcard probably has.
I would suggest reformatting as fat32 or finding a kernel that works.

Thank you very much for your help saj. I'm going to give that a try later today, I just have two follow up questions. First, do you recommend a kernel that is very effective? And second, my phone have been typically only connecting to 3G even though it's set to LTE preferred, could this be because of the kernel as well?

1) Read this thread and you'll find this issue has been discussed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307779 See the last post for a compatible kernel. Be sure to get the right kernel for your device.
2) Not likely connected to kernel but I could be wrong. Are you sure there is LTE coverage where you are located?
