Hello I am just wondering if its posible to port the shift 4G ROM to the original EVO, I know they have some differences but I have seen weirder ports and so far its has worked out , I know I'm not the only one wanting this because I've read other members wantting the same and the treason we want this is because of the landscape mode of sense , its something stupid but its still intriguing, if anyone has a little time out of their busy schedules please answer,comment, in any way all I want to know is why hasn't anyone done this , is it because they're the same phone different versions (I think its because its too easy for the developers) ... I'm just saying everyone likes a challenge , in the meantime ill just keep trying to push the shifts apps into my evo thanks

yeah the to easy part is right. the shift has already been ported. the mikg ROM is a port of the shift with a few sense 3.0 elements thrown in like the lock screen. You should give it a try. I know you want the landscape Rosie and by default landscape is taken out of mikg but there is a addon mod to put it back

I'll recomend Syngery, sense 2.1/3 hybrid beast, prior to Syngery, I ran misfit's shift port which was solid, but I like the sense 3 stuff,

Thank you for the reply actually I smashed my EVO 4G against the wall and got myself a EVO 3d through the insurance, the point is I still would love that , but I have the new one right now I'm just concerned about ics powered to the 3d fully working

Fdb8231 made the landscape Rosie mod for synergy for Evo 4g. He's on Evo 3d now, so I'm sure the mod exists there, as well.

Just saw this too. Awesome. A lot of people, including myself, have posted that we hoped it would be an easy port. I dont think any of us thought it would be THIS quick of a port.
Now that cyanogen looks to be almost beta ready, some decisions to make.... gingerbread or cyanogen on 2.2.

i wonder if theyd be able to get 4g to work though, being that i think theyre only making gsm nexus s'.
i heard cyanogens team has 4g working now on the evo.
How hard will it be for the 2.3 aosp from the nexus s to be ported over to the epic? The obstacles I can see delaying the port are 4G, cdma, and the keyboard. Hopefully these factors won't effect the development for too long.

Lol I don't believe that is gingerbread. I highly doubt they would have got the radios working if they did port it over.. all that is, is the theme, startup & shutdown animation, and gingerbread launcher (can get in the market I believe) theme and start up can be found over in the theme & app section

yeah i seen his port but it use's the base 3.29 i wanted a more up to date base like 3.70 but i guess i won't get it lol. but i do love the new miui rom 1.3.5 with the honeycomb theme on it.
in my opion i just like the look of the epic os on a evo screen lol

There are a few good things about the epic interface.
I for one like the incoming call screen as well as the dial screen. Oh, 8 more posts before I can actually post something usefully on the development forums.
I just don't understand why the lesser model EVO got a better sense version guess that's how they are making us want the 3d even more

The only thing "lesser" about the Shift is the screen size. Aside from the name and Sense, they're two completely different phones and the Shift is the more powerful one.
The real question is, what does Sense 2.1 add that the Evo can't handle?

Guess I need to check out the shift I was offered the choice of a shift or ns4g to replace my EVO due to being returned 4 times for warranty they both just seemed built cheap light n plastic feeling ill look at it a little more doesn't seem to be much development for shift either

My wife has the shift, she won't let me root it for her but hers has sense 1.0. I've checked everywhere and have not found an update for the shift anywhere, did they get a ported rom that brought sense 2.1 with it or am I missing something somewhere.

My wife has the shift and I don't see what's so amzing about it compared to the EVO. Granted I'm rooted and she's not, but I played with it when she first got it and now only touch it when she screws something up. All I have to say is Mikg, its absolutely amazing.

I think it was leaked awhile back so it should be out soon.
I know, I know. But its for my girls phone and I dont have the time to be testing out roms because its her phone. So what is the best sense 3.0 rom out there for a woman. By women i mean, mms works, calls, text, video, pictures. Basically a daily rom that she wont know its "hacked". She just keeps complaining about her evo being a POS and blaming me for making her get one.

Sense 2.1 + 3.0 okay? Because I would definitely suggest MikG with ChopSuey kernel. Nothing has been able to upstage that beast for me yet, and I have tried mostly every single Sense ROM.
Everything works beautifully, and battery life is astounding (as with any ROM, as long as you have a good radio combination - mine is the latest). A day and a half on stock battery with good amount of usage. UNDERclocked (of course) at at 768 mHZ, it still flies just because of how optimized it is. And basically everything that comes with it is uninstallable, so she can pick and choose what she wants to keep
evo4gnoob I have read a lot of bad things about that rom. Any other suggestions?

I do like RunnyBliss Hybrid (Sense 3.5), but because it is constantly being updated and there are a couple issues to still be ironed out, I wouldn't recommend it for your girl unless you'd want to reset her phone once or twice a week.

No Sense 3.5 ROMs have 4G because they are ports from phones on other networks. We have Wimax, basically everyone else has LTE. Sprint has no 4G Sense 3.5 phones yet, so no 4G for a while.
A couple bugs with Hybrid, taken from OP:
~no 4G
~Adobe Flash - do not update in the Market. The one that comes with it is the only one that will work
~wallpaper/scene preview - You have to use grid mode. We have outdated drivers and a horrible GPU.
~usb works off and on (this was a problem earlier on, it is fixed for the most part)
~Video playback borked (sound but no video on 720p)
~Camcorder works on all but 720p and is distorted in portrait mode so you have to record in landscape

Anyone who caught DerpXL before discontinuation knows I like to keep things stock, how about stock Sense 3.0 straight to the bone? Just like an unboxing video for EVO Design 4G this is the same exact package of ROM. But, is it worth it? What do you guys think? Continue work, or pull the plug? Also provide insight that would be greatly appreciated

If you enjoy porting, then build it either way. Developing/cooking is a hobby for most, and a learning experience as well, so my suggestion would be to keep at it...

hmm sense 3.0 is my favorite of all the senses (lol sensi?) i think it has a clean (as clean as sense can get) look to it and i like the rosie it has over sense 3.5. i was IN LOVE with virus's kingdom rom and it had amazing battery life aka 20+ hrs which imo is really good for a sense rom
oh hell i even flash back to the ol kingdom rom just to remind me of how great it was lol
you should continue, i like stock better than themed

Looks great you should definitely post it after you work on it some more. By adding some tweaks like bravia engine and xloud, volume rocker wake ect but keep it visually stock as possible

Looks really really I am downloading now. I also have been trying to find a really good sense 3.0 Rom. However because I am constantly flashing others roms I don't really want to partition my SD card if I don't have too. So I am hoping I won't have to with this Rom?
Also I heard you mention this was a port of the kingdom Rom. Also heard you mentioned the evo 3d in the video as far as look and feel. What I was wondering is if it was possible to incorporate some have the strategies and techniques mikeyxda used to create meanrom for the EVO 3d. He made the hottest Rom for that phone right now and has accomplished major feats when it comes to performance and battery life.
