[Q] Dorimax Boot takes nearly 20 Minutes.. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey guys,
perhaps anyone of you can help me, since i´m not allowed to post in Dorimax Development thread.
I´ve just updated my HD2 to Dorimanx-Rom-2.8.9-STABLE-7.1.0-HIGH-END-MAG.
But since i think Version 2.7.9.5 the Rom takes nearly 20 Minutes to boot up.
The Rom is installed on NAND with Swap activated. I use a 16GB Class 10 Micro SD Card, which i use since the Problem occured. (The otherone was a 2GB Class 2 i think).
I don´t think that this Problem is caused by the SD Card because the transfer rates with "SD Tools" are 7,3MB/s writing and 14.9MB/s reading.
Has anyone an Idea how i can fix this?

Never had that problem. Im running dorimanx latest build. Try installing a different rom and then switch back to dorimanx light build
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App

Mhh, had that idea already, but have to backup everything before. Would it be enough to do this by titanium backup? Or better use cwm to do this?

Issues with Extended Battery on Froyo builds ie.. does not work

Hi guys...
I've run into a bit of an issue when trying to boot the latest and greatest Froyo builds on here...
done everything as required (all works fine on 2.1 builds)
however...
it creates the datastore fine... no problem...
goes to HTC white boot screen,
then
Android animated screen...
and then a brief glimpse of a locked Sense screen, and it then vibrates and subsequently shuts down.. (not reboot just shut down)
any ideas guys it's driving me potty..
I have a clean class 2 16 Gb micro SD card
and as i said the 2.1 builds work fine..
I have now changed the topic to discuss trying to resolve the extended battery issue
I had issues with my 16GB SD Card. I switched to a 2GB one and didn't seem to encounter any problems.

Did you delete all the Android files you had before? It could be that any different file you overwrite or replace could interfere.
And second, why make a new thread for this? This easily couldve been posted here in the HD2 Linux/Android Q&A Thread - ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!! thread
See where i'm getting at?
THis way you get an answer, but the forum also stays clean and crisp without 2-3 reply threads.
apologies...
an update though.I have used a formatted 2 gig card.. nothing else on there and still nothing...
the radio is fine... so I am very confused...
Hi nutmegy
I have the very same problem. Tried to format sd, to install other roms, anything, and I cannot find a solution.
What rom/radio are you using?
Let´s find a pattern....
cheers,
Yeyes
using 2.10.50.26
Ok, I was using 2.10, and changed to 2.12, and nothing changed.
What rom do you have?
I had BSB Beast 5, and today I changed to Miri but still doesn´t work.
sorry, I didn´t see your avatar with the rom.
I tried with a 2 gb sd card and with a 8 gb sd card. No way
mmmmmm what rom to use...
someone mentioned a de fragment worked for them maybe you should try it
yea tried that.. anyway a freshly formatted sd card should do surely????!!!
I have the same issues
2.1 runs ok
2.2 does boot but just shuts down 5-10 seconds after lockscreen, tried different kernels and differend builds, formatted sd a few times, tried different radio's
Euro HD2, no simlock
SPL: 2.08 HSPL3
ROM: Stock 1.66 dutch
Radio: 2.10.50.26
at least I'm not the only one lol.
I have a 16 GB card and everything works very well !!! I use winmo miri roms 17.6 if it can help.
already tried that rom too... I dunno...
i've had same situation here. I couldn't boot any Froyo build (2.1 was fine though) with artemis build and 2.50.xx build, because my phone was switching off just after "welcome" screen. I've been trying to figure out what was the problem for past couple of days, i've been trying everything, and than...
I've switched my battery, from extended HTC HD2 battery (2400 mAh) into regular, stock 1230 mAh and.. surprisingly it worked.
I don't have any problems with any froyo build since then.
cheers

You are putting the Froyo builds in a FOLDER on the ROOT of the SD card correct? Froyo is the only one you run from a folder. The other builds go no folder, root of sd. Might also try dual boot cab or a higher class SD card. Im running Class 10 - 8GB, Miri V17.6 Lite, Radio 2.12.50.02_2, not one prob.

mmmmmm I am using the extended battery... will try that with standard.... bizarre
Ah...have the same problem, and guess what...I use the official HD Extended Battery!!!
Well spotted that man...at work now but will try standard battery this weekend.
...might be too early for assumptions but a pattern emerging...
it's a shame it doesn't work on the extended battery especially since it drains the battery so much.... mmmmmmmmmmmm

16 GB SD badgering

Greetings to whoever is reading this!
I am not a big poster but.. i really can't find a solution for this one.
I searched around the forums but i was not able to find something quite like it, maybe i overlooked something but anyway, here goes:
I recently got myself a 16GB class 6 Silicon Power microSD card. The problem i am having with this card is that whenever i try to boot into Android either from NAND or SD something rather bad happens. With NAND the boot is successful, however, after the phone is fully booted it starts to lag and is having trouble resuming from sleep (either takes an eternity to conjure up the lock screen or simply stays black) and so on.
On SD builds the story is a tad different (i've tried both MAGLDR and WinMo). On some builds Leo manages to boot initially and everything seems to work, no lag and so on, however, when i do one, in some cases more restart(s) then the phone ends up in a boot loop.
I have tried all the same ROMs with the same settings on other memory cards: a class 6 8GB and various 2gb cards with no problems.
Another fact that might be interesting is that the card has no problems working with WinMo 6.5 nor WP 7. Both boot and work fine even after several restarts. Also, i tried the card in my camera and it did not have any problems either.
So far i have tried:
Formatting the card
- using Windows (tried all possible cluster sizes and so on)
- using SD Formatter 3 (both quick and normal format)
- using EASEUS Partition manager
- using WinMo 6.5
- using Android
- i think i also tried something in CWM but don't remember exactly what i did.
Cloned my 8GB SD to the 16 GB card making it look as if it was 8GBs and had it's properties using EASEUS Partition Manager.
and also tied flashing a couple of different Radios but i don't think they had an effect...
I'm running Leo 512
HSPL 2.08
Radio: 2.14.50.04
Well, i think i mentioned everything.. if anyone has any advice, please post
If i remember anything else i'll edit
Thanks in advance!

[Q] HD2 refuses to boot any ROM

Hello,
I've bought an used HD2 (my last one got stolen) and I did every step of this guide (i did this before on multiple HD2's):
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/15/how-to-install-cwm-nand-android-on-htc-hd2-video/
but when I install MIUI (latest and second latest version), it freezes at the slide to unlock screen. I've done a task29, tried again with MIUI and again the same problem. I tried with Typhoon latest stable ROM and it got stuck in a reboot loop.
Is this HD2 broken or is there something else I can do?
ps: my sd card is a sandisk 8 GB, class 4
just to be sure, have you formatted your sd?
Yes, i formatted it in fat32 with my mac and created than an ext3 partition of 1 GB with MAGDLR/CWR
i tried with multiple sd cards too
maybe it is related to famous bad blocks in nand. try larger cwr partitions. to be exact if rom suggests 5-150-5 , make for instance 10-180-10 etc.
So if i boot a rom from sd, it should work if the pronlem is caused by the bad blocks?
yes. sd roms arent affected by bad blocks.you can try 3dak's miui or americandroid. so you can figure it out if the reason is related to internal memory or something else.
i'm able to replace the phone,so i will do that. (I probably need all thr internal memory to run ICS, so i cant afford bad blocks). Does someone know how to get this phone back to stock?

[Q] SD Rom Problem

Hello everybody
I have been using Android for quiet long time (Nand)
I bought a new sd (sandisk class 4) and tried to install a native sd rom: I tried many roms (Gengerbread, ICS, JB) and with all of them I had the same problem for all of them: sometimes the device is not waking up unless I remove the battery but every 3-5 hours it freezes again
so I had to install it nand again
Is native sd always problematic??
Any help is highly appreciated
Regards
Given the fact that I haven't seen many threads similar to this I doubt its a common issue. Try reformatting your SD card, SanDisk are supposed to be a very reliable brand.

Thanks for your quick reply
I re-formated it more than three times the same result
I followed all the steps but always had this black freezing screen
Thanks

[Q] It's possible that Android native sd rom burn up sd card?

Hello to all,
I have a cyanogen 10 on my htc hd2 (android 4.2.2) , but I am the third sd, the first two are broken after using for a few months a native rom sd.
It 'possible that the rom to be the cause of the cracks?
I have used Sandisk's sd class 10 (16 or 32 gb)
Thank you
What do you mean by "burn up"? It's not working on computer? Not working on any other device?
Have you done something in particular before they died? As far as I know, a ROM shouldn't "burn up" an SD card.

My first sd dont work anymore not readable from any device or pc. (32 Gb Sandisk class 10)
The second sd in not more formattable dont writeable i can only read sometimes (16 Gb Sandisk class 10)
I have several applications, but nothing special and the space was available in SD and I had always facebook, whatsapp connected.
But often the phone locks the screen remains black while the keys light up and am forced to remove the battery and restart the phone so.
Sometimes the desktop wallpaper changes by itself
Today I installed for the third time on a different rom sd, I have very few applications now but I still have blocks with black screen.
I followed all the instructions to install the rom that I found on youtube : Install NativeSD Rom's with 4ExtRecovery HTC HD2 4.2.2 Jellybean by Juicy Boose
Are you sure those cards are original and not some chinese ripoffs? You never know.
I have never faced nor seen this problem before, sorry I can't help.

Thnaks for reply ,
I bought cards from various professional sellers on ebay with a lot of feedback, I do not believe to be false, I may perhaps be some application or some other mysterious factor.
Someone happened to have a similar problem?

Those black screens are called "sleep of death" (sod).
They might be caused by a damaged sd card but most of the time they are caused by a buggy rom-installation.
If you are using original sd-cards ,your card will last a long time until it burns up. Native sd-installation causes many write/read-actions on sd-card that will damage the card after a while. But this happens very slowly, so that you can use your card over years with nativesd.
Your sod's may be caused by false readahed-value, false cpu settings (governour), false formated sd-cards (cluster size) and so on..
Use pixelfreaks roms, macs18max roms or tytungs roms in order to make sure that the sod's are not caused by rom
Maybe your second sd-card isn't damaged.... Maybe device-letter is missing.
