was reading on android central up on a 1.6 build which has the nexus one style which looks really nice.

still some bugs and problems, and alot of people are over there trying to get it fully functional and put together a rom, any chance of this being picked up here?

you can download it on page 7 but you will also need google bits which i am right now trying to install. but having trouble
That dev is also a member of this site, so technically it is picked up here. Just don't think ther's a thread.
yeah their are a few downloads and .apks for the htc keyboard, just seeing some problems with sms, bluetooth and data occasionally.
I know I am no dev, but would love to just see a rom with the nexus one style.
and yeah he says he comes here, but I havent seen much about it on xda, so wanted to help its progress by atleast shedding some light on it.
oo nice thanks for that

Yup. I mostly lurk here. A bit too much drama . I even forgot my original login and pass lol.
I've had to halt development on this one (mostly) as I simply don't have time. Crisis at work, and real life sucks. It's no fun spending 16 hours a day with a bluetooth in each ear glued in front of a PC. I only have time to focus on one project in my free time. I still monitor the thread at Android Central, so I help where i can.
Just wanted to add credit goes to quietcblongs for the fixes to even get this partially running. Any monkey can grab the source from git and type make in the terminal. Without his work this would just be a toy for me to play with on my Ion, and even then not everything works.
i would love to see this take off, to bad bt doesnt work because I use it everyday. i just want a 1.6 or higher on my hero with a nexus one look, (as does everyone else probably lol)
I would like to see a melding of this with the 1.6w/live wallpapers
Where is there a 1.6 with live wallpapers? I've only seen the 2.0.1...
i tried live wallpapers on this build, no go, got the phone to recognize them, was even able to install from market, just force closes on the picker, i like the launcher on this and the camera that works, but it ill not be my daily rom, going back to 2.0.1

forgot that LW was from the nexus 2.1 would have been cool though
That thing looks sliiiiick as hell..is it stable?..does the camera,phone,texting/pic mail work?...
Just played around with this ROM and it was brilliant. I couldn't get the Touch Input to work at all though, and Lockbot didn't work and forceclose. For those two reasons I had to revert back to Fresh.
But this sneak peak at something better than 1.5 was a real breath of fresh air. Thanks to all the devs.
This looks good. Going to Nandroid and flash this when I get home.
Any reports on this ROM's stability? Could this be used day to day?

if you dont use bt or headphones then yes
I must say that I am very impressed at this point. Only issue I'm having is difficulty pulling up the Market. Doesn't seem to want to load the EULA or whatever it makes you accept after every wipe while on EVDO. I switched to WIFI and it let me right in. No problem accessing protected apps either... I just installed Evernote.
Nice to have something fresh to play with for my Hero.
I would flash this rom, but I do use headphones to listen to music. I also heard that there are some MMS issues, confirm/deny?
First off, I want to say that this ROM rocks and the sheer speed alone has made me not even care about sense. I was a little hesitant on flashing this thinking I would miss sense but as stated earlier, the speed of the rom more than makes up for it.
I have been rather fortunate with my experiences using this rom. My text messages work as well as my headphones. I was suprised that my headphone jack works as I have read for the most part that headphones arent working with this rom. Looks like I have gotten lucky.
I have decided to use this as my daily driver and the only issues that I've experienced at this point is just lack of bluetooth and speaker phone which have already been mentioned and aren't deal breakers for me. Big thanks to the devs and keep up the awesome work!

headphones working here too.... just no speaker and bt. Who cares when you have Global search, google nav, powercontrol...
Now that we know that 4.5.91 is the "official" gingerbread build for the Atrix, I thought it might be helpful to have a thread where we can list things that we feel could be tweaked/improved on the ROM.
I'm not sure if anyone will find this thread helpful, but it it does go anywhere, I'd like to point out on this OP that the idea of this thread is NOT to report bugs in the stock, or any particular custom ROM, nor would I like to see it become a place to post generalized complaints such as "My battery life isn't as good as it should be."
What I am hoping to accomplish here is to list specific things that could be better, or where functionality could be added, in the hopes that some of the Devs around here, if they agree of course, will decide to pick up some of the ideas and make them happen. They could do it in future releases of their own ROMs, or as individual flashable ZIPs, or even just instructions on how to make a tweak. The choice is theirs, and I'd like to thank them in advance!
Now that Official GB is out, I'd like threads like this in the correct section.
I know it's somewhat poor form to reply to one's on thread, but here's another post to start off a list with two small items.
1.
I think it would be great if the dialer AND address book would rotate to landscape orientation. I use the stock Google Car Home app with my phone mounted sideways in the car, and if you click on contacts, or dial someone, the address book, contact pages, and dialer all remain portrait.
I'm not sure how it behaves if you actually have the motorola car dock (I'm just using the universal one), but I have tested launching the motorola car dock application, and when I launch the above, it's a little bit better, but still not right. If you launch contacts from the motorola car dock app, the contacts list does display in landscape mode, but when you dial someone, the dialer is still portrait. Again, that may be different if the phone is actually docked. I am not sure.
2.
I think the consensus out there seems to be that everyone thinks the CRT shut screen lock animation is cool. But I think I also speak for a lot of other people when I say that I don't use it because in order to have it, you have to turn on "all animations". It seems that "all" or "none" are the only options, and I find that the rest of the animations give the phone an unnecessarily clunky feel.
I'd like to see the ability to have the animations off, but still have the CRT animation. Doesn't really matter how this one is implemented. This is covered somewhat in an old thread (for the HK leaked ROM), but I am including it here again just to add it to the list and for testing on the AT&T ROM.
Thanks!

No problems here. I guess I just thought that it would work here since it was sort of a request thread for developers and development.
If it belongs somewhere else and a Mod wishes to move it, I have no objections. Please accept my apologies.
This should be moved to General. Also I would probably take the word "gripe" out of the title. It has a negative connotation to it, and the tone of the OP wasn't what I was expecting after reading the subject.

Again, sorry for the clutter in the Dev forum if that's what this is, and thanks for the pointers.

Quick Boot from the Market..?
Dual core compatible rom, gentoo honeycomb themed webtop, hdmi mirroring, with or without dock, aosp, with cm7 adaptability and changability, music player volume change tracks control, flash that works properly, and a great OC'd havs bfs kernel, for the cherry on the top.
Plus what the other guy said ;-)
Hope I'm not being too demanding

Well, that is one taken care of. Both the froyo it came with and GB are dual core compatible roms. Feel a little better?
-wake on volume keys
-less flaky bluetooth (sometimes AVRCP seems to stop working, sometimes audio just stops working and have to turn BT off/on)
-notifications via BT, right now for some reason BT audio cuts out and notification is played on speaker
-native SIP

Well technically froyo was "dual core optimized" not really dual core compatible that's why our quadrant scores were so crappy. I can say though with 2.3.4 I am getting a consistent 700 more than I was on 2.2.2 (used to get roughly 2600 am not getting about 3100)

Hey guys just wondering if anyone is working on activating the Bluetooth on the nook?
For example. Connecting it to some headsets for music.
No excepting much but please comment

Sorry buddy, definately no Bluetooth built in. The chip was at first mistaken as the same from the color but actually it's a chip derrived from the same as the Nook but it's had FM and Bluetooth removed to save money :/ Bummer.
The only way would be to develop a USB host mode like the Samsun galaxy and with that you have to be careful not to fry chips. mmm... chippies
thanks for the quick reply

Hint: USB Host mode
The NST is in fact able to do this, it even loads the USB in OTG mode, but our kernel doesn't have all the bells and whistles required for it to work.
There are patches for 2.6.29 afaik (CM), so you go recruit some kernel hackers and you'll have BT adapter support in no time
I've been reading something about this here:

It could be ported tonight if we had the right people around
Sadly, but understandably, the NST community is not as big as the phone community, and thus we lack the serious kernel hackers.

Since @rebel1699 gave AT&T users a way to expirence 4.4.2 and still maintain some control, I've loaded a few 4.4.2 ROMs. With just a cusary glance I don't see or feel much difference. I was hoping folks sharper than I would discuss this so I (and hopefully others might learn a thing or two). I do know they added a dir system/priv-app to store some apks, but don't know why? Maybe this could be answered first and get the ball rolling. Discuss.
U have to look in the perspective of what google thought at that time. Google implemented system/priv-app and this had to be continued by CM and other AOSP roms or else Google has all the rights to sue them. Only apks in /system/priv-app can use "system"-level permissions.(Thats what i think and i know. I might be wrong?)And as Touchwiz is just a skin ontop of Android, Samsung and other OEMs had to go with this.

Interesting observation. :good: Excellent start. One could expand on this issue as It relates to (Better, Worse or No Change). Maybe it could be disussed how this changes modding, etc...
Responses need not be technical in nature--although they are appreciated--opinions as to how you find the experience of using 4.3 vs 4.4 are greatly appreciated and informative.

Does anyone know if you can still select the camera to save pics to external storage on KitKat? I don't have a card at the moment to test it out and would like to know before I give this phone to my wife.
Oh and BTW, my phone just updated to NB1 from MK2 by itself, I did not select anything to ok the install, just heard a noise on the phone and looked and it was installing.

It's horrible for the user. Look at this link.
http://www.ibtimes.com/android-44-k...plained-root-access-fix-now-available-1562147
The way I was able to get the functionality back was by rooting (which is somewhat a pain on NB1) and using this method here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607215
I had to use method 2 since safestrap has issues flashing stuff to NB1.
Apparently this app also fixes it, but I haven't tried. But it still requires root.

A vote kinda says it in a nutshell!
So far, basically we have these diffetences:
1. White status bar icons.
2. Camera shortcut on lockscreen
3. Restricted access to microSDCard in 4.4.2 (and we learned how to regain access)

I am interested to learn this as well. For a casual user, it looks very similar.
OK guys, let's get specific! If 4.4 is better than 4.3--why? If it's not--why? Come on, share! I really think we need to stop taking so-called uprades for granted! I've seen guys/gals almost in tears over losing their custom recovery (MK2) or access to their microSDCard (that btw, cost people their hard earned money). Remember what the commercial sez "knowledge is power!" I believe that is part of what xda was founded on--discovering and sharing knowledge. I know good people from around the globe have increased my knowledge and enriched my phoning experience (if "phoning"is a real word) Instead of just taking all the time, I'm trying to find away to help out however small. I have had the pleasure of communicating with all types of phone enthusiast and am better for it! Give a little--take a little--Discuss!

Though there are a few people with poor communication skills-shall we say-the vast majority of the folks around here will help you learn and get the most out of that expensive rectangle you bought. Actually, one of the reasons I was interested in the update is because I can't get Hyperdrive to work properly. I don't want to derail this thread, but I posted in another thread with someone who was having similar issues with Hyperdrive. If you get a chance, and have a second, please check out this thread. I really love Hyperdrive, but if I can't get it to work, I am thinking about just unrooting and upgrading to kitkat (but I would rather use Hyperdrive). Thanks.

A question for the ages! All I can say is "brood over it brother, brood over it..."
My AT&T S4 says camera pic to SD card and I am on NB1 4.4.2 It says it to Storage/extSdCard/ DCIM/ Camera Pictures camera takes are in there on my SD card. Have you gone into Camera settings and at bottom of list STORAGE is set to Memory Card, Not Device. Just keep hitting the Setting icon on each screen until you get to screen with Lacation Tag Review etc.
Hello everyone.
I recently purchased the Divoom Aurabox.
It's actually a Bluetooth Clock/Speaker with a LED panel.
The functionalities and LED Panel are controlled by an APP on the smartphone.
I feel like it's a really poor APP, with not so many options (taking aside the fact that it's poorly designed)
Thought of redisinging it, give new functionalities and making it easier to use.
Has anyone modded/hacked the app or the Aurabox? If not, Is it possible?
Thank you!
UP!
I think it has awesome capabilities.
Just tell me if it is possible or not, and i will start trying myself !
Hi Guys. Any luck on that. I would love to send custom notification to my Aurabox.

Yeah... They were even advertising the Aurabox as if it had features it didn't
When I contacted them, they changed descriptions/images.
And, well, the APP... Is one of the worse chinese-ports I have ever seen.
Just a brightness slider control would make me happy, since the "shake mobile, change into 2 brightness" is not enough. Try to use this with the lowest brightness on a dark bedroom. Impossible to sleep.
I've bought the new Timebox. The device is neat but the software is a peace of crap lol !
What will be nice is that the device itself get an open firmware...
I just got one of these for cheap. I was really hoping there was some way to get custom notifications on it. Does anyone know if there's an app for it?

I've written a small program using RFO BASIC. I've also created a demo video. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post external links here (as a new user). But if you want you can search for bigboss97 (user name) and TimeBox on YouTube. You will find some hacks videos there. Good luck!
I recently read that the TimeBox can record Audio/Morph. Can the TimeBox Mini or its APP store audio clips? As in, can the TimeBox be Bluetooth-ed to a vehicle (hidden inside the vehicle) and monitor the calls, notifications, sounds ect.
