It's annoying how little sense of sharing there is on these forums considering this is all open source stuff though. Why make disparaging comments about a developer? If you don't like MIUI you don't have to use it, and it's not like they don't give credits and said from day1 that their code is based on CM7...

so, where are those official credits you're talking about?
It's common knowledge, but there's no credits. In fact, I can't find any of the link to the source of the GPL binaries MIUI provides. Care to link me to that as well?
Thanks
Every developer of every MIUI rom I've ever used always gave credits to CM in their threads, thats good enough for me. If that's not to your satisfaction perhaps you should get a job at Apple and develop for iOS, I'm sure it will satisfy your need to see your work not being used by anyone to further advance the functionality of your device.
I have to say that it's a good good good new!
I had tried the Weekly-i9100-1.10.10 but sadly got wifi problem. That's why I had to reverse to my old rom.
Hope the official one could fix that.
Everythings else is just too good for me, especially the themes, I've already missed them...
Great news!

Good news! MIUI for Incredible S is coming this Friday!!

I doubt it is ever coming. One of the MIUI devs tweeted that the Chinese devs don't really care about supporting the Evo and thus aren't implementing it. Remember, MIUI is made for the Nokia N series and is just ported to the Evo.

I believe that the answer is "Outlook not so good" as the magic 8-ball would cordially advise us.
Why is this the case? The initial builds are made by chinese developers who have a less-than-motivated urge to implement 4G in the MIUI Rom. This was not intended to have 4G to begin with as it was not meant for our EVO's. Secondly, this is closed source so if you, me, or other dev's wanted to implement code into the framework then that is just a crap shoot because you won't know where to begin, technically.
It's been mentioned that dev's offered to provide the code for Wimax and give it to the chinese dev's, fingers crossed, in hopes that they can implement it while it remains closed source to their desire.
It would be a nice add-on to the MIUI Rom but as it stands now, you shouldn't expect an ETA unless the OP suggests otherwise.

You can always attempt to bribe the chinese developers to implement it. Money does wonderful things!
I PM'd the active dev for EVO miui and mentioned this to him. He told me he is working on it. I believe that he is going to try to implement Team Wins method to get 4g working. Once MIUI has 4g working I'm def gunna keep it as a daily driver. Its too sexy!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all manufacturers are bound by the GPL license of the Linux-derived kernel to publish the source code every time they release a new kernel to the public (i.e., their users). In practice, this means they will publish a new kernel source code with each new phone and each new version of Android (2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc.). Also, if there are any critical updates that they have to apply to the kernel, they will publish that too, but such situations aren't that common. Most of the big manufacturers will publish their source code within a week of releasing their latest Android upgrade or phone.

Correct me if I'm wrong as well, but, at 125MB, this seems like more than kernel source code. The kernel patches are GPL'd, but the rest of Android is released by Google under the Apache License, meaning (as we've seen) manufacturers don't have to release any source code of customizations like blur, or sense. (see wikipedia for android, under licensing -- I had a link here, but I'm not allowed to post it until I reach 8 posts)
And if this is a 125mb kernel source download, just ignore this post...
Edit: After taking a look inside, there's both kernel source and some platform source code (I'm seeing things like webkit, bluetooth, email...), so at least some of this looks to be optionally-released stuff.
Google just dropped ICS to AOSP in case you didnt yet know. Hope to see some roms soon

There's a reason I asked for an official source ... I read an article yesterday that said Obama was pregnant with Palin's love child, but I haven't seen anything posted on rumors.gov...
On a more serious note, CM numbering has not matched Android versioning directly, but rather has been incremental, which is why I say that there's a chance the ICS version could be CM8, since a honeycomb version doesn't and won't exist.

Adobe announced that they have one more build release to add support for 4.0, but that will be it (aside from standard bug and security fixes I suppose).
http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/21/flash-for-android-not-quite-dead-yet-will-land-on-ice-cream-san/
Who knows if this will change in the future, but if any Android release in the future breaks this compatibility that might be it for Flash on mobile devices altogether.

It's actually a huge detail. I for one will be happy just to see ICS, but ICS will pale in comparison to CM9.
Why wouldn't it be a cm build? The only reason we don't have one right now was because of the source not being released for honeycomb and cm doesn't downgrade devices. Shoot, cyanogen now works for Samsung, so they'd have a business incentive to get ics on the gt10.1 fast (albiet unofficially) considering it's their flagship tablet.
Okay so here it is.
I'm doing this for the community and I'm doing this for my man original_ganjaman.
