Ok I think I'll answer this, but bear with me as it's NOT easy or for the faint of heart. If you read this and you DO NOT feel comfortable I would recommend you not giving this a go.
Before you start ANY of these steps below, MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP YOUR FILES BEFORE REPLACING THEM. I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED FOLLOWING THESE STEPS! You have been warned.
1) Visit the website above and run through the steps to get the battery images you want. For the purposes of this tutorial/howto I am not covering how to change anything else (KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid).
2) The easiest ones to change are the Version A-I ones, just choose which battery set would work best for you on your phone and click "Next"
3) Choose "Do not include icons" and click next. The icons it is talking about here are the signal, wifi, usb etc notification bar icons and as I mentioned I will not cover how to change those here.
4) Leave "Do not change notification status bar" selected and click next. Again I'm not covering that here.
5) You can choose a different boot anim if you want, they are very easy to upload to your phone and you can figure out where they have to be put yourself with no problems. IMPORTANT: If you do change the boot animation, make sure you choose the correct type of rom you have from the dropdown selection.
6) Upload your existing framework-res.apk (using something like DroidExplorer, navigate to /system/framework and paste it onto your desktop, then upload here). This will update the relevant files in your framework-res.apk automatically. (If you cannot obtain your existing framework-res.apk I cannot guarantee method 2 will work, sorry but feel free to try)
7) Replace your framework-res.apk (via DroidExplorer or your chosen ADB browser) on your phone and reboot. Voila!
This worked for me on shubcraft 2.0 drop mode but obviously I cannot guarantee it will work for everyone. Please remember my warnings above that this is not guranteed.
hello, thanks for your quick help, but it doesn't work for hyperdroid rom V1.7
any idea ?

there is another far more complicated way around it, but it really does take about half an hour to work out.
Basically, you need to get your framework-res.apk and extract it with winrar or something similar (an apk is basically just a zip file) and find the folder called res/drawable-HDPI. this is where all the icons for things like your battery icons live.
Copy and paste the new icons from someone elses framework-res or even one you download from the website above into this folder and replace the drawable-HDPI folder into your framework-res.apk, replace it onto your phone and reboot.
Again, this is a quick description of a much lengthier way of doing it but it does work. Also, my disclaimer in the post I made before still stands, do this AT YOUR OWN RISK and do NOT complain to me if something breaks. If you don't fully understand, don't do anything.
I tried the kitchen method, but I receive a huge error log after uploading the framework apk
is the page currently partly down?

It doesn't seem to work all that well with frameworks from our current modded builds. I've tried it with a rooted desire framework (from my gf's desire) and that worked. Evidently all the work that the devs do on our hd2's make them very different to other android builds. the second method I posted (adding the png's to your existing framework) works perfectly.

This method will not work with the battery icons which shows all 100% increments. This method will only work for the standard battery icons, which only involves like 12 battery icons.
In order to add the 1% increment readings in the battery, it involves modifying xml files to read and associate the correct battery icons at each increment.
can you give a tut how to add the version a manually?
nvm, I got it!
Hi there... I'm trying to install a circular battery indicator using this guide -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7172329&postcount=2
I go to the online kitchen and select my battery alternative and the upload my framework-res.apk file and get a zip-package in return.
The guide says to reboot into recovery mode but that doesn't work since it will only make a normal reboot.
I opened the zip file and copied the framework-res.apk file inside and copied it to the system/framework folder using RootExplorer. This DID give me the circular battery after rebooting but unfortunately it will keep rebooting in an endless loop (don't worry, I have a backup of my whole SD card).
There were another folder in the zip package containing the following files.
\META-INF\CERT.RSA
\META-INF\CERT.SF
\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF
\META-INF\COM\\GOOGLE\\ANDROID\update-script
Does anyone know what to do with those files, please!!??
Brgds... /Tubgirl
So it seems like the other files are only needed for the recovery mode procedure and framework-res.apk is really the only file needed.
Too bad it didn't work. I like the circle battery but am not willing to change ROM for it since the ROM I'm using is rock stable. MDJ FroYo Sense Clean v. 2.4

Thanks for the tip... it looks great and I'll make sure to use it if I ever upgrade to MDJ FroYo HD v.4.6.
I'm on MDJ FroYo Sense Clean v. 2.4 and even though the file you suggested actually installed the circular battery icon (which looked excellent) it screwed up lots of text strings in my Android. I guess the framework-res.apk really has to be customized for the exact correct rom you're using.
Thanks anyway... I still hope anyone knows the answer.

The only one I found is for HTc SENSE rom....
Where can I find one for cm 6.1?
You can use the online kitchen from HERE to build your own. You just need to upload your framework-res.apk file from your CM build (or from any ROM). You cand find that file in the CM ROM ZIP file you've downloaded, in "system/framework" folder. Just extract the file and upload it on the site when prompted. You can choose among several battery types (including circle) and icons for notification bar

Yup. It is pretty straight forward actually. Just choose CM 6.1 for framework. Handpick whatever you like and flash it.

Not quite necessarily. In any case you'll end up having a flashable zip. I prefer to go through all steps that allows me to customize whatever I want...batery icons, colors, notification icons, startup animation and so on. The wizzard is pretty straight forward you'll see, it's not the case to make any worries

Hi, i'm tried to create a theme for my LG Optimus one (P500) with the UOT Kitchen, but when trying to apply the theme with the theme manager (i've mik's port of CM7 v6.5.2 installed on my phone) says that the theme is bad compiled.
I select mods for battery, icons (status & notif. power), glowing (only overscroll), and window animation. in the "file upload" section i select amend scripting (because i don't have an HTC desire and with the edify scripting the zip file can't be flashed on the recovery), with the patch9 autofix & theme chooser preview enabled. In the file upload section i select "CM7 theme", and as base theme i use Androidian.apk (downloaded from xda-dev thread).
Next, i tried to flash the zip file from the recovery (amonra) and the flash do sucessfull, but when i go to apply the theme through the theme chooser, it says "theme bad compiled". i tried install the apk directly to the phone and the result is the same: "theme bad compiled" . Some tips or solution?
PS: I tried different combinations, like only battery icons modded, only status bar colors modded, and get the same result
Thanks in advance

disable Theme preview in File Upload section if you having problems applying theme.
Theme must be installed as normal apk. Without preview look very carefully in theme chooser list to find installed theme (it will be between other themes).

Now works, thanks
This message is for mendozinas. i do thank you for having a kitchen like this to customize pretty much anything for my phone (p500) Optimus one. I was informed that the kitchen will not support ics based so i flashed over Slimgen 1.6.0 (android 2.3.7) i just made some themes for the rom, havent tried them yet. I did upload the Framework.res and SystemUI.apk of the rom so hopefully it will work this time. I was wondering If you can add my rom (well the rom im using) on the kitchen list. SlimGen 1.6.0 here is the link to download the rom itself. im sure you already know.
http://code.google.com/p/slimgen-pro...downloads/list
Please reply back if you recieved my message. thanks agian. i do appreciate it. I sent you a PM figuring it will get to you quicker but i realized you must have many Pm's about certain questions. So maybe this will do the trick.
I tried to trouble shoot myself, still in early dev mode for me (learning the ropes) but i made a copy of the rom i have and plugged in what was from the UOT file that was giving to me from the kitchen. I made a flashable zip on my desktop and place it on the root of my sdcard. Booted into recovery...flashed it but still i get the same message. Am i using a correct rom for this or what?
Im attaching the UOT file i made so if u may need to look at it its there. any info you want from me just ask, im very greatful for the help, would really like to make different themes on my phone for start then move to rom modding .
I would really like a step by step if possible so i may get this theme up and flashedon my phone so i may make different ones for future needs.
Thanks again and hopefully i will be hearing from you.
my animations are not workin
i selected d fold animations but they r nt workin..? everythin else is fine jus d animations.. ?

Because the original ROM thread for Sebastiaan15's amazing Runnymede gets flooded and spammed with theme-related questions, themes and problems to skins and customization, it has been suggested to start a new thread to discuss all these things in one place.
So let's do this here and feel free to share and participate

Flashable Theme.zip´s now availabel. Look on bottom of the post !!!
--------------------------------------------------------
Include theme into Rom.zip:
1. Download the ROM zip file.
2. Download the desired theme
3. Move the files from the zip theme to the ROM zip:
a. /system/app to /sd-ext/app_s
b. /system/framework to /sd-ext/framework_s.
4. Copy the NEW ROM in your SD and flash it like a new ROM.
On STOCK Hboot is the framework on system and app_s on sd-ext
With 7zip you can easily open the zip files without extracting and copy the new files into the rom.zip.

Include theme after Rom flashing:
You can adb them in, or put them in the rom before you flash.
Or you can use QtADB, if you are not so familiar with adb or have your rom allready configured,
there you have an explorer and you can easily change the files after flashing.
1. Boot to recovery (volume down & power) and mount your sd-ext/system folder, depends on Stock/Cm7r2 HBoot.
2. Use QtaDB to copy the files to your device. Doing this form recovery is saver then from running device.
you get QtADB here http://qtadb.wordpress.com/download/
You may have to give the new files the rigth permissions, same as the old files have, if you copy them into the booted device.
Use Root Explorer and long press on the new files.
Then you can change the permissions otherwise your rom crashs.

Dont flash the zips from the desire hd treat
download the theme
unpack it with winrar
you see files and folder in it
example:
theme zip has a file in system/framework folder
your rom has the sd-ext/framework_s folder
take the files from the theme (system/framework/)
and put does files in sd-ext/framework_s/
for apps the same and so on.......enz...
you can adb them in

If you are going to do a fresh install just download a theme.zip, unzip it and copy the files from the system\framework\ folder into the sd-ext\framework_s\ folder of your rom.zip.
Do the same with the stuff from the system\apps\ folder to the sd-ext\apps_s\ folder.
Then just flash it as usual.
If you already have a ROM installed, just push the according files into these folders. I guess using Root Explorer might work, too.
But havn´t tried either.
Flashable Runny AIO Download link is addet to 3rd post.

On Stock Hboot the frameworks folder is still in system, but the apps are in sd-ext/app_s. So you can´t flash the .zip files, you´ll have to move the apps to sd-ext/app_s.
If you take a closer look into the theme.zip and the rom.zip you´ll now what to do.

I am using the OPB-Rayford85 Runny-Blue Ed.V.3.37RV/Skins for Runny 3.3 theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265225 and it´s beautiful. (Only the 3G indicator icons are a bit...strange...but it´s ok.)
Root Explorer might work, too.
But havn´t tried either.

Weird, too. You sure you used a compatible theme?
Other than that...no idea, sorry.

One more thing which is scratching my head...
How is this possible to just put only TWO file instead of META INF, SYSTEM, DATA etc.. into ROM's framework and get complete THEME..
If a theme.zip is completely used to flash then how is this possible with just two files...
NULLINGER??? got some idea?????

It should look like this in the framework_s folder
this is my themed v5.0 framework folder
And if you wish to have the apps themed as well , you have to put the apps from them folder system/app -----> sd-ext/app_s
This should work
Edit: In OtADB you have 2 explorers, one shows your system and the other your phone.
You can drag & drop files from system to any folder on your phone.

In framework_s folder are only files no folder this is right, replace the existing files with the files from the theme
