Being rooted does matter. Most of the Devs change you software version to whatever build their ROM is and this blocks any updates from coming in, a nice safety for people who don't know most updates will break root. So unless you are on the absolutely stock EVO or the absolutely stock rooted EVO chances are you won't see this upgrade.

So I'm able to download the OTA IF I want to....but I'm scared I'll lose root, nand, s-off etc. I don't flash roms, just use root for nandroid back ups and tether!
HELP? Any advise?? I rooted using a nightly build of unrEVOked 3 ...worked perfectly.

Sorry..I'm so damn new. Is this something I should download on my sd card and use Rom Manager to install it? Will I have to wipe cache/data/davik etc? If so..do I lose my data?? Uggg!!

Hey guys, just passing along good news!! Seems Koush as added our Atrix into Rom Manager!! Now recovery can be flashed with ease.
look at the bottom addition!!
http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/02/clockwork-recovery-image.html
So should this version solve the issues we have when we do a Nandroid recovery in the current CWM build for the atrix?
One step forward!
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Ha! I literally just installed it for the fixed permissions feature and then just stumbled into this thread. Glorious day.
Still gonna wait for the atrix community to support this version of CWM first before I flash this recovery.

I would assume so since we now have official support! Not sure how this recovery differs from Tenfars' but its all good! I have not tried it yet, since I'm waiting for my replacement atrix to arrive.
So if we flash that img via fastboot will it just install over the one I have?
sweet thanks for the info!!
yay! I'm gonna wait til probably tomorrow for Rom manager update in the market (hopefully) to flash it.
Sweet flashed the new recovery! Looks good so far

Thanks for the good news!
It does not have support for the external sd card. Only recognizes the internal one. I don't recommend the install. Ill update when it adds support. I installed it through rom manager
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Yes. Someone must inform them..
External sd, is refferenced as sd-ext, instead of sdcard-ext like the atrix.
The backups are saved in internal.
A choice where to save it, would be nice.

Has anyone that has tried this emailed the author about the external card? That's a biggie, for us.

I have not had time to play with my A500 much so I went the easy "replace update.exe on your SD Card" non-rooted ICS route.
Kernel Version is 2.6.39.4+
Image Version is Acer_AV041_A500_RV16RB02_WW_GEN1
How do I get back to factory setting/factory OS. Don't care about rooting (figure I will wait until one of you more smarter people root the ICS version)?
There is root for ics.
And I'm sure there's a thread to get to stock but isn't what ur on stock ics just a leak if the now push update? Can you not update the leak? Why don't you wait till someone extracts the new update and then u flash the update.zip should be available this week knowing our development members

My fear is waiting and waiting and it never happens, seems like now is a good time since others are preparing for the update.
Hi my friends,
Now my U8800-51 is on Modifed Aurora ICS. Just wondering how could I get to FrozenPika10_v1.6.2? I try to use CWM to install Pika directly but I faid.
Then I try to go back to official ICS using U8800 pro's rom , but when in dload( step 2), my phone just keep showing unpacking while do nothing for more than 1 hour.
I go back to stock JB and try again, now it show update fail when I use dload (step 1).
Could anyone have idea about what should I do?
Thank you ~~
