One is CM7.0.3 and one is CM7.1 lol
Well J's rom is a build, while Z's rom is a port, and hence this is why Z's rom has far fewer bugs.

Can somebody post or pm me a working link to fxp030?
Thanks

HELP!!!
I just wanted to reinstall FXP043, and I guess I have wiped bit too much.
Now when I try to install FXP from CWM recovery I get:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "X10i" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "X10i"
and so on...
Any ideas hot to fix it? I tried to reinstall with stock, but SE Companion doesn't seem to work.

Ok. I've managed to recover my installation. But... I'd like to have fresh, clean FXP043. And now...
First I tried to reinstall update-cm-7.1.0-es209ra-KANG-signed and gapps with recovery.
I've ended up with nothing changed.
Then I flashed SE rom with SE Companion. Runed it once, flashed FXP kernel, installed update and gapps with CWM.
I've ended up with FXP043 hanging up on CyanogenMod logo.
So now... I have a choice. Either use SE stock rom, or FXP that I have backed up.
I'm desperate.

Sure I did. I have FXP working, but I restored with titanium, so now I wanted fresh copy to eliminate possible bugs from programs.
Something strange happened on first time I tried to make it clean, and I couldn't install update zip. Finally I tried factory reset from CWM, and it worked fine. I've got fresh install, and... seems that data bug is gone for now.
Anyway, case closed.

Folder has a kernel.sin inside
Did not install this yet, but...I compared the archive to FXP 030 and looks like the same apps. in folder? Even the thing that Radio.apk (or FM apk) is missing? ?? not sure what to say for now....
Ok, for someone who has no clue about how to install CyanogenMod (would love to give it a try to see if it's even more feature complete than GDX, if that could be possible, at all)...
Could some nice soul post up a "How to install CyanogenMod 7.1 in layman terms", in proper English, detailling the necessary steps?
I take it requires unlocking the boot loader as there's a Kernel in the ZIP file...
That step is already covered around here, how to go from there?

Wait, what? That's the FXP030 ROM?
And they are releasing that as a "stable" (*points finger at CM's download page*)?
Wow, I'm out of words ... seems the definition of "stable" is highly blurred nowadays. I wouldn't call a ROM that's lacking features (fully working camera / FM Radio, according to the "Bugs" in the FXP dev thread) as being a "stable" release. It would seem the "helping hand" from SEMC was rather useless or highly limited to the devices where SEMC themselves made Gingerbread available.
Knowing this I'll proudly stay with GingerDX, which is the most feature complete ROM we have for the X8.

CyanogenMod 7.1 released

check this:

download:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=zeus
What exactly is the difference? What can you do on CM7 that you can't do otherwise? Just wondering if it's worth all the trouble.
This is an official CM rom made by the CM team. This is the final build of CM 7.1 using OS version 2.3.7. Now when the ICS source is out they will start work on CM 9. Expect daily/nightly revisions of this build from the CM devs on this forum though
And in answer to your question. CM is a android rom built from the ground up for each device. Unlike most custom roms, CM is based on the AOSP (Android open source project) and not the latest sony firmware. It's basically a stock android rom, very fast and very stable but includes nothing Sony. It dosen't even include the google apps, you have to flash them as a seperate package
is it worth doing to the xperia play, im on the latest nordic firmware would i lose things such as facebook inside, and the xperia play menus?

here's the guide for getting clockworkmod up and running:

[ROM] B528 based stock rom

I know everyone is all about Jellybean and ICS right now, but I was just messing around now that I am on official gingerbread and put this together. Thought I would share just in case it was useful to someone else looking for a stock experience.
It uses the kernel forumber found from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653699
It uses the system folder from official b528 and I put together the updater script based on TMC 7.2.
The rom is rooted with busybox installed. Other than that it is stock as a stock rom. And yes, it still looks like a tarts handbag just the way Huawei made it.
Get it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?9s6f83o6sr3ss2w
Enables HDR camera and reject call by text.
http://www.mediafire.com/?v33d7330c0ensd9
I have only installed this on my phone with it's Atmel touch screen and as far as I can see everything works and is smooth. I have no kernel source so won't be doing anything with the kernel beyond what is is right now! I installed with cwm 5.5.0.4 from Blefish.
As always, I am not responsible for any bricks, fires or nuclear wars that come about from installing this rom.
Please, please backup with CWM before flashing this.

Very droll, Sir!
LOL
Thanks for your stock rom, nice experience...
needed this rom! thanks
You are all most welcome. Glad it is helpful to people. There are some cool settings in the build.prop here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
HDR camera works great, the message to reject a call is cool too. Will release a build later with these enabled.
probably didnt need a whole new build, but have put one up that enables HDR camera and reject call by message.
Could you please post some pictures about interface of hdr camera (after edit build.prop, sorry i havent seen it yet), and some about photo taken by hdr mode, i had heard somewhere, but i dont know what it is, since im using hdr app in googleplay

I am Unable to root b528.
Plz help me to do soooooooo...
Hi Paul
Did you take the boot.img from original B5xx ROM? I need unmodified ramdisk of B5xx
If I recall correctly, it was pulled from my backup of b526. I don't think I modified it at all.

Developer says (in first post) that this ROM works on Atmel touchscreen. And I think this ROM is really rooted.

Which recovery version?

[Q]Circles after installing Cyanogenmod on Galaxy Y

Hi I am new to android. I decided to install CyanogenMod on my Indian sgy rooted and had stock rom with Touchwiz and android 2.3.6. So I got some instructions from here . Then I downloaded the file of around 120MB.I booted into recovery mode. I selected update from SD card and then selected CWM.zip I got from XDA thread. It entered the CWM and then I selected Format system, Clear cache and clear Dalvik cache. Then I selected the update from SD card and then selected the CM zip file of 120MB I had in my phone. It installed and then it showed no errors. After conformation I rebooted the phone. It showed Samsung Galaxy Y and then turned black with no Samsung logo. I thought it was doing something and then after 3 minutes I touched the screen it began to draw circles wherever I touched. I thought I bricked the phone. After two minutes I turned it off and then again got into recovery mode and then to CWM mode and got my phone back with Nandroid backup I had.
Was the phone installing and I interrupted it by touching it?
Is there any error on my installation steps?
Kindly reply me how to install this CM and tell me if you get the same and give me the link you used for installing CM
Apologies for poor english if you find any.
you installed cm9
to use cm9 you need to install whitexp kernel else you will have the track pad which you experienced
you should also know cm9 is not stable in this device - no network wifi data etc - all it does is boot

Thank you. Could you please guide me through any other ROM or thread that could
help me to install another rom. I am not asking for a best ROM. I am just asking a more
appropriate ROM that I could use as galaxy y is not officially supported by Cyanogenmod.
Also the developer of mod said to install kernel if I restore nandroid backup using CWM will I get stock kernel back.
please don't mistake me that I am asking the best rom.

no you will not get stock kernel back by restoring nandroid backup
to go back to stock rom/kernel you need to flash stock rom firmware via odin
This is because the kernels that support cm will format your system to ext - stock kernel does not support ext so your phone will not boot so you need to flash stock rom via odin to go back to stock
all roms including stock based cm7 and aosp are found in the dev section - read the op - full instructions are given there - if you flash a cm7 or aosp rom you will need to flash percys kernel first and reboot to recovery and format system data cache to remove mount errors
choose one that works best for you
