A good case / bag for my Iconia... - Acer Iconia A500

I bought about four bags searching for something close to a perfect solution for my Iconia and I think I finally found something that:
1) Can hold the tablet while it's in the cover / sleeve (modified) combo while not being too tight / easy to get out.
2) Carry the bluetooth keyboard
3) carry the charger
4) Carry a few other accessories (foXl speakers / charger sometimes)
5) Not be cumbersome but still has room for a bit of expansion...
6) Doesn't have massive amounts of branding on it..
7) Well made / durable because I'm a bit hard on things
8) Has a few organizer pockets for pens / cleaning cloth / cables / biz cards
Belkin Mini Laptop bag
http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-10-2-Mini-Laptop-Carrying/dp/B004C0S48O
I think the bag is designed for netbooks, but every other bag out there I have tried was just a bit on the small side to be practical for the amount of accessories I carry to support what I want to do with it...It's not the smallest bag out there, but...It's still small enough while still allowing for all the stuff I carry...
I'm very happy now..
Ooops. I was gonna post pics but I forgot my camera today. I' ll edit and add a few photos w/ the bag loaded up.

Because I carry a bluetooth keyboard, I wanted a separate pocket / divider and the Belkin one has a full width pocket right next to the thick padding for the tab. Very convenient. Thanks for the recommend though!

I'm very happy with this one Golla G-bags , compact yet with lots of pockets and room for many things, very well made

I bought the Mobil-IT Ultimate Travel Essential Netbook Caddy. I walked into my local Office Depot a couple of weeks ago, and they had some on clearance. Ended up paying $8 for it!
It holds the tablet and my bluetooth keyboard plus a few other items. It's full of nifty pockets. What you can't see in the picture is that there's another pocket behind the netbook, which is just wide enough to hold the tablet when it's not in its case. Under the flap is a zipper pocket big enough to hold a couple of CDs or a thin external drive, plus a pocket that will hold almost any smartphone comfortably.
And for eight bucks, there's little room to complain. ;-)

PDAir Kaiser case

I bought the PDAir flip case for the Kaiser last week and got it in yesterday's mail. You can order it from PDAir direct -- there's also a guy on eBay selling them for $18.99.
The case is a very snug fit -- the keyboard slides into a pouch formed by the back of the case and a clear plastic keyboard cover. This works much better than the clear plastic & velcro keyboard cover their Wizard case used -- the Wizard case was pretty loose, and the Velcro doesn't hold up to repeated opening/closing.
The case cutouts (for buttons, USB jack, etc) match up pretty well once you get the Kaiser firmly seated -- that can take a bit of work since the case is so snug. These cutouts make the buttons easy to find -- especially the power button.
The only real problem with this case, IMHO, is the lack of microSD card storage -- previous PDAir cases have had at least one card storage pocket. Overall I'd give this case an 8.5 out of 10.

I find an 8/16GB micro sd card enough, I put the spares in my normal money wallet.
I bought one a while back and it lasted less than a month,I was using the belt clip and the leather on the back became loose and the case became useless.!
PDA Air book type case
Bought this on ebay $15 + postage another $15 to GB
I don't use belt clips, it is a little thick and tight, may wear in. I seem to buy a whole shed load of accessories initially, see what I like, and then re-cycle the rest back onto ebay.
So far i quite like it if I'm walking about, but in the office, I tend to take it out and put it my shirt pocket (why do so many work shirts these days are less a pocket!!?)
I have both PDAir and Krusell case and to be frank, I like the PDAir more. However, beware of the screwed in belt clip as it might get loosen after some time, I dropped mine once but luckily on the carpet.
I Agree that the PDAir is a pretty good case, the belt clip post is the only part I changed. For a case that can stay on and be fully functional, and clip into a car mount, this one is hard to beat.
Here's my review and pics of my "improvements";

I have since switched to the Pocket Solutions "Signature Series" flip as it's the best of all worlds for me as I can use the phone as a touch screen type and then very easily slip the phone out of the case to use the keyboard and/or show off the phone with no case. It really has the best swivel post I've ever seen;

I bought the rectangular one with the free battery and it fits great and works great. The price for the whole thing was less then half the price of a battery from AT&T. Only thing is it took almost 3 wks to get.
I'm thinking about getting another one for my office.
How about this one ? Not sure how bulky it is but it looks nice.

Who carries their uni in their pocket?

Just curious.
Do you carry your uni in your pocket where ever you go?
Ive had my uni for almost a year and I carry mine in my side pocket everywhere I go. Its creating a very big bulge. Especially when i wear my tight jeans. (Which can be very embarrassing sometimes)
I carry it all the time on my pocket since 2005
If jeans is too thight I take it on my hand (Not very confortable...)
I always have it in my side pocket ...
I carry my Universal in my back pocket of my jeans.
My job allows me to use jeans on a daily basis and I just put the Universal (which is in the shipped leather sleeve) in my left back pocket.
The size is big enough to remind me I do have the Universal there, so I don't sit with it fitted in the pocket, while being small enough to allow handling it, as it doesn't get like stuck in t he pocket.
I have other, smaller, devices and the problem is that sometimes I almost forgot that the phone is in the pocket and I was about to sit on them...
I do own a Athena now and sadly it is a little to big to fit the pocket. I had thought otherwise before getting it.
And yes, to balance it out, the right back pocket of my jeans carry my wallet.
Cheers,
vma
I'm always with the uni and the wallet on the hand. The uni goes protected in the original leather casing
I use Gomadic's carrying case. Slightly oversized - to allow larger batteries I guess.
T-Mobile belt pouch. VERY BULKY! But oh well.

Tablet Satchel Bag

Any one found a good over the shoulder bag that plays nice with our tablet and has some free space for cords and such?
I would totally recommend this series Golla G-Bags ,very compact and have good amount of space ( there is a pic with Ipad there so you can get the idea)

Are you serious? I'll just buy a solar charger, normal bag and a cartload of beer for that price.
I have a extra small sized Timbuk2 messenger bag that works great. I also use a Crumpler brand bag for my DSLR and they also make laptop-style messenger bags as well. For my work laptop, I have a Tumi, and I carry around my tablet with that if I take it to the office. All three companies make high quality products that last forever and are stylish.
This one looks pretty good. I may get it.

I got this one:

My tablet fits without removing it from its case and there are a couple of pockets for cables, etc.
Dont know if this would work but might be an option
amazon.com/Kensington-K62571US-Sling-Bag-iPad/dp/B003GSL6UQ/[/url]
I found quite a few that looked good but ended up buying a sleeve instead because I'm always bring my DSLR gear backpack with me and I can stow the tablet accessories in there. However, I would search for "netbook bags" and you'll get endless options to choose from.
I'm still always shocked that there are numerous bag and case options that cost half the price of the sophisticated device you're stowing in it.
I found a Mobil-IT "Ultimate Travel Essentials" Netbook Caddy, at Office Depot that works very well. The only problem is that it may be discontinued now...
I use SMT iPad Micro Bag that I bought for missus iPad but since she doesn't use it I take it for my A500. Fits just fine naked and even with Acer case on I can still zip up though it's bit tight. With long shoulder strap it's pefect to carry over my shoulder and have the zipped pocker as well as open pocket and big pouch on the other side for A4 papers...
OP did you find what you are looking for? I too use my photo bag to carry mine around. Vangard Up Rise, I Carry the tablet DSLR, flash and lenses.
I just ordered this timbuk2 bag from amazon. It looks pretty good and according to the company website will fit my Acer. It should arrive in a couple days, I'll try to post some pics and let you know how it works.

I have this case,
http://www.caselogic.com/case_logic...ail/index.cfm?modelid=154701&lastterm=ULA-110
Fits perfectly, the inside opening is a little thick, made for a 1.5" netbook but I added a couple layers of foam and the G Tab fits like a glove. Just about the perfect case and it's on sale.
Here it is on Amazon also,

not really, most of the bags are very sporty for a lack of a better word with straps and clips and such. i was more looking for a simple bag with velcro or even no really locking flap that will fit the tablet vertically with a single tone bag possibly gray with a movable pad on the strap.

I got this one too. If you are looking to carry just the tablet with a keyboard, a compact mouse and a couple of cords this is a very good size. Thought, it won't take anything beyond that. The tablet can fit with a case.
I use that :
http://www.aqipa.com/en/newsID/1292836297_admin_ID4d0f1dc905cd9990653140/newsdetail.html
It's cheap, compact, good quality, the tablet fits nicely in it and there's plenty of room for cables, headset, whatever. It has two room inside, one of them having a velcro that keeps the tablet vertically.

I grabbed the Targus iPad CityGear Messenger bag; the A500 is a bit too wide to fit into the intended interior sleeve, but the main compartment is just the right size for the tablet + a mini USB keyboard w/ trackpad, and I keep a 500gb USB hard drive + cables in the outer pockets

<Edit>Hrm, the Targus link isn't working, looks like this is the same as the "e-Reader" link above :|

I can't believe what a crap selection we have...

Been to Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, Staples, Target, Office Depot, Office Max and Walmart and am unable to find a reasonably priced case for my tab. Even the expensive ones are crap. The Targus Truss is widely available but too expensive for what it is and really not great at all. I can't remember all the other options I've man-handled in the past 48 hrs. At this point in my frustration, I'm looking for a generic zippered case that has a slightly hardened front and back cover (I realize it's just stiff cardboard). Ideally, I'm looking for black/dark (read not pink, yellow etc.) with edges slightly past the ends of tab. The closure doesn't matter (zippered, magnetic, velcro). There can be a bit of extra room if need be but not so much that the tab rattles around and causes imbalance in bag. A bit of protection from slight bumps or scratches would be nice but not something that can be flung across room. Currently my tab resides in a bubble padded mailing envelope that I can't recall who mailed to my house. Any ideas?
Yea I want a hot pink leather tight fitting.Acer case like but real quality
Gotta love hot pink
same size
Since its the same size of some of the others, how about looking on ebay? Its flooded with some for ones the same size.
I use a soft case that came with a laptop set. Has a Velcro strap in it, and it fits snug into it and enough spots for chargers, pad of paper, pens, etc. I'll try to update this with a pic later.
And its pink...lol
in thailand we do not have accessories...
so far just official case (and not easy to find)
no film protection for screen
have to wait one more month for get the cable very expensive
no spare part at all .... (better buy a new tablet than to repair it seems...)
and if wanna buy from amazon or else... 300% taxes... woOooow
and worst of it... not a lot of choices GENUINE
I want the TDP case... and a SCREEN SHIELD!!!

Yeah, right now this is what I'm considering on ebay

Kind of a shot in the dark as they don't give dimensions. If I get it, I'll probably cut out the net pocket.

Cheap Case and How To Protect The Tablet's Back

I wanted to share a couple of quick tips for Galaxy Tab owners...
How To Get a Case for $5
I got a case for my Tab 7.7 for under $5. Here in Asia there are tons of small notebooks for writing notes at work, university -- and they all are re-fillable which means the covers come off. I found the stationary store's row of notebooks that were just big enough to fit the Tab and looked for a cover I like. I found a nice black leather cover that fits the Tab perfectly. When I travel I slip it into the cover and I'm done.
How To Protect The Back of the Tab for $1.50 (and make it more usable!)
ALSO, on another geek tip to cheaply protect my Tab while using it. I found the back cover on my tablet was already scratching up so I spent $1.50 to buy tiny clear plastic feet, flat and sticky on one side and round on the other, and put four of them on the back. You would not believe how handy this is. It never slides around, sits perfectly on the table and never moves while I am typing or even turning it on or off (with one hand!). Purists might hate this idea because it adds a tiny bit of width in four tiny tiny tiny locations on the back of the tablet, but for me it's totally worth it and I wouldn't use the Tab without it.
You can find these small sticky plastic feet in any hardware or home store and most grocery stores in the US. The smaller the feet, the better. I put one on each corner on the plastic part of the case (where it scratches easily).
Ok, but why not spend $30 and get a real case? You already dropped $600 for a tablet, so why skimp on the protection?
