[Q] UK 3g - Beyond 3.1 - Xoom General

Anyone any news on when the UK will received 3.2 or later for the 3g version? I'm suffering from the bug that causes email replies via Exchange to get stuck in the outbox - very very annoying and basic! Additionally, anyone else frustrated in a work environment with the inability of Android to support an automatically appended domain suffix? All me work email links just go the the server name alone, I have to manually append .[company].global.corp.

Looks like Motorola have only sold 1 Xoom 3g in the UK - to me!

I do have Moto Xoom 3G in the UK. It took a lot of time for them to upgarde from 3 to 3.1 and I am sure they are taking their own sweet time for 3.2. But I am being patient as I am not facing major issues like you. I don't use exchange mail server on it.
Only way for you is to root and upgarde if you can't wait. All the best!http://media.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

Now I want ICS :-(

Meeting times not displaying on fascinate?

I'm using a stock DI01 fascinate, and have it active syncing to or corporate exchange server.
The problem I'm having is that when someone sends a meeting request, I see the time it arrived but NOT the meeting time!
Is this a problem with the stock droid email app, or a setting I can change somewhere?
Thanks in advance!

To be clear once I accept the meeting it does appear on the calendar, but I can't just accept meetings without knowing when they are!

After some reading it seems this is a major problem across all Droid platforms. Lots of folks end up using TouchDown because of it.
I do get the "accept/decline/tentative" options, which some folks don't get at all.
This is pretty basic mail integration, I'm amazed that it's gone more than a year without resolution.

Word with apostrophes not formatting right in outlook

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction, when I send emails through my company's outlook exchange the words with apostrophes end up looking like the following- wouldn't is replaced with would't. I'm running stock and using the Android keyboard. I have not seen this when sending from my gmail account.
I spent a fair amount of time trying to find an answer, maybe I'm not using the right search words.

This is a known issue with Honeycomb and has been fixed in the 3.2 update. Until then, just try to avoid using apostrophes. This only applies to replies though, new emails work fine.
Thank you for the answer!

Apostrophe
I am having the same problem. It does happen on sending emails, not just replying. Will using another keyboard or email client (such as Touchdown) resolve the issue?
It also happens in "Read it later" when someone uses ' for "....
Thanks for bringing up this question OP. I have been struggling with this issue also and find it quite embarrassing that my replies to my advisers and clients look distorted if I have an apostrophe. I'm hoping this gets fixed quickly.

That's great news! I was just struggling with this myself this week... Good to know it's going to be fixed in 3.2.

I just got mine updated to .24 as well. I checked the official ASUS development thread and it was reported to be a few days out, but I guess Google approved it, didn't enforce the quality check, or ASUS just went ahead and released it. Anyway, let's see how much of this firmware is a fix to the reboot problem.
One should do a cold boot after updating. See asus Facebook thread.
Got mine right now. And I was just about to root this thing. Hope it helps out.

VPN L2TP/IPSEC still not working.
I need that.
So anybody can give an inside review of this new update? Say it's fixing this and that.. or adding features or security patches..

Ics to .24 us
I downloaded the .24 firmware and went to install and got halfway thru and got droid on his back with the yellow triangle.Rebooted and when i unlocked a window popped up and said DM CLIENT has stopped.I went to settings apps ,manage apps pressed all to show all apps went to DM CLIENT cleared data then forced close and rebooted. After reboot went to settings about tablet check updates and got the .24 firmware update and pressed to install and the update went in smooth as silk.Just posting this incase anyone has this problem. Mine might have come from that i waas rooted on .17 and went back to stock for .21 because ota rootkeeper didn't work and when i cleared that and installed stock .17 and updated to stock .21 ....so hope this helps someone
Hmm..of all the things people are experiencing, Gmail crashing is the one thing not happening to me at all (on any release).
I just got .24 update and surprised , now we have faceunlock thing , It works great , not perfect , I don't see any difference here but I hope they also fix rr and sod which makes me sick

Gmail has always been fine for me too. The only real issue I have had is the RR's and only in deep sleep. Until the last patch (.21), they were always clean. Since then any RR I have gotten has resulted in a boot loop or frozen at the Asus logo. If I run WakeLock, no RR's at all. So heres hoping .24 will fix the one issue. I will add .24 did not break my root either.....applied the patch, restored root, did a cold reboot, turned off WakeLock and all is well....so far.

Well, I was starting to look for methods because I'm sick of the reboots. I was on XDA looking for a method when all of a sudden, I saw the update. Will still look for a method since this update wasn't 4.0.4.
Oh and the gmail app has never crashed for me.

I have had Gmail crash, but its really intermittent and tends to come and go in ways I cannot explain. Sometimes any email I open will make the app freeze, but most of the time it works fine. So far, no Gmail crashes on .24 for me.... yet.

It's a hardware revision problem. Some people experience force closes in applications like GMail due to (I suspect) a memleak in the GPU driver. Lots are effected by it but don't notice it unless they do a lotta stuff in gmail. Others have no issue.

Hi guys, does this update fix the problem where you can't wake the TF101 with the keyboard dock's keypress (with the power saving feature disabled)? Since ICS was released up till the last update, this feature has been broken and it was working very well in HC but broken since ICS was out for the TF101 - is it working now (or has it been working before for anyone in ICS for TF101)?

May it be a full rom or just an OTA file?
I found on samfirmware the link.
I am downloading it right now and the file size is 1054.8 Mb.
Will it be a full rom or just a BIG OTA?
is it possible to dowload it also for CZECH devices?
and for PORTUGAL devices? (while its not available...)
Now we need a port for N8010 wifi notes

FWIW 8000 OTA's have usually worked just fine on the 8013. Of course proceed at your own risk. The 8013 OTA will probably be out shortly. Good news
Unless it takes a long time I'll probably just wait on the 8013 release.
I read it somewhere, multi-app feature now has Facebook, Twitter and Youtube - is this true.

Sort of... The s/w is looking for h/w components that aren't present. I have no idea what that means from a stability perspective.
Metallan said:
Okay, so I flashed this on my N8013. Here's what I've noticed so far:
- There are now some new and useless apps thought for the 3G version (like Phone, and some other phone-related)
- There's always a notification stating that the device has no signal, since well, off course it doesn't have signal.
- I've had it reset about 2 times in the last 60 minutes.
I forgot to wipe after flashing, so I'll do it now and see if that last problem persists.

I can't believe there isn't a rom based on this yet <ducking>
So, flashed this on my N8013 with odin. Never did a wipe. System came back up with all my apps and settings but on this leak from Germany. Oddly, so far everything seems to be working ok.
So, since I am on an N8013, which of course doesn't have a modem, Activesync to an Exchange server fails, as it is looking for a proper APN, which of course I cannot add. Does anyone know of a work-around to get this to work? I can always do just the email via IMAP, but it would be nice to have the whole shabang without needing a 3rd party app like Touchdown, which I don't much care for.
Thanks

[Q] 4.2 Stock Leap WIFI

Hi,
Has anyone who has updated to 4.2 tried connecting to a wifi network protected by leap, I am unable to connect since the update, I know my credentials are still correct and valid as my sensation on 4.03 are connecting still.
Thanks Andi
About to find out.
EDIT: I'm on my work network right now and LEAP is working fine. I used the factory image to update after the ota borked maps and the network location provider.

Hi!
same issue has been seen on my Nexus 7 since OTA update to 4.2.
Ii is also same that my credentials are still collect because my another device, Galaxy-S, is working fine thru leap authentication.
I used "Leap WiFi" from Google Play to set credentials.
Looking forward hearing some hints to solve this.

Thanks for letting me know, I wonder if we have slightly different implementations on our networks as I can see someone else is having the same issue as me.
Just discovered the same issue, will probably put off updating my Gnex to 4.2 at this rate.
My N7 now won't connect to my work's network. I've reached out the developer of LEAP Wifi Free to see if they will investigate.
same here
i'm also trying to connect to the company network after updating to 4.2 using the incremental zip file via adb
the credentials are correct, as I could log in with them using my old Atrix 4G and my collegue's Nexus 7 still on 4.1.2
I'll try to get into our office tomorrow and perform a factory reset (however I doubt it would help)
I've been getting some problems too, when connecting to college network. My best guess would be the new file structure on 4.2 is the problem why many things are broken...

a factory reset won't solve it.authenticating with a network needing LEAP credentials is still failing
I can confirm LEAP being broken on Nexus 7 with stock 4.2
How about pimping the gui whilst your on this google ? We have to use custom apps to achieve basic functionality for years now...
Confirm my N7 3G on stock 4.2.1 has LEAP wifi broken. Tried Leap Wifi, still no luck.
Why is Google so reluctant to officially support Cisco Leap? Before 4.2 update, you have to hack config file to get connection, meanwhile LEAP has been supported very well day back to my still owning iphone 3G. And in IOS you just don't care what kind of technology is used (WPA, WEP, how can normal user understand such terms?), just enter necessary information, normally just pwd, or user+pwd for LEAP, and that's all.
Broken also on S3, 4.1.2 official firmware. Weird, anybody got a workaround?

Hiya,
not that I have found so far, it is very annoying!
I have been using LEAP at work every day since I got my n7. No problems at all. I think it might be a good idea to post the settings to see if there is something you're doing differently.
