Do I need or what do I need sim card for on Acer a500 n a100 and if so where to buy them thanks
The A500 and A100 don't use sim cards. It is only the A501 that can accept a SIM card. Some people with custom ROMS were able to plug in USB 3G dongles into A500s but that is about it.

There is no 3G on the a500. It just shares the same OEM, BIOS and case as the up-coming a501. There is no SIM card hardware in the a500. Even if you went so far as to crack the tablet open and solder a sim connector, there's no guarantee it would work.
thor2002ro started developing a USB 3G options for the a500 but I'm not sure how far it will get and it's certainly not supported by Acer as it will likely require root.
If you need 3/4G - get a 3/4G enabled tablet. The a500 is WI-FI only.
A501 will coming soon in Q2 as notice from AT&T maybe in this summer. Does slot sim card for any sim size or only engage with AT&T? I live outside the U.S and my network provider just only 3G band. I afraid that do not compatible with size. It had better be in the size with same standard slot for all.
I want to check if my sgt 7.7 is in fact locked. I've tried all the possible secret codes for the galaxy tab 7, but they do not work for the 7.7 When I put my sim card in the device it will not connect to the network I need.
Every time is says "your sim card does not allow a connection to this network"
I don't know anyone I can switch sim cards with so I could test. I am a foreigner in Korea. Thanks for the help
How can thw Tab be locket when it'a not available at any network provider yet? Maybe just your SIM is broken... Did you ty he card in a diferent device or a different SIM in your Tab?

Which band and protocols does you P6800 support?, look on the box if it says GSM, WCDMA, CDMA etc... if your network provider does not support the bands and protocols avalible in you P6800 you might need to find another subscription.

I currently have a Xoom tablet with a data plan and figured it be nice to have an LTE USB modem as well. Just curious, but has anyone tried moving the LTE SIM back-and-forth between these two devices?
I don't even know if USB modems have a user-accessible SIM though (don't own one yet).
Any thoughts?

depdends on the class of sim cards...
example...
if its a 3g sim..
should genereally work for all 3g devices,,,
Some of the LTE USB Dongles I took a look at have User Accessible SIM Cards. So, they should fit right in. Also, I don't think you'd have and problems since both are only using data.
Just do some shopping and find yourself a nice USB Dongle that allows you to access and change the SIM card.

Verizons LTE SIM cards will be LTE only since they don't have any pre-LTE GSM networks.

I switch SIMs all the time between my LTE Xoom, my Novatel 4501 USB stick, and my HTC Thunderbolt. One SIM has a much larger data plan on it than the other and I use it in my USB stick when I'm away from home and need the data (or I just tether out of my Xoom- VZ didn't restrict that in the SW).
I have tried multiple ICS ROMs since they first started appearing and have not been able to get WiFi to work on any of them when my Zain (Iraq) sim card is in. Everything works fine with my T-Mobile sim card or either sim card with a Gingerbread ROM.
Is there anything I can do get it working?
Edit: Previously connected networks will show up but no other networks are discoverable when the Zain card is in.
hi, i boughty recenlty thinkpad tablet 10.1" with physical buttons on its side! i have put my sim card! but i cant find where i can use the 3g option????????
thks a lotttttttttt :crying:
No one??
Hi.
Please notice that there Thinkpad Tablets may or may not come with the internal 3G card. The slot of putting the SIM card shows up on every model.
It can be possible that your tablet does not come with the internal 3G modem.
There are some more networks options that shows up when you tablet has the 3G Modem.
