I keep bouncing back and forth between stock 2.1 and beta 4....i can't make up my damn mind. Haven't had any problems on beta 4...but then I miss the modded se camera app by 28spawn....and of course video.

I'm also waiting for the beta to get stable before I try. After all we all know that 2.1 is the end of story for X10 while X10 is capable of running 2.3 or even higher.
One big thumbs up for the XDA Developers.
There is an offical list somewhere here on xda id link it but im on my phone

I've made a list for the 2.1.A.0.435 junk apps. I'll post it here when I'm back home.
But the list is for Root Explorer.

That would be most helpful, i have already removed some - using the 'clean' option in flashtool, but i de-selected quite a few from the automatic list as i was a bit unsure!
So... Can somebody explain to us which apps are doing what so we can choose what to remove and what to not remove? Not wisepilot quadrapop etc but the other ones with the confusing names.. Some services for example.
Here are some confusing-but-safe-to-remove apk's:
- CrashSMS (DebugHelper (Service))
- FaceRecognition (the main thing that eats your speed - does not affect Face Detection in Mediascape or Gallery3D)
- LearningClient (Word-Learning for the default keyboards)
- neoreader (New Barcode app)
- OMAClientProvisioning, OmaDatasyncService (Part of the Sony Ericsson Synchronisation)
- PcCompanion (Disables the popup when you connect the USB)
- PicoTts, TtsService (Speech)
- qcsemcservice, SemcCheckin (send crash info)
- ReadyToRun (removes the SMS record)
- SnsContactImageCacheProvider, uWlopProvider (Part of Timescape)
- touchnote (New crappy Note app)
- UserDictionaryProvider (self explanatory)
I hope this helps.
deleted some now i get
force close android keyboard input method. latin has stopped unexpectedly
what shoul i do to fix this now?

It certainly does - thank-you. I would like to ask the following before i remove them (I have backed-up with TB)
1) can i remove all other "sonysync" elements/are there any apps that use the same icon (as you view them in Titanium Back-up) that i should not remove!!??
2) will removing this mean i cannot use any voice activated features?
3) SMS record?
4) Will this prevent any other keyboards learning words?
Thanks again.

did you do a full back-up? if so restore it as a simple fix.
have you re-booted since removing them - reboot helps
I find that once you have un-installed system apps you find an entry in menu/applications/manage applications. some remnants of the un-installed files (data and caches) click on them and select uninstall - reboot once finished. I don't know if this is causing your problem - or if it help, it's just my (limited) experience!!
Your other option is... if you can get this far - long press on any text entry field and select the "input method" option.. then select a different keyboard..
or you can reinstall the keyboard from here..

Thank you very much that was exactly what I meant! if you have time (and of course if you know) any other s#it that is safe to remove would be great!

In order to increase your resolution on the arc you need the phone to be rooted and get root explorer from the market (You can use ADP too)
Here are the steps:
1. Open root explorer and navigate to /system/
2. Mount the folder as r/w
3. Long press the build.prop file and select edit in text editor
4. Scroll all the way to the bottom and look for r0.sf.lcd_density=240
5. Change it to r0.sf.lcd_density=194 (I find 194 works the best, d4rkwind prefers 180 see post#28)
6. Save and Exit
7. Reboot your phone and you should now have a higher resolution.
8. To ensure that all apps span full screen install spareparts from the market and uncheck "Compatibility Mode"
The stock launcher app will not work too well with the new resolution, Try ADW launncher as thats what I use.
Reserved for future use.
Or u could just get lcd density chsnger on market lol does same thing

Dear Tasos you are wrong, with this magic trick your display turns into a retina display, the one that iphone4 use! And maybe capable of 3D.. lol
Does 194 work Facebook and Market? I tried 210 (my favorite) previously but Facebook and Market didn't fill the screen which made it look quite awful..
Thanks for this guide worked like a charm

im curious towards doing this as it looked good on my old HD2, however im curious to see how some of the stock apps, specifically the Music and Messaging app looks with this density..would you mind taking a screenshot of those perhaps?..
thanks.

I've tried! It's interesting! But it doesn't increase the resolution. It's actually something like zooming out.You can find this feature in windows also ,as a magnifier.
mhuaaaaa! ! i think fontchanger from miui in the market is very simple and if you want apli fully fonction in devtool check disable compatibilyt for full screen. and haaahaaa too funy

Was launched version 4.0: Waiting Reupload 4.0 with embedded patches
until now not needed to force the closing of the program.
See if you're still problems with this new version.
For me everything is working, only to have the limitation in VGA camera.
if LGCamera is freeware, can someone share me ?
i can't access the market
thz
Well i never got real problems with XGin ROMs... But now i´m starting to get some problems, well there are some problems, like HTC_IME keyboard doesn´t work, compared to Rachts ROMs it´s slower and laggy, with the 4.0 i lost the dualtouch... (back to 3.0...) But the rest is working well, the camera (VGA) and radio it´s working
i got one problem with xgin 4.0
the market app does not show up in the app drawer(it is installed, i checked the applications in the settings menu). I tried downloading the market app from the internet and installing it, but it does not allow me to overwrite the pre-installed one. So i got no android market access.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT:
Problem fixed. Apparently the market app was not detected. Fixed after 2 reboots. Cheers!!
Hey,
I have to post this in this section, because I haven't the rights to post it in the developer section. ;-)
I am pretty happy with this combination (kernel + rom), but have two big problems:
- Touchscreen captures very often 2 touches, when I simply write a sms. That means if I press a letter, any letter far away will also be chosen. I am pretty sure, that I have a synaptics one.
- Skype lets the mobile phone to reboot.
Before I have installed the kernel + rom, I have done the common stuff like full wipe...
Any suggestions?
Skype causes reboots for me too, but have you tried another skype app from market?
Try nAa 06b kernel...and skype? I download from market and no fc so far...try es task manager, clear cashe with him,and if in task manager choose startup option, disable skype from startup

My phone system is OMNI 4.4.2.
I noticed this too, but only with some of the icons.
Looks like it does that with every icon from apps that have been transferred to the SDcard.
I then tried to backup the home screen with "MyBackup Root", so I can restore it afterwards, but apparently, this feature doesn't like 4.4.x roms...
