Dutch Language

Hey guys,
My first post here
Nice forum!
Getting a XDA II soon with the latest UK rom installed.
My question is: Is the Dutch language included in this update?
Thanks
Marcel
aka Panja
as far as i know you need to get a special rom to get other languages
they are as far as i know released somewhat later then the english ones
and people seem to have a bit more problems with them
kinda like normal windows in other languages
Ahh ok...
I have a Smartpone atm, SPV e200 and I can choose a few languages.
Ofcourse a Smartphone can't coop with the XDA II.
Than it will be English
Thanks for the reply.
i would think that a pda have a lot more text which had to be translated then a smartphone
guess ms also think that smartphones are more for everybody and not just l33t d00ds like pocketpc's
though you could keep yourself updated with the forums some dutch upgrade may be out there somewhere
know that people talk about french and spanish roms once in awhile
Thanks m8
I will be looking forward if it will be released.
But probably not an o2 rom (dutch) than because o2 doesn't excist anymore here in Holland.
Telfort became o2 and than changed back to Telfort again...
o2 is gone in NL...
Cheers

The Swedish keyboard and xT9 are included in the stock ROM but need activating in the registry. It's a great phone, very small, with a fast processor and plenty of RAM.
oh thats is wonderful, thx for all help

QWERTY and Qwerty are the same thing. What are u saying?
The qwerty keyboard of the euro x10 will most probably be the same as all x10s. (of course the japanese x10 will have a jap keyboard)

[Q] language on the units from U.K.

Hi,
I am sorry if this has already been mentioned, but what languages can you set in the Z's brought from the U.K. ?
I live in Denmark and would very much want a danish UI (the z is not coming to Denmark anytime soon).
Maybe some of you who get the phone tomorrow can be kind to rapport what languages are included.
Thanks

Some time ago I have Desire Z ROM installed on my HD2 and Danish was on the list
I think you can select language on your first boot (looks like you can on Desire HD).. the thing you should consider, is the hardware keyboard. Remember that there will be a nordic version of the keyboard on the Desire Z, which you won't get if you order from the UK
Hi,
That sounds very promising - but i would still appreciate if some of the new Z owners could confirm this
(i am planning on buying it from handtec..)

I have not just heard about it, after googling desire z and nordisk, I also have a picture to prove it
Edit: Picture was huuuge. Check this link: http://images.gfx.no/727/727400/nordtast.jpg
Oh..
OK! - thanks a lot Porcelina - that probably mean i have to wait for the nordic release then
You're welcome.. and maybe you'll find comfort in knowing I'm waiting for the nordic keyboard myself
Ah nice - you're from Denmark too?
I just suspect the Z wont be hitting Denmark anytime soon (and my old Palm Pre is dying / falling apart..) And they've just got Desire HD in stock...
No, not from Denmark.. but I'm from one of the other nordic countries
Not sure when it will arrive here either.. my order says nov 20th as an estimated date - but they said nov 15th for Desire HD and suddenly they started dispatching the orders last week
Hrm... on the Canadian one on first boot I had a list of languages but wasn't paying attention... once mine is charged I'll see if I can change to Danish.

[Q] other languages

currently there are only 7 languages available... is there any way to implement more in a future release (custom rom or patch)? i' ve read somewhere that this is a google subject and acer can't do anything about it... (i think a user send an email to acer about it and they answered that)...
honeycomb should have more languages till now...
try mutiling keyboard its free in the market

The problem is easily solved through market for the keyboard languages.
But the issue of the honeycomb ui, can' t be solved with an application...
By the way, multiling is a nice one, i use smart keyboard but the layout isn' t satisfying in landscape mode, so i'll give it a try...
The keyboard is not the problem... the keyboard has a lot more languages than the Ui.
I´m going to make a call to the norwegian support tomorrow and ask about more languages and especially Norwegian for my part.
I got mine from Scotland a week ago, and hoped it had all the languages as i´m used to from my HTC phones. But no such luck.
This device has now been released in Norway, and i hope they can give me the rom.

If you have any info regarding this issue, post it here please...
I have now spoken to the Norwegian support team and they say that as long as I have bought this outside of scandinavia, it will not support other languages. And they have not got any rom to give out. So I can eathe wait for an official scandinavian update or install what he called a "unlisenced" program/rom from some developer. If I installed from a developer it would not take away the warranty on the product only take away the support on the program.
So i hope someone can take a scandinavian A500 and get out the rom and post it here so we can get support on more languages. The scandivavian models usually have a lot of languages installed.

I doubt it that there is a scandinavian version because acer mentioned that it is google's issue the language support. I bought it here in Greece and installed there are: english, french, german, italian, spanish and two chinese i think.
I'm surprised by the fact that they advised you to install a custom rom... custom rom demands root, root means hacking, can harm the device (if you perform overclock for example or bricking the device if something goes wrong) in any way the warranty is over... as far as i know from my mobile phones so far, there isn't such "dual" warranty, one for software and one for hardware simply because software (especially custom) can damage hardware...

I totally agree with what you are saying. I was a bit shocked that he sugested what he did. I will contact one of the stores here in Norway that sells the A500 and ask if there is Norwegian language on the one they sell. If it is that's great....if its not...then Google have some job to do on the gingerbread. We can't live with just those languages.
Edit: Just got of the phone with a norwegian retaler and they could confirm that the A500 that they sell do have Norwegian UI.
One of the staff had just bought one himself, any could confirm it.

Acer support just mailed me saying that Greek language isn't supported by Honeycomb... The don't know when it will be implemented and they advised me to download some apps... I have to say i'm a bit disappointed... i don't know who to blame though... Acer or Google...

Hi,
I have the same issue. I bought a Iconia outside of scandinavia. I would like the swedish ui.
The thing is that i got a System update message yesterday. I havn't installed it yet. It doesn't say what it updates just that it is a 1.126.03 version.
I guess this is the build number. I currently have the 1.016.03. I wounder what version the scandinavian models have.
Language pack CD ?
Same problem here...only 1 language available...
I called ACER support BNL and they told me that it is possible for retailers to order a language pack CD from Packard-Bell.
Next week i will try to get this so called language pack CD.
If not...maybe somebody else can try to get it ?
Greeting to you all...

Which is false.
My Acer is imported from Austria and yes the only language selectable is German but you can use English language. Just install morelocale (free on market) and that's it. My device is in English now.
