Otherwise I would've waited and saved on the accruing interest charges - although I could've saved the credit just in case of an emergency of some sort. Hell I've never paid full price for a phablet or smartphone before let alone buy an unlocked version.

I ordered from England @ a place called Clove.co.uk & paid $705 US. But this is for an UNLOCKED PHONE, I will not be bound by any yearly contact with anybody. I'll be free to go to the best carrier with the best coverage & price anytime I want to.
The price is with it to me considering its going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $299 - $399 WITH A 2-year contact. So do I think it worth the price? Hell yes I do!

You scared the **** out of me!!! The difference in pricing comes down to the shipping fees. I pre-ordered early, like when they announced it on September 1. I've been hitting the site daily finally saw a sort of decent price and spanked that monkey baby!
It could also have been the exchange rate too. I called Handtec and the difference comes down to shipping making Clove & Handtec pretty much the same price +/- a few $$$. That isn't enough to make me cancel the order and go with Handtec. Also, Handtec seems a little confused when you ask specific questions relating to specs and other info.
Maybe it was just the hit I dealt with - I dunno. Lastly, they're offering a version"network unlocked" which as he described as "upon boot I would see a network logo and from then on it would be basically unlocked, and that could be taken care of by either rooting the PHABLET or some other kind of software solution". Oh the price for that version is roughly £448.99 if you want to take a chance on that. They are expecting to receive they're first shipment on 10/31 and puter-orders will go out that same day.
Sounds awful confusing comming from a sales rep from such a well known dealer. For me that pretty much sealed Handtec' fate of me NOT buying a phablet from them.

You do realize that the group of numbers right below the Val number is the transaction number? Which means any best buy employee can go print a duplicate receipt and claim it as their own? Just an FYI.

EDIT: OK, I found the thread on Android Forums where some guy claims he had supposed phone conversations with 3 different BB employees at 3 different BB stores and that they all said $600. I'm sorry, I just don't believe it! Even if it is true (which I doubt) I can easily cash in my $50 BB gift card and walk 100 yards to the Sprint store to buy it for $450.

I made the stupid mistake of creating $300 in gift cards to help budget for this. If I get stuck having to pay another 300 there will be problems. They're going to adjust my price or refund my money.
As I understand it, you can use the gift card towards the price of the phone. Just pre-ordered mine today too.

I went in and they instantly gave me cash (paid with debit). I'm sure that you'd be fine getting a refund all the way until June. Just tell them that you don't want a marked up phone, and they hadn't released the price when you paid.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Vendor signs you up for a new 2 year contract with at&t. They choose iphone 4s as your new phone. They keep the 4s and sell it for like $600 bucks. They are then able to offer you the note for $599
I would cut the middle man out and just do it yourself if you don't already have an at&t contract or are not in upgrade status.

The contract is only $200 cheaper. If you instead extend your contract with buying an iphone 4s, you'll come out far ahead. You'll pay $200 (instead of $400) and you can sell it on ebay for $600 at least then use that money for the Note. So in effect the iphone route is at least $200 cheaper for the same end result. That is assuming this is legit, and ignoring ebay fees (use craigslist.)

I also just called them up. I work in NYC and they seem to offer local pickup, so what better way to see if they actually have it in stock then to walk over there...The person that answered said it was out of stock and due back in, in about 2 weeks.

Thanks. I was partially looking at it as a convenience issue (not having to deal with reselling, no fees, no uncertainty of what it ultimately sells for), but you're right, $200, or even $100, is a big chunk for convenience. But ultimately, it's not very convenient if "electropirise" screws you over.

This is a pretty good deal -- except no way to get warranty. Expansys USA has a great reputation on resellerratings.com.

To be honest, I would like a NICE backup phone and for this price it's a hell of a bargain... IMO I know that prices will always fall but if your looking to use this on AT&T or Straight Talk in the US then it's a good deal considering that this device will get the updates quicker (usually) and HSPA+ is fast enough for a lot of people... I will probably ditch one of my Galaxy S 3's to pay for this (mostly) and return this open boxed one that I just got on Monday cause it's acting weird and I paid for a "NEW" item and got an open-boxed N7100 so Amazon can handle that one since it was fulfilled by them... I will probably end up getting a Note 2 on Verizon once the bootloader is unlocked (which you know it will be!) and everything will be grand!! Thanks OP!

There is none, all these unlocked versions won't work on Sprints network...
I'm definitely happy that some are able to purchase these and I wouldn't hate but that seller seems to have some rough (recent) feedback.

Well, we have the Euro conversion if I buy it from there; it'd only be 43 Euro more (not including any taxes, not sure how that works over there) compared to getting it here so it's not too bad.
The question of course, is, what happens with warranty. Probably royally screwed.
And whether it'd be sim locked; probably not as it is off contract..
P. S. You see, Google are fairly clever. They just turn the $ to €. It costs 350 Euro here, that is +/- 450 $.. :banghead::thumbdown:

That doesn't include tax. Chicago has the highest sales tax in the U.S. so you can expect it to be about $550.

No but it's not a long wait and the price is a pretty good one though yes you can get the same contract elsewhere for less at least you'd be getting if direct....Noticed it so thought I should share!

Yeh right, I have actually heard reports of 3 refunding the £70 recently so just yell at them a little and I'm sure you'll get sorted!
Gonna do the same here with tmobile they said delivery friday
Having just got off the phone to the 3 upgrades team they told me that although the website shows the end of the month they're expecting some Silver handsets in today so I could have my new phone by Tuesday. They did say that they couldn't confirm this however and would be in touch to let me know as soon as they could confirm or deny it.
I am however holding off until the 5th of next month anyway as I currently still have to pay £26 early upgrade fee....And they don't seem to want to budge on that haha!!
Oh I've also emailed CPW to see if they're up for matching the new deal released on the 3 website as they're still showing a more expensive tariff so I'll be interesting to see if they do drop the price.

Spoke to tmobile and the sales lady couldn't even confirm when stock will arrive!
Hey just wondering. Has anyone that ordered with 3 managed to ever get them to compromise on anything? It seems they're the only company not willing to bend even the slightest on their deals!
mabye because they have really good deals anyway?
i mean £34 a month for 500 mins 5000 txts and unlimited data and a free phone is pretty good to me.

It is very good but when a third pary website is offering the same contract at £32 a month saving £48 over the contract term it's almost enough to entice me over (be it a small amount) I'm thinking surely 3 could let me off the small amount I owe seeing as it's clear the contract can be offered for less?

You tried speaking to them? They seemed to have no problem with refunding the £69 for me, all depends how desperate they are to get

3 have recently not been very helpful re. small discounts off contracts. I mean their deals are really great, the ultrafast One on the One Plan for 36 a month when LTE is available at the end of this month is a really good deal.
but even though you may have been an old customer, they just offer the same deals that are available on the website for new customers.
i pain 69 upfront day before, and have to collect from the store today. called them on 333, they 'have no record of the 69 payment, please discuss with the store you purchased from, they may be able to help you.'

Yes I hear you. I spoke to them a little while ago and asked why if I was leaving 3 would the cost be £26 and if I was to upgrade it would be the same price? Surely as I'm staying with you by upgrading you should be able to sort me out? They just basically said no lol. the One is def LTE ready and will get it as for no extra cost on 3 as soon as they upgrade to LTE.
Just got off the phone to 3 again and they've said the lowest they can take my pay-off to is £23....I just don't get why they can't just ignor that last little bit, I mean come on! lol

that's on buymobilephones.net some brilliant deals on there.....and no they don't include insurance
