I'm sure someone will post it. Hope a new radio is included. I just want it for parts
I think it might include a new radio because one of the things the link mentions is improved "Data connection while roaming domestically"
Only for G2 or DZ will get this too?
Hope they fix the sense crash :/
I can't wait, I hope there is a new radio too. I'm lookin for glite, g2 bliss and xboarders stock roms to get updated to this new base.
Good on htc to not forget about us!

What the hell is a "4ext"?
4ext is a new recovery based off of CWM. It has lots of extra features such as theming, displaying partition information, renaming backups, etc.
There should be a thread in the dev section.
As to whether is possible or not that the tmo ota will be a 4ext rom, I'm not sure what that question means. Maybe he meant A3xt rom?

New radio will be nice, but that's about all I want from this update.
Where's the OTA for ICS 4.0???
I will be properly annoyed if the nexus phones get it and G2 owners are left behind...
Our device is very nearly superior to the old Nexus phones. No reason why we should be held back.
There are precisely three things I'm interested in:
a) The radio itself (if the hint re "data roaming" is correct, we may have a decent semi-universal radio )
b) If there's been any substantial changes in the HTC GPS drivers (gps.vision.so).
c) If HTC has done what it's promised to do and unlocked the bootloader/how easy this thing will be to temp-root to downgrade. (Not something I personally have to worry about, more thinking of those who have non-rooted G2s who decide they wanna try CM7 or a Sense ROM or something. )
So I woke up this morning and the update is waiting, but since aLogCat wasn't running I can't be of much use. I assume if I install it I'll lose root. Has anyone installed this yet?

Assuming that you have CWR installed, I think it will attempt to install it, but once it goes into recovery, it will give you a message about signature verification failed or something around those lines. I attempted updating to the 2.15 OTA when I was running the Froyo OTA (rooted of course) and it gave me that.
You can grab the download from your cache directory and post it up so that someone can root it and repackage it to a zip file.
Unfortunately since I tried to apply it, it's gone. The post above was right about the signature error.
Baseband
I wanted to chime in and confirm that the baseband version has gone up in this update. My G2 reports: 12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M
I was running stock 2.3.4 and wasn't rooted so I don't think I could have been of much help in extracting the file. Hopefully someone with more experience will get the update soon. This is the fastest I've received an update after announcement.
My device stability hasn't changed in the few hours I've had it running since the update, and I haven't noticed any changes in UI or features.

I didn't flash the rom, but I looked around a little bit- there seems to be all new frameworks, everything else is patched. I didn't see an hboot, so no new bootloader. Also, no updated gps.vision.so file, but it looks like libganril.so and libkineto.so get patches, as well as libhtc_ril.so and librilswitch.so

Nah man you are thinking of 4EXT recovery. 4EXT is a partition you can create for darktremors a2sd so that you can save storage space internally. Same as the 2ext and 3ext partitions

Using's Dr.Death FOTA fetcher (found here), I've compiled a list of all the shipped roms and their respective OTA updates as of 21/02/2011
I've writen an script that checks all known RUU and OTA version, if it finds an OTA not known, it will be marked as FOUND NEW VERSION ###
WARNINGS: DO NOT FLASH THOSE OVER A ROOTED ROM OR YOU'LL LOSE IT!
All Froyo (3.x) updates includes an new HBOOT 1.01 and can't be S-OFF
All versions above 1.x can't be rooted, if you update, you'll have to downgrade the phone
OTA updates are patches only and can be used exclusively for the rom version it was built for.

No idea, it's the letter after the rom version, I thought I'll leave it, could it be R for Radio? I'll go check the content of those OTA and see if there's any similarity and/or difference.
For download, no problem, I can have them uploaded to my server.
I'll look into finding their change logs but that's lot of manual labor lol

I'd suggest you not update to 2.05 because of the SMS sorting bug unless you use a 3rd party messaging app, when you open a conversation, it starts at the top, oldest first.
If you do still want 2.05, you can grab the HTC asia WWE 1.31.707.2, which then gives you OTA update 1.31.707.3 and then 2.05.707.1
Or one of the Vodafone 1.31.x or 1.32.x
But the best right now is 2.03, I'd just grab 2.03 stock rooted or flash the RUU, in which case you'll loose root and have a harder time to get it back if you choose too
2.03 stock, rooted

Hello everyone,
I'm new here. Haven't done to my Legend anything yet but am considering and I'll read more threads about it on this very good forum. Would like to have Froyo and wifi tethering because of my android tablet.
However, I just thought to mention (maybe this is not the place; if so, I'm sorry) that I run 2.05.720.1 which is not on the list. If you want it and if I can, I wouldn't mind grabbing it and posting it here/sending it to Kwen or whoever will update the list. I haven't noticed any bugs or problems with this build apart from the obvious that it's not Froyo. That's the only reason why I haven't gone cyanogen yet.
Cheers,
Steve

I think this would be a very useful file, because I know a lot of people are hesistant to update to 2.3.3 because of the removal of Facebook sync, but are still having issues with reception, reboots, etc. If the fixes are present in the baseband, it'd be great to be able to easily and safely update only the baseband, while staying on 2.3.2/CM7/custom ROM.
I'm not exactly sure of the feasibility on the Nexus S, but I know it was done before on the Droid when I owned that device.
According to Netarchy, the baseband update in the OTA is "patch-based", so it's not the full radio image, but rather changes to the existing one. So the full updated image would have to be created by applying these patches to the existing baseband. I'm not sure if that's possible to do off of the device, or if it needs to be extracted off a 2.3.3 device.
Anyways, I'm just putting in this request/suggestion. Please let me know what you guys think. Maybe if there's enough demand for it, a dev would undertake this
I like this idea.

It's risky, because it's not tested yet. I think it would work, but I have little experience with Android development.
The ROM is (I think) divided into several sections, like recovery, system, boot, and radio, so flashing just the radio should not mess up anything else.
I didn't end up trying that update file posted above, as I found another method to get the 2.3.3 baseband. I've written up a little guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971239
It does require fastboot, but will surely work.
Hi Everyone,
I took the OTA update today after RUUing to a stock 2.76.651.6 install (that's the 10/25/2011 update). I have learned the following information:
*This brings us to android 2.3.4.
*This contains new radio firmware that I'm sure someone will extract and put up for experimentation or whatever it is you kids do with radio firmware.
*There are also several firmware images for what looks like other chipsets, no doubt tied to the nebulous claim of battery life improvements
*The update contains a new HBOOT.
Edit: What I have written here before is no longer accurate - using fre3vo does not work on the 2.77 update. VICODAN has posted some great writeup material for how to deal with it. The good news is that if you take this update, you probably won't be unhappy, since it's about as snappy as sense can be, and you CAN flash a more flexible kernel than stock. The software also does a hell of a lot better at keeping Rosie in memory, which means fewer white HTC screens than before, and since the background processes are less crapped up with CIQ, re-launching it goes a lot faster now.

Obviously, taking this update makes you lose root, but I can confirm personally that 1) The bootloader unlock procedure at htcdev is now supported on our phones - fastboot get_oem_identifier (or whatever that command is) pulls a token now and the process completes successfully; and 2) 2.77.651.3 is rootable using the existing 2.3 methods and I just flashed back to 2.76.651.6 without any trouble whatsoever by re-flashing misc.img.
By rooting, misc-ing, and downgrading, HBOOT is returned to 0.98.0001.
I haven't yet played around with the 2.77.651.3 to know whether or not any of the performance issues with sense have been resolved, but that's why I wanted to make a new thread for this. Also if anyone's having trouble with it, they can talk it out here.

Thanks... I don't wanna use the htc tool, but at least we can get full s-off after the tool unlocks... Still sucks that we might have to follow the rules now... Thanks again for the quick write up and experimentation.

I did notice the shift booted up FAST when I held vol down + power. I dunno if that's just fast boot or what but I guess it is more than just twitter.
It'd be great if we could get an RUU to extract this update from. Maybe Football will dig one up again.
I feel like this is as fast as the phone always should have been! Now that CIQ isn't crapping up the background process list, it's like "zooooooooooooooooom!"
I reported over 1400 with Quadrant again; first time on a sense rom/stock kernel since 2.2 that I've been able to do that. (actually, I just got a 1535)

Here's a common sense notice ... Always assume that there is a user out there, too ignorant to read, that will download and attempt to flash this... Or, that will attempt to push or install the patched apk/odex files (which may or may not work, but I'm guessing won't because they look like patches to me)... The only issue with that is you still have s-on and not a full eng bootloader. I don't think it will let you flash the recovery but not sure. I know there's some things you can't flash with the unlocked s-on bootloader.

I'm not 100% but I believe you can still flash recovery (look at the E3D). I don't believe you'll be able to flash anything through bootloader.. e.g. radios, bootanimation etc.. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how I remember reading it. Also looking at the 3D threads, apparently you have to fastboot boot recovery to be able to access recovery...? Looks like you can still flash most everything, just seems like more of a hassle than having s-off.
Not to mention your warranty is officially void..
You can flash recovery and evidently if you use fastboot to boot into a recovery image, you can flash boot. But more importantly, if you really want to, you can go back to the eng hboot and have s-off again.
Officially voiding your warranty is not really a problem - first, i got my phone Jan 23 of last year, so my warranty is officially void anyway; second, HTC's software support is completely worthless if you've never tried to interact with them before; and third, I got the phone with best buy's protection plan, so there's really no reason for me to talk to HTC in the first place. Indeed, when I had a hardware warranty pop up last month (part of my digitizer went dead during air travel), the replacement process took my broken rev 0004 phone and gave me a brand new 0005 phone. I had root and whatever and nobody cared.
Also, unless I don't remember correctly, doesn't flashing unofficial software officially void your warranty anyway? Isn't there a standard disclaimer that used to show up on every single rom OP?
Working: OTA updates on a rooted device with an unlocked bootloader
Ok, finally i've managed to do an OTA update on a rooted device with unlocked bootloader, using the following steps:
Step 1: flash back the stock recovery (can be found in the OTA update rar file, in the firmware package).
Step 2: install back the missing APK files, lost during unlocking the bootloader (can be found here: http://sharesend.com/ulxcsxa9)
Step 3: Perform the OTA update normally
Step 4: Flash back the custom recovery using fastboot
Step 5: Go to the custom recovery en press reboot system, in my case CWM asked me to Fix the root and i did.
Notice that there will be no loss of any data, everything should be working fine after following these steps. Just flash back the custom recovery and regain root acces (if CWM won't ask to do it for you) by using rooting tools or rootkeeper.
I think you mean recovery instead of bootloader in steps 1, 4, and 5.

This is nothing new but it's a good guide anyway and if you made OTA updates work with a custom recovery etc then that would be excellent news.
Hey it seems like the files in the OP don't exist or sharesend hates me, if someone could reupload them that would be awesome.

Any link for the Stock kernel and recovery?
Thanks
You mean this works with custom ROM, or should I flash back stock rom ? (I only find OTA for 2.24.401.1)
Edit : I've lost my nandroid backup of stock rom trying unsuccessfully to change firmware...
Just wondering if #3 is absolutely required? Cuz I think most custom ROM has at least some of these APK cooked-in.

Checked on ARDH. Some of them are missing...
Okay now my main question is, Since taking the OTA is possible on a stock custom Rom, if I have the 1.27.531.11 firmware update (tmobile) and I wanted to flash the 1.27.531.7 Rom, and take the .8 OTA, would it restore the .8 1.44 hboot that wasn't modified and allow me to S-Off? I got as far as trying to take the OTA but it didn't work because I forgot to flash the missing apk's.

OTA's only work if you are completely stock, if you change some system file the update will fail, so on custom roms official otas will never work

Yes, I know that, that's why I'm searching for a stock 2.24.401.1 rom to install on my device. I found a deodexed one (very slow download - about half an hour for 3%) but don't know if it fits ?
can I install an OTA ROM (I downloaded one but I'm afraid to make a mistake)
I searched a lot and I am asking in several threads, and still no answer...

I think you want something else than otas but you thinks otas are the solution to your problem, so you are focussing on getting otas to work but what do you really want fixed?
Anyway deodexed roms don't get otas either only stock odexed roms

Thank you for the second part of your answer. for the first part, I have a good running device with ARDH 13.3 and no problem,
I want OTA updates only for firmware update as I don't have s-off. so with ARDH it is impossible. I need a stock ROM that matches my device ( 2.24.401.1 and CID HTC_102) where can I get that?

If you want otas, ask Mike why he choses not to do them, else just put up with checking the thread and downloading+installing a new version every couple of weeks. If you want OTAs on ARHD Mike needs to let them happen, no amount of tinkering on your part, even with s-off, will achieve this

Uh, I think the poster is referring to official OTAs with firmware updates, not OTA updates to ARHD

Exactly , where do I upload it...like which website do the guys here prefer???
And it'll be worth putting up , actually only if someone needs it.... why waste bandwidth and web space up there????
That's the intention for asking before I post it up there....

better to make a nandroid backup of full stock Rom with that update as it will help more then just OTA.
Barely managed

I barely managed to get this update, cos.... being a noob with this phone made me really go through hell, especially because of a lack of HTC_622 users out there.... especially english speaking ones....
I somehow managed to unlock the bootloader, but couldn't get the S-Off thing to happen.....
Then I flashed it with god knows what and the TWRP think and another recovery image....
then went on with RevolutionHD 10.2 fooled around with it for a few days but found it to lag quiet a bit....
Got rid of it by flashing something else on to the phone, lol, then finally relocking the boot loader and the update came straight in....
Before locking the boot loader, the update had already got downloaded onto the phone but erverytime I'd install it, the reboot would take the system into the recovery bootloader that twrp thing and then go back to the same.
The twrp would not flash the OTA with signature verification or without.
.....
Anyways, I'm uploading the file (files, split into 2 parts using total commander with the crc included to dev-host , broken into 2 parts cos the max size allowed is 512MB for non premium users)
Will post the links here in sometime.
