Some alarm sounds gone in 2.3.4 update - Xperia Arc General

Some of the previously included alarm tones are missing since the recent update.
Did anybody else notice this?
Is there a way to get them back?

Not just the alarms. Even some of the ringtones are missing.

I think on the next update the Hole phone will disappear! Lol

Maybe someone can upload a dump of the alarm sounds and ringtones before running the update?

here they are, but unfortunatly I dont have the new arc message, notification and reminder tones. I copied the old ones from my X10. But the rest is original.

See my sig for more tones.

So I'm confused as to what's different from this and my G1 with 1.6. I have synced my contacts and when I go to contacts from the home screen I see them all (with the little g next to them), but when I try to assign a ringtone to an individual contact as I did on my G1, it takes me to an empty contact list with no option to see my contacts. What's going on? Already getting tired of ToughWhiz getting in the way of my Android experience.
Niceee....of all the things I had trouble on it was this... I feel dumb lol

Doesn't work from google contacts. To assign ringtones to fiddler contacts I'm using Ringdriod. Anyone else has any solutions for google contacts?

Ringo Lite. It's a PITA to have to install a separate app but it works perfectly.
Awesome thanx

Notification tune

Not so much a problem rather a mild annoyance but when i receive a message the notification tune can take forever to stop. Ive even sent a reply before it even stops.
Im currently running adw launcher and handscent message app wit a full mp3 for the notification tune.
Ne ideas on why this is happening and how i can stop it. It can be a real nuisance sumtimes especially when at work and ma phone wont shut up

I think the problem is you have a full song as your ringtone... ;-)

I have had full mp3 ringtones on all the capable phones ive had and they all stopped when i started reading the message

Just trim it like you should...

But have you had an Android phone? Plus, you're using a third party app to handle SMS... that's probably why. The phone will shut up (almost every time) if you press the volume buttons/camera button during a notification.

deleting drmua and sisdrm

cause losing ability to preview of ringtones
and only vibrate works when receiving calls and other notifications

Yeah that's a known issue. We stopped deleting those files a while back.

It causes other problems as well. Hoping you took it out with something you can replace it with.

yeah i did a cwm backup so i just simply flashed to it
There used to be a trick to get it working for a day,but it would never stick...

Deleting one of those also causes the music player to only play one song them freeze up.
I used root explorer to remove those and no ill effects

Phone Notifications

I need some more notification tones for my phone the ones that come stock are to few. Can somebody point me in the right directions to get some awesome notification tones so I can pimp out my phone thank you
You can download soundboards of your choice from the market and use them. I had Charlie Sheen saying "winning" for a while.

Make a few folders on the root of your SD card named ringtones, notifications, and alarms. Put the corresponding sound effect in each, and voila.

Install Zedge. It has thousands of notification sounds you can hear before you download.

How to use custom SMS sounds?

With stock app that is, how can I put my own custom sound instead of Google's selection?
If it can't be done then what SMS app do I need?

Put the music file you'd like to use in your notifications folder.
It should show up when you look through the collection of notification sounds.
Or have a folder called "audio" then inside desperate folders of "Ringtones" and "Notifications" folder. I'm use to doing this from other phones.

Desperate and Seperate, you know. they rhyme.
In your internal storage, put them in /media/audio/notifications/
Then they will appear in the list with the stock sounds
Sent from my EndeavorU using xda app-developers app
/media/audio/xxx is the pre-ICS way of doing it.
Now you have the Notifications, Ringtones, Alarms folders on the root of your MTP storage.
Some apps still create the old folder structure if it's missing, though (I'm looking at you, Facebook *shakes fist*)
Haha I had no idea it had changed, always done it that way since 1.5 on the HTC hero

I use the instructions above for random odds-and-ends sounds I want to use, but Zedge for searching and finding a bunch of others. I have the "Tory and Abed in the Morning" jingle for my text sound.
If your to lazy for that, download Ringdroid from the market and it will do it for you.
