My sister and I both have Atrix 4g's - and hers was stolen, but she didn't care too much because (being the spoilt little girl she is) already has an iPhone 4s not more than a week after getting it stolen...even after I told her it could be tracked.
She said if I could track the phone, I could have it - so I've been trying to track it via myMotoblur

This is all I ever get when I attempt to track it, I have the same phone and it always loads within 10 minutes.
I have a feeling it's off or something - what do you suggest I do?
Probably the thief didn't have a charger?
Hey, cool. Good luck!
Post everything that happens on here, if you don't mind. I'd be very interested in seeing how this turns out.

i'm pretty sure it's off until he sells it and the new owner turns it on.
What if they did a factory reset? Would that clear the blur account? I always used lookout or seek droid so idk... can blur track other means than the blur account being on the phone?
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
A factory reset will make it impossible to track as it wipes the blur info.

I downloaded androidlost on mine.. its awesome..
If its lost/stole I can take pics with both cameras.. record sound off the mix.. make the alarm go off.. get the last 10 texts sent.. wipe phone.. ton of other stuff..
Since she already has a new phone on that line the SIM is now burned, which means no go on looking for it even with something like lookout installed.

Well an imei search by carriers or the police can find it, you just need the receipt with the imei on it. At least that is possible here in Europe.

It's possible in the states too, if you know what hurdles to go over and which hoops to go through. Very low on the priority list here.

if you dont do it within the first 24 hours, its probably wiped.
you could also try the app, Plan B - it uses the OTA app install to installer and get gps coords of your phone:

I bet she just wanted an phone.. I bet its sitting in her drawer with the battery pulled. .. lol
A girl had her phone stolen at my work, she contacted Verizon and had them track down the phone. The person who stole it was caught and charged, she got her phone back. Its all about how you talk to the cs rep.

I have used it for 2 days, hasn't shut off. Will update if it starts happening again but I don't know if it will turn off, seems to be solid now.
Exchange it.

I'm not sure how it is with t-mobile, but for me, if i am under contract, the Service provider deals with sending the phone off for repairs. I would start there.
If you are lucky, they may even give you a loaner while your device is off to be repaired.

Funny, same thing happened to me but with my search button. Its never lit up anymore, been like that for a few months.
Also, I thought once you unlock the bootloader you get a big warning about voiding the warranty?

What he said.... I have returned devices with the super user apk still installed, they take it, I don't understand why people actually think that the guys behind the register actually know what they are doing ( no offense if you work at a carrier's store). The majority of the time they just don't know what they are talking about. Anyways, have you tried leaving it under heat? It seems to come back until it gets cold again.

I dont know if its just the store I go to (Kaahumanu Maui, if youre lucky enough to be here) or if its sprint policy to help the customer out. When i first got my phone in June I jacked it up starting with getting water under the screen from the retarded protector kit, and secondly messing up the root process and bricking it. I took it back and told them Norton antivirus kept asking for a password which i never did put in (really did happen) but I didnt mention it happened during the root process which screwed the whole thing up... They tested it it wouldnt get past fastboot so they Just handed me a new phone no questions asked and for $0.
Screw up two on my part. I have been trying to get hdmi working with no luck. So the genius I am decided to clean the port with a qtip soaked in alcohol. It didnt work. So I unrooted and took it back to the store. Told them the Hdmi isnt working and I dont have insurance. They check it out and see the water indicator inside the phone (right next to the hdmi port! so dont clean it with anything wet) was red, also the hdmi connections were corroded. But the tech tells me dont worry usually you would have to just buy a new phone but this is what we will do. Pay $35 now and we will say we fixed your phone, then you can add insurance as its allowed after a repair. After that they just reported that I needed a new phone haha so i got a new phone for about $50. Im cancelling the insurance after a couple months and I get the new one all rooted and set up . Hope your experience is as good as mine.

Or...just call, complain about the slow data speeds and they'll just offer to swap out your phone, since that's obviously cheaper than actually fixing their network.
I believe I have a logical explanation. I about 2 months ago, found a sprint store that would do service on my phone. While there they informed me that sprint had up until that time, (about 2 months ago) had a very loose warrenty exchange policy. The phone could have physical damage, and as long as you reported a "Warrenty Issue" they would exchange it. They tightened it up, any signs of physical damage they won't service it. If the power button area gets 2 cracks, they won't service it. It was nice of them to do that little paperwork shuffle to get you insurance. good luck!
I was one of the lucky bunch who got in on the Amazon deal at launch. I paid for overnight shipping, so I was excited to home to play with it.
I plugged in the AC plug to charge it, but it turned on with some Android message. I left it and it eventually turned on. I heard about the firmware update so I checked Status and the Android version was 2.2! Also it mentions "phone" in a lot of popups (e.g. when I am shutting down it asks "Are you sure you want to turn off your phone?").
It also does not charge while plugged in. How do I get to recovery mode to reinstall Honeycomb?
Yeah, gonna need some pictures before I believe this...
Yeah pics please. Are you sure its even an Transformer? lol

And i would say why you want to install 2.3 by urslef. Just send it back. It might be a defective piece.
yeah, i had to make my first and only post since I made this account 7 months ago to tell you that I need to see pics before I belive it.
Same question, in all seriousness - although it's possible that you have some pre-release firmware that was added by mistake, can you confirm that this is actually a TF101? The model number is on the back, right at the bottom.
If it really is a TF101, then I would call their CS department and ask them. And go right to an L2 because the L1 techs are pretty useless.

Look at the build version, "daily-userdebug -test-keys".
Maybe it is some test version that they use at the factory, and this one didn't get reflashed to honeycomb. Could have some interesting stuff on it.
Yup. He wasnt lying.

NOT awesome! I'm thinking of returning it to Amazon, but it's no where in stock so I probably won't get a replace anytime soon.
I emailed ASUS and will call them tomorrow.
so i flashed the stock kernel because im going to the sprint store today. i figured since the most recent kernel blocks root and a custom recovery, i figured id just flash it and see what happened rather than odin stock. i was on stock build with nubernel v1 with clockwork 3.1.0.1.
soooo anyway, i did a back up, then flashed the kernel with clockwork. low and behold clockwork is gone, but im still have the "reboot in recovery" option when i hold the power button frome the old kernel. im also still ad free as i havent removed that app and superuser yet.
just thought it was strange.
game on.

This is straight from the top. Basically if you put your SIM in a phone that is blacklisted, it will automatically suspend your line until you get another phone. I will try to get a copy of the memo up here at some point today, but the system is active immediately, so be careful.

The rollout of blocklisting has been pushed back for undisclosed reasons. It's still happening, but more time-sensitive resources are showing that the rollout has been temporarily paused.
Also, as stated in the memo, this will actually only apply to stolen devices unless the customer requests otherwise. In the case of lost, suspension is still the recommended action.

They are making a cross carrier list now from what I read somewhere.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Yep, CDMA carriers have done this with ESNs for ages. The big difference now is that by October the list will be compiled and shared by all carriers, and it'll work for GSM.
Also, as of today it looks like blocklisting is active at ATT.

We had our first example of this earlier this week. Someone came in with a phone they had just "been given" and a few mins after putting their SIM card in, their account was suspended.
He called in while in the store and was told he couldn't get it reactivated for 30 days. The only thing that I'm not sure of is whether the phone was blacklisted by the person who lost it or by at&t automatically when reported.. Still trying to figure that part out.
