Using (a rather old) CM7 Nightly. I couldn't find out what is causing it until recently, where I saw comments on CM7 nightly builds. So I'm curious whether there is a fix for this...
Are you talking about SoD? There has not been a fix yet but there are many workarounds posted all over the forums. I personally use tasker to turn wifi on/off when screen is on/off.

I searched and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163441&highlight=SoD
date to the thread was back in july... and it says the problem is fixed... confused now and I just flashed nightly 221, maybe it'll be better...
It not fixed. Use current information.

Still SoD. Although people are reporting it happens less than before. With my workaround I have had no SoD in 3+ months.

I have been on CM7 for several months and now Nookie Froyo for a few days but wifi keeps going out and I have a difficult time restoring it.
I don't even remember if the stock Eclair had stable wifi.
What Nook ROM has a fully functional wifi?
Edit:
cm7 nightly 87 was good for me but I only stayed on that rom for 24 hours due to other issues.
Phiremod 6.2 has been great for couple days.

Try a stable version of CM7.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
I have. Used all 3 stable. Maybe should try 7.0 again.

I've been rocking Phiremod 6.2, which is built on CM7.02, for a couple of weeks now. Never had any WiFi issues, either with my home router (Verizon supplied) or free networks at Panera and Barnes & Noble.
I haven't had a single issue with wifi drops while running CM7 stables or nightlies for a couple of months now. I see posts where other people are having problems using the exact same versions I've been using (a variety of nightlies for several weeks, then stable 7.0.3 for a couple of weeks, now most recently n86). Have no idea why some people have been having problems, while I (and many others) have not. Rather odd.

I'm on N87 right now and I'm having zero issues as we speak.
I'm on N87 and I have noticed that the display icon will turn white sometimes but ill still be connected to the network...but I've been with the nightlies since day one and never had an issue when I couldnt connect to a network.
Thanks for everyones responses. I am now on N87 with no problems overnight. I had it charging with wifi to never turn off on and it remained connected this am. Will continue to monitor.

Perhaps the problem is with ota build. Most here are rooted with custom rom. Are you by chance running a custom rom or the stock one that was sent over the air?

phone is default updated OTA
Then perhaps you can root and install a custom rom. It seems to me when I download a custom rom ota, its more likely to be corrupt. If its stock you want, it's available here. Better yet you might try Pete's Bugless Beast- stock with some additional enhancements. That way you get the stock a stock experience ... but better

It was the other way round for me, I've only had the rebooting issue on my 9023 when I was using a couple of different cm roms, and it went away when I went back to stock. Have tried some other non cm roms, but not for long enough to show any effects.
No reboot, fortunately
That's an issue with 2.3.1, just update to 2.3.4 ota and it should be gone

The CM reboots and sod are know bugs for CM and many have reported the problem stems from the flashing alternative kernel. I've been on GLADOS CFS @ 1.4 for several days now and have had absolutely no problems.

I've never had any random reboots on my NS4G...nor have I even heard of this being an issue with the NS line, at all. I've been flashing new roms/kernels like crazy for the last 3 months I've been using this phone...the longets I think I've gone without a single flash is probably 4 days....and I've never had a single hardware issue of any kind These phones seem really rock-solid to me!!
They've turned a Samsung hater into a Samsung fan overnight!!! I'd buy a GN in a heartbeat if I hadn't JUST bought my NS4G lol
I finally got to install the latest AOKP after realizing it needed the ICS bootloader. But whenever I turn off the screen it instantly reboots. It does this every single time. It would do this back on one of the old versions of AOKP that I was able to install on the GB bootloader.
Anyone else experience anything like this? Or any ideas how to fix it? I'm assuming it's some kind of kernel issue, but I don't see many alternatives for the A500 like you do for other devices.
Thanks in advance.

Well there other roms based off acers ics that for me is running good.
For aokp your going to have to wait till cm9 gets more updates, so that aokp can run smoother. Maybe try aokp agian after the cm guys for our device gets nights running.

Yeah, I was running (I think it's called..) Flexreaper. That would run fine. But I run AOKP on my GNex so I'd like to keep them both the same, lol.
I might have to switch until this issue gets ironed out.

Hi all.
I've been looking at different threads and a few people talk about it but not seen any fixes.
When I receive a call I get a 3-4 second delay before the screen wakes up meaning I don't know who is call or able to answer the call.
I'm running PA4 with r201 FK
If any one knows a fix please share.

Even we are facing similar issue on Note 2. Tried few things but issue still persists.
Seemingly got something to do with some service.
So it's not device related then?

Was just using my phone and tookna call, even when screen was on it still took a long time to show who was calling!?!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Seems to be getting worse! I have to wait for about 5 seconds now, or maybe it already did.
Does no one have a fix?
Thinking about reverting to stock to see if that fix's it then maybe flash each thing one at a time and see when it breaks.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
If you're playing around with kernel's and under clocking the CPU this can affect how quickly the phone wakes up. But my phone has a delay of a few seconds before I am am aware of a call coming in. Maybe it will be fixed in a future update.
Phone : Nexus 4 /Rom : cataclysm / Kernel : Stock.
I've only installed them the same as others but they don't seem to suffer the same problems.
Any one have any fixes?

If you have DU Battery Saver or any similar app which puts your device on low CPU usage upon locking, then uninstall it. It worked perfectly in my case.
So I have been using CM11 for a while now on my Verizon G2.....
Why the heck hasnt the random reboot, lockup, and sound issue been resolved? This has been going on since the start of CM11. At random during the day, my phone will just reboot mid task. Or I try to wake up my phone and no response. Then the notification sounds stop working and will not play if I go into sound/notification settings. Sound works fine everywhere else.
I love CM...but these issues pretty much kill the experience. I would of figured they would of been fixed by now.

You are the biggest troll in the G2 forums.
On stock firmware of any kind, make, or dev I have no SOD's or lockups on my VS980.
CM11 is the least stable of the 4.4 AOSP roms. I get multiple SOD's and sound issues daily on it, PA and Mahdi are a bit better, but still unstable. I can expect a reboot a day or so. Once the VS980 gets its update things should clear up.

i just thought its stock also... because when you read the AOSP threads like 9 out of 10 complaints are from VS980.
then its just crap on CM.

Didnt have anything to do with my apps installed. Was getting several SODs per hour when I installed CM11 and no apps. I finally installed the Paek kernel and so far after 18hrs or so, only 1 SOD. So it appears a new kernel greatly reduces, if not eliminates, the SODs.
Not sure why CM cannot get this resolved but the new kernel, still great battery life and things are running a little smoother as well.
