i know there is a message about this earlier on, i've read it , but still i couldn't find the answer, ever since i've installed a rooted stock gingerbread on my htc desire z, everything seems to be working fine, however, i cannot find google apps, attempting to download it from the web site failed because it says it's not compatible with my phone.
By "google apps" do you mean Gmail, Market, Google Talk, etc? You may need to install the google apps separately like you have to do if you are using the Cyanogenmod ROM.
sorry, sorry, i meant google MAPS, just maps , and finally i used titanium backup, to-relink to the market, from the own , it was smooth sailing...

I had a few issues with my phone, flashing and flashing data.img back and then using Titanium Backup seems to have left a few irregularities, including Google Maps is on version 3.4 but wont update to 4.0 from the Market.
When I go market and look at Google Maps, the button is just to open.
How can I fix this please?
No-one knows? No-one even knows of a download for 4.0 Google Maps apk?
First make sure your google maps isnt actually version 4.0
Second go to Settings --> applications. Uninstall google maps. Go to market and install 4.0. Easy!
you can't uninstall maps on a nexus if you're not rooted
I don't think it's listed in Apps in settings, which is probably to do with my problem. In the Market it shows as installed though... so I can't tap to install it again
Btw, I am rooted.

My Nexus gives me the option to uninstall updates, and by doing so will make sure the fella is on v3.4.
I wasnt exactly right but my solution was valid. I dunno why its not shopping up in your list though. Very strange
I have a MT15i (Neo), bought in China last month (build 3.0.A.2.181).
Unfortunately no Google applications were installed on the phone. No Market, no Search, no YouTube, no nothing from Google.
Since then I have downloaded several apk files for Google Search, Voice, Maps, Translate and Voice Search but I just can't get the Market, Gmail, CarHome and Talk Apps to work.
If I look into Setting-->Applications-->Manage applications-->All, then I nowhere can find "Google Services Framework" in the list. Am I right that I have to have that installed?
I've successfully rooted the phone a few days ago with Gingerbreak v1.1 (thanks Chainfire!). I downloaded "gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip" from Cyogen's Wiki page, then tried to install the package with Rom Manager but that didn't work. I think it may be because the phone won't allow to boot into recovery.
Does anyone know how to install all the Google Apps on a rooted Neo/Arc?
Thanks

One best way is to flash your phone with one of available firmware here. You can always go to android only section of the forum and download stock files.
Hi there.
I've just flashed CM 7.03, and realised that no Google apps are available.
When I first start, even though Ive wiped data, it doesn't ask for my Google acount credentials, and then, can't get Gmail, Maps, Gtalk neither Market to work.
I can't install them neither restore them from Titanium.
I've also tried copying the Vending.apk app to System/app but when I reboot, it dessapears.
Any idea about whats going on?
Thank you!
Look here for Google apps: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps
Thank you very much.
Worked like a charm!
I have a rooted stock room with TWRP. Using GoLauncher. Have complete access to the Android market.
I've heard some people talk about Google Maps on their Fire, but it doesn't seem to be available. I know we have no GPS or cellular data, but that doesn't stop you from running Google Maps.
Anyone?
You can use Google Maps without GPS but normal location obviously doesn't work.
You can use GPSTether to get location information which works fine if you have the server on your Droid phone.
As for obtaining the app, you can get it from the GAPPS file off the CM site instead of installing it from the market. Just search for GAPPS and you will find the link.
There is a link to where to get the Apk somewhere in this thread:

Hello,
Recently I've bought in china ZTE BA601 for chinese market. And I can't install any google services on it. I tried to install opengapps and cgapps from custom recovery(TWRP doesn't support this device) and always get message "updates failed because of the wrong version" , though I tried versions for ARM android 5.1, which should be fine. I also tried to install google play services apk, and it crashes immediately - "google play services has stopped...", so I can't install anything related to google - inbox, translate, maps etc.
Any advise for a newbie?
I am also in the exactly same situation. I cannot even install apps from Google Play and that's probably because Google is banned from China. Any ideas?
have you tried Google apps odexed and root system to throw? sorry for my English... Google chrome is also from the market. however, I have it installed
How to root this device?
