I'm going to take a lot of pics today but i made a small comparison between the ARC and the SGSIII. The photo i have taken looks similar in both devices with a resolution about 1280x960 or so, with only subtle differences in color reproduction(cold colors in the SGSIII and hot colors with the ARC) .
However, when you zoom in at 100% and look at the crops of some details and text almost impossible to read at 1280x960 you find an enormous difference between both:
Also, you can see that reds are TOO RED in the ARC but the rest of the picture is very similar knowing that those differences in sharpness tend to disappear when you reduce both photos to a more normal resolution:

Easy to see there is more detail in the s3 for the long distance photos.
The up close photos of the strawberries are very similar between the two - they both look great

long distance shots - sgs3 takes it. arc's pics are blurry.
near objects shots - both looked good.

Today it was a bit cloudier than yesterday so don't expect blue sky and super bright sunlight in my pictures

are you using touch to focus on the photos?
Great looking flower photo. The colours are looking great with the camera.
May have some issues with the leaves on the trees that are farther though.

As a Z1 owner this makes me really happy. Both have the same camera, there's no reason why ours shouldn't be improved to be like the Z2's!

Not a fair comparison. I have owned the 5S and 1520. Use a Note 3. The 1520 would still take a better or as good as shot if it was allowed to focus properly and not have the focus light covered

Maybe after released to the market, there will be a better camera comparison. But I still love the z2 rather than 5s or the nokia or the s5

Something is very suspicious about this test. I don't know what they're doing, but I would not expect that dramatic of a difference with the Z2 camera in reality.

People need to understand how ISO, shutter speed and aperture work before making judgement. Unless you're just gonna use it for selfies in auto-mode... in which case, who gives a crap.

EXACTLY! What people don't understand is that the shutter speed and ISO can be manually adjusted on the Lumia to take some very impressive low light shots that would never even be visible on the almighty 5S.

Not a very good comparison, we'll see what happens in real life. But still... suggesting NFC trickery with the sticker on the box sounds a little bit far-fetched...

You guys are so crazy for thinking z2 smashed the other two. It was a cheated test for god sake. The z2 used flash while the others didn't

Really? you think NFC was used here and it wasn't showed on the screen that NFC was used, how stupid can you be?
and doesn't 1520 support NFC too? and We all clearly saw that the flash is off on all three devices.

Hypocrite, I clearly myself sometimes don't like the photo quality on Z1 cause it can do better than that and it's all with software issue and I compared 1520 with Xperia Z1 and It showed Xperia Z1 is better.

This test was done on fully auto not the manual mode, I know if it was taken on manual mode Xperia Z2 might not do well yet it will have some decent pictures, Remember that SA mode isn't bad all the time. It takes some great shots time to time.

well that test is kinda strange for sure but flash clearly wasnt used - you can even see the disabled flash symbol in that video

I've re-watched the video and I now understand how it did better but I will wait for comparisons by tech sites. For me all Sony cameras on xperias have been rubbish so I will wait. I don't expect it to beat One/2 or 1020 pureview in low light but we'll see.

Flash was turned off... you can clearly see that on the screen. However ridiculous the test might be - suggesting Sony rigged it with NFC or hidden/modified icon to conceal the use of flash is just as ridiculous...
This test it still useless though. Real photos are what matters and we will know more in the weeks to come.

Nokia Lumia 920 vs Z2 (LOW LIGHT)

I was curious to see how well the 920 did against the Z2 so I went out and purchased one to take some stills.

Just uploaded all photos to my PC. Will go through them so all can see them side by side for each situation. All photos are from.inside my house with different lighting and this is where I find cameras struggle. I have children so taking photos indoors happens often.

I tried but on my PC it asked for image url and would not let me just upload from pictures? Thanks for the advice though and if you know how I would prefer that way. Lots more photos.

Both phones set to auto and also auto focus. Z2 set to superior auto but test for yourself in darkness Z2 as seen here does strange things. Please note I am keeping my z2 as windows os is too limited for my use but this is purely an experiment I wanted to do as I knew the 920 is probably the best low light camera phone.

It's defo a strange one. Overall if I were someone buying a phone just for camera performance I would choose 920 due to wider angle lens and manual controls (not used here) BUT the z2 has better camera apps, faster shutter speed (just) and the ability to take 60 2mp photos in a blink of an eye (timeshift burst). Tis a pickle
I forgot to mention have you ever tried to send a video taken on the camera using your android phone? try it now
Windows will compress your video so you can send it Android will just refuse pretty crappy Google!
Camera aside windows is a limited os and not an option for android users.

(Camera Comparison) AM7 vs Sony Xperia Z2 - I own both

I really enjoy the Z2 camera experience but the slow shutter speed when using the on screen button started to bug me. I was intending on buying the Nexus 6 or Note 4 but they both left me feeling underwhelmed so I decided on the AM7.
In this thread I will be taking photos every opportunity I can and posting them here.
All photos will have the AM7 first and the Z2 second for continuity.
Auto mode or superior auto (Z2) will be used at all times and regardless of what anyone has to say about auto modes that's what most people use!
I will post from either phone when I can so every upload will be from the XDA app.
Please keep comments constructive
Any trolling or unacceptable comments will be reported to the moderator.

AM7 is the first photo and the Z2 is the second one on both photos.
The photos were taken at 2330hrs with only an overhead standard bulb.
I describe these conditions as dingy at best. No flash used and auto mode used for both photos.

Need more time. Only had the phone for a day.
From first impressions shutter speed is amazingly fast like iphone 6 fast or htc one. Low light pictures display some noise but the z2 does also. Framerate of camera app is similar to z2 so that's a good thing. More testing required but the handset is extremely high end and happy I went with this rather than nexus 6 or Note 4.
Screen and brightness is great and speaker is very loud indeed!

Let's keep this thread professional. Lots more photos taken today in bad light. I must say I am impressed. I was very worried about the camera from what reviews had said but it's a good sensor and looks like huawei did a good thing by not using too much processing etc.

People are complaining about Huawei's poor cameras but these photos are comparable to any phone. Not so bad.

Thanks! To be fair, he's super handsome and photogenic and makes every picture good. The slow motion (which my last phone did not have) has been my obsession as of late to capture flying video.
To my great embarrassment, I haven't even messed with the 4k recording. I do take a lot of bird video, but my excuse is I run a blog for my parrot and have some pretty steep limitations on video upload.

Took a couple macro shots, quite impressed with what I see (got the phone today)

The camera still has some issues with low light conditions; however, certainly a major improvement from any other Android device and on par with iPhone low light shots (though I would say Note 5 dominates during regular lighting conditions)
Also, for anyone wondering about the aggressive RAM profile, loaded up Hearthstone, Vainglory, Chrome, iFunny, and Pandora. No Apps killed. Seems to only affect some phones (or models?)

Yep especially considering its using the standard mode (I can only imagine the quality I can get if I take the time to set it up for macro in pro mode) and a regular desk lamp lighting.
