Blank screen of writing a new text message on 818pro.
Is there anyone can help? There will have no problem after hard reset, it seems one of the programs causes this problem. But does anyone know the reason? Is it memory insufficient?

I have absolutely not clue what you want here. Could you rephrase your problem again and explain it a bit more clearly please ?

when I press "New" button in order to write a new SMS (text message) of my 818pro. The content of the message is just a blank screen, I can do nothing with it except closing it. This also affects on MMS and Email.
Is there anything corrupted?

This reminds me of something yes. Could you please do these things and reply with answers to my questions ?
a) How much space do you have remaining on your device (how much free ram) ?
b) Go to Start -> Settings -> Installed Software or hows it called (the place where you see what software is installed) and tell me if the list is still there. Do you see your installed programms in the list or is it empty ?

c) Can you uninstall or install new software ? Please test with some small CAB file on your device.

is Arabizer installed on ur deivce?!when im using unofficial pdamobiz roms on my prophet,after installing arabizer,the new message window becomes exactly as u said!after disbaling the arabizer it worked again.i hope this helps.

c) yes, i can uninstall and install new software.
--> this problem exists right after I sync the data and then press soft reset button. Is this the point? because whenever I press reset button, the SMS I wrote disappear even my pda has been just done a hardreset.

I dun think "Arabizer" is installed. Is it a program? or something about "Arab"?
Anyway, I can't find it from "Remove program". Tks.

I hardreset my 818pro again, but never press the soft reset button, so far ---- OK!!! Why the reset button cause such problem on serveral version of ROM?
AKU2.3.1, AKU3.2, AKU3.3

Arabizer is a program which enables your device to show arabic fonts.when i install it on official roms,there is no problem but when i install it on pdamobiz roms then i have a blank new sms window.as i said,after disbaling the arabizer it works again.hope it helps.

There is no such program installed on my 818pro.
I am using AKU3.3 clean rom.

Probably a ROM issue then. If you recall my reply above with the few questions. I initially had in mind that you might run into the security stuff (certification messup) issue but this is not the case.

You have the answer right there. The registry is only written back periodically. After doing any changes you should not quickly follow up with a soft reset otherwise any new information will be lost. At the very least switch off and on again before doing a soft reset. This is not a ROM fault it is simply that writes to the registry are not carried out immediately.

Hello Mike,
Thanks alot for your explaination. The data cannot be written immediately, so that should not press soft reset button right after a SMS (text msg) is written. This question is answered well.
However. My main problem is why the SMS writing page became blank and never recover until a hardreset? I had this problem after sync PIM and then pressed soft reset button.

I have the same problem before...
At that time , I used AKU2.? (forget XD) and ce-star too!!!
After hard reset for about a week.....the problem will appear again= =
SO i always reset -> blank -> reset -> blank -> loop....
until I upgrade my 818pro to 2.3, ...
and I don't use ce-star again....since it always hang= =
firstly i use monster chinese...but i found that the font is very ugly.....
so at last , i don't use monster chinese anymore, I only copy mingliu font from my winXP, and edit the registry to let my 818pro can read chinese....
Also , I download the Chinese input method from monster website, but without using monster XDDD
I don't know it's the problem of AKU? or ce-star? or just i'm very lucky.......
I want to upgrade to AKU3.3 too!!! many people say that it's very fast when you compare 3.3 to 2.3.........i wanna try it~>< But now....I'm afraid the SMS blank problem will appear again= =XD

it's the problem of cestar, i used to have the same problem with cestar installed, after uninstall it the problem was gone

[Q] Marketplace problem!!! And zune!!!

My problems is in downloading... When I try to download something from marketplace I get information:"Can`t get this info right now. Check back in a little while." I have that information since I input activation key. Can someby tell why I have that error?
Second issue is in zune when I want to sync my device some window is opening with terms agreement. When I click on I accept button I have another error and I can't sync my device...
In both issue I try everything. Maybe is something in setting in my HD2?

You havent done the reg hack to make the market think your HD2 is an HD7. If you dont do that, it wont work.

I think i did the reg hack messed about so much cant remember if i have or not lol

...and you also need to set your Windows Live account location to a country where Marketplace is supported (eg. US, UK, etc.).
I also had the same issue and I solved it by creating a new Live account, setting the location to US and confirming my e-mail address.

It should be OK. Problem is, when it says that its LEO07.

Make sure that you have "cookies enabled" on your browser. I had problems downloading apps and for some reason cookies were disabled. Once enabled all was ok again.

mine is still leo07 done the hack but it's not showing up as hd7 HELP!!!

Thanks for the help, that is the guide I followed. I just cannot get phone name to become hd7 still leo 70 have activation code just keep getting check back later when trying to download from marketplace. Any ideas?

If it's still leo70 you must make all steps starting from 1. Download XBMOD Deployer.
Did you copy file from the file in /My Documents/My Ringtones/ to /Windows/ , overwrite if asked? And maybe you can't find it here?

Guys I believe that if you tried to access Marketplace before doing the reg hack then you may have no option other than to reflash your phone with WP7 and start again.

I finally got my hands on the 1.12 Engineering Mode application and have decompiled it (see attached (decompiled - not working really))
And Guess what?
I Found the File Browser !!!!!
When you go to the RD Test -> About page enter in FB or 983 and BAM! File Browser!
It is limited (can only read text files), slow and hard to use but hey it's a file browser!
Incase you were wondering, here is the URL to the package:

I found the URL where the mango cab was from Microsoft's windows update. From there I just extracted the cabs and the xaps.

that's pretty smart
may want to get in touch with notebookgrail since he performed a similar inquiry with em.xap

I already read and tried it. The problem is there isnt a custome boot loader available for the DVP and you need the cab.pks files to be signed by microsoft.

FWIW - the File browser in DVP is a plain old binary/stream reader. All it does is just reads each byte by byte and is programmed to parse for folder and file. Hence, it's useful to read text file. It can also read any file for that matter (bascailly like opening a dll or anyfile with notepad) - as long as you have patience starring at the dark screen .
FYI - this filebrowser is there since 1.10FW.
This app is really useful if you know the exact path of the file you want to read. All u do is write a short code and make a dev app that will take input of a the path and just spit the contents of it. (i had one a while back, will dig and see if it works in Mango). Again you will get tombstoned by the MS security.

I'm in EM and click RD Test. I have a textbox. How do I get to the file browser? I entered 983 in there and nothing happened.

I need some help from a DVP AT&T user with mango and all that Jazz installed.
Download the Windows Phone Device Manager from http://www.touchxperience.com/ and install it. Connect your DVP wait 30 seconds and then run the WP Device Manager as administrator. It will take a few seconds to a minute and download and install the touch explorer applicaiton. It should now conect to the application and show an image of the DVP on the desktop. If not turn off wifi, click "PC Connection" once (it will fail), hit cancel at the prompt and then turn WiFi back on. If you are connected to your home router we can connect over wifi to your desktop. Click on PC conneciton again and this time it might ask you for your computer's IP. Enter that and it should connect. Without closing the app now or letting the screen turn off go into WPDM and click on the File Explorer. Click on Windows and then find the EM.xap file. Attach it to a post here so I can see if the AT&T version is any different than the T-Mobile version. I doubt it is but who knows.

Here you go, from an unlocked AT&T device. Doubt it's any different.

The device will be back on 7004 build (the one it came with) / i'll have to flash a rom on it / ...
I don't know what happens at this point so I want to be sure.

no, it erase your Isolate Storage with all your personal settings and erase all installed apps. after reebot you still on your last build, like 8107.

Really? Because it asks me to format.. So format seems a bit more than just erasing personal info.
I always though hard reset would bring the device back to original state (incl build)
So there's no way to go back before mango, besides flashing?

Had nokia drive xap on it, by using Samsung tools it messed up the whole thing and i had again maximum unsigned apps on it so it wouldn't start anymore (incl samsung tools, advanced config, registry editor etc..)
I want to be able to have all of that back, but at the moment that's not possible with current setup.

a hard reset erase your interop- unlock also! the best flash a full unlock custom ROM, like my or from cees ....

not tested- but i think is good. limitation is only 0809 uk engl. works.
if you not like it- 2 minutes to flash a new .....

Thank you. I have flashed it with tango V3, works great and love the full unlocked features like "download from IE", change search key to open another app etc.
And now all of my interop apps, nokia drive 2.0 especially, are working again

Hello guys! i installed Pdaimatejam Rom Wp7.8 OS 7.10.8835.35 v8.5 >FULLY UNLOCKED>, and is very good rom, only some little bugs, but i want to change the buttons work, i can to this? for example to wake up the phone work only the red button, but this button don't work so good , and then, the green button start the music i can change for example to wake up the phone green and red buttons?!

use LEO Advanced for change keybinding...
put camera on green key and you can wake phone with this... you cant change red key...

yes maybe thats the problem! but when was version 7.5 he come with all programas! but now not xDD, never mind, i already installed it manually and they worked well, only advanced configuration i can't change the tiles colors, when i run the app its say: OutOfMemoryException, then i put ok and program run i can change what a want only on Tiles&Icons i can't change anything, how to i solve that? problem of sd?

maybe i don't do something right when i installed the rom? like the format of sd? well i formated it on easeus partition, like unkoun or unformatted, already don't remember, then on magldr, use24 nand, then format sd or something like that, and then flash the rom! well i have other question! on marketplace i see al in portuguese language, but on settings on region+languages is all in US! maybe i need to change some registry?? some help
