I guess SuperOneClick will do the job to root Defy+
but not sure about Overclock, as didn't got Overclock module work on MB526 OR Defy+
I think you can't root Gingerbread ROM with superoneclick. Try using Z4root first from Market.

Čus, můžeš mi, prosím, napsat jak se t podařil root defy+ ?
Ať dělám co dělám nejde mi to.
Pořád to píše: failed to start daemon, cannot connect to daemon, daemon not running, ADB server didn´t ACK a další věci.
Prosím, co dělám špatně?
Děkuji za případnou radu

hi all,
unfortunately couldn't root Defy+ with Android 2.3.7 (4.5.3-109_DFP-11)
DooMLoRD works
Hi guys, I tried everything above with my Defy+, but nothing worked. This script by DooMLoRD finally did! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312859
I tried everything under the sun and the only thing that worked for me was superoneclick root

in my opinion the best way for new Moto devices is: http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/08/25/well-that-was-fast-one-click-droid-3-root-now-available/
Tested on my Defy+
None of these work for 2.3.6
User SuperOneClick ,you can download in MFunz, if you have any problem, contact me ,QQ: 225907377
z4root did not work for me, superoneclick worked nicely.
Don't works on my 2.3.6
Build version : 4.5.1-134_DFP-231
I tried : superonclick, z4root, unlockroot, gingerbreak and the different .bat solutions ...

Do you have samdroid tools installed? If not, make a kitchen ROM on samdroid. n e t and install that from recover (boot using Volume Down + Call + End Call -> Apply any zip, select te zip from your SD card)
After that, go to samdroid tools and "Enable your Sdcard for Apps2SD", you can tweak the settings there too
I have rooted using tools from Leshak and built my ROM Using Samdroid site and app2sd is working and a lot of other features. But u will have to root ur phone to get all this.

Super one click root...
http://Techass.wordpress.com
thx man, forgot about that lol..^^
Ya superoneclick!
But I found a confusing tutorials.
What I did was.
-kies, for it installs driver for your phone.
-unzip superoneclick.zip in a folder
-launch the .exe, don't touch other files.
-click root.
-when 'waiting for device' msg appears, attach your phone in usb debug.
-wait, let it do it's job.
-done
Ya it was really that simple for me.

hey,
i flashed kyrillos rom..everything worked fine till step 8..
when i reboot my phone the green bootanimation from the rom shows up..but it freezes as soon as it finishes booting so i cant choose a launcher
what did i do wrong
I have just started my brand new x8, so nothing is changed with it, I try and download an app from the internet and when I go to install it I get 'There is a problem parsing the package', I have tried many different app installers, but still no luck.
Thanks very much for all replies
some apps need to run on a newer version of amdroid, for example app2sd (wich transfers your installed apps to your micro sd card) requires android 2.2 or higher to run, but the stock Sony Ericsson firmware is android 2.1 so until you install a new ROM e.g. Froyobread (Android 2.2) or GingerDX (Android 2.3) you wont be able to run certain apps

I have a functional android SDK and eclipse installed with 4.0.3 (the version the phone runs) and 4.4 sdks installed. I just want to root and back the phone up so I Can reflash if it all goes wahoonie shaped.
