Ok so its stable, does that mean that all the missing features are there now? Or that it won't crash when doing certain things?

I installed it yesterday and all seems fine. Battery didnt last through the day though. it was the my first charge on Cyanogen so its a little early to report

I have runned it since yesterday and it is awesome!

I have installed it today. So far it looks good except one issue. Market Crashed.
I have cleared the cache and deleted the data. But nothing seems to work.

Thanks for the info, downloading...

Hi! I just flashed mine from #134 nightlies to stable of CM7.1. How's your battery doing? I noticed that this stable version seems to drain more charge than the nightlies 134.

I also need on more info. I want to install Email client for SGS II. I have done it the ways I have done on other roms.
i.e. copy the Email.apk on the /system/app folder.
It did not work.
After some google search, I found about permissions, and changed the permissions to 644 using chmod and owner and group to "root" via chown. But it doesnt seem to be working.
And now I have lost original email client which came with along with the ROM.
Any Idea how to install system apps on CM7, the terminal emulator way doesnt seems to work. Unless I am missing something.

Yes battery life is still bad....

You can't install samsung based apps on Cyanogen. It's based on AOSP rather then Samsung framework. You can just get the email app from system/apps in the zip you flashed on cyanogen and just install that

i found stock roms better then cm7

From what I can tell, the icons are all new. Although maps is older version and will get updated via Market and icon will be replaced back to normal. Other than that, not much difference.
It has the Google search app and the updated Voice Search.
Would love to know why there is a Twitter client in the gapps package.
does anyone know where i can get GAPPS for CM6?....i just rooted about 30 mins ago and im totally lost and every link is broken......i really need some help LOL....i know that sounded desprate
we have moved on to cm7, can still get the cm6 gapps at http://goo-inside.me/
wow thats real overwhelming to me LOL....should i just flas CM7?.....would that be a better option for me? (and is everything included with CM7?)....sorry for all the questions...did my homework on rooting, but all the stuff that comes after root im not so keen on.....thank alot
can you tell me which one i need for my particular ROM?>
HDPI
MDPI
MDPI-TINY
MDPI-TEGRA
hdpi
cm7 nightlies have 4g now, they are working very well and have everything that cm6 had, there are a few minor issues such as dialer wakelock, titanium not auto restoring, slow pc to phone transfers
ok cool....but im having a problem....i downloaded CM7 onto my PC and dropped it into my SDcard....went to the bootloader and selected RECOVERY....but its not taking me to the Clockwork MOD....its just giving me the option to REBOOT, REBOOT BOOTLOADER, AND HBOOT USB..........did i do something wrong?....this is the first time im flashing a ROM over another
P.S. Do i have to delete Cm6 thats in my SDcard, then drop CM7 into the SDcard.....then try to go into recovery?....im not really sure

New Market 2.2.10 apk

Here ya go guys, it's Market v2.2.10. It installed and runs perfectly on my Crackflashers AOSP Gingerbread ROM. It's also fixed some issues where I would have to download something five or six times before it would install.
Parse error. Please post in a zip.

Here you go.
Blackrose, how did you install it?
I tried using Root Explorer to rename Vending.apk to Vending.apk.bak and then installing the file. I rebooted, but started getting FCs. I tried restoring the old Market but ended up needing to NANDroid. I am running Salvage Mod 9.6.
None of these are working.
Tried these and several others found around xda.. apparently its also being pushed to Nexus S. None of them work. Tried copying to /system/app and /data/app None of them in either place works.
Using stock 2.2 3.70 rooted rom.

I'm guessing it's because it was specifically designed for Gingerbread.
You have to push it via ADB..
ex..
adb push yourpathname\com.android.vending-1.apk /data/app
This worked for me.

I pushed this one via ADB, and while it opens and things look ok, as soon as I tap on a product I get an FC.
Is there something that needs to be done to initialize it? I did clear all the market settings before trying it.
Solution
Its not really much of a solution, more like an insight.
The reason why no one can install the market is because you flashed a rom without the market, then installed a newer version of gapps. The newer version of gapps assumes you updated and still have the market apk installed. The gapps file only includes the apk to update the market app.
Flash an older copy of gapps and then boot your phone. Run the setup and then flash an updated gapps. You now have the updated market.
Also anyone that was having the home button not working issue, this resolves it. Home button stopped working as a result of the above issue. You may have to install a rooted stock rom and then flash cm 6.1.2 and then your kernel and then the gapps in the above order.

No wifi on AOSP ROMs

When I got my GS2, I gave my MT4G to my wife. She was using CM7, so I put that on the phone. It was giving her problems (one of which I'll get to) so I switched to Royal Ginger. That worked better except for still no wifi. I turn wifi on and the icon never shows up top. Looking under wifi settings, it never scans for any networks and after about thirty seconds, says turning off and the check mark goes away. Any suggestions? Fix permissions, reboots, battery pulls don't work.
Sent from my beastly Galaxy S 2.
Ya best thing would be to get away from that rom. I would suggest doing a full wipe and then have head over to cm 7.1. It is really stable and she will be quite pleased with it
This problem existed on CM7 as well.

There's something else going on, uninstalling Apollo shouldn't do that.
Restore your previous set up and save flashing stuff for another day, you seem to be encountering a lot of issues today.

OK I got paranoid android on my phone and kinda liking it but how do I resize widget like I could in cm - I was able to resize them however I wanted and on this its like stock that widgets can't do that
Research more, flash less for a while.
Apollo is part of CM itself and NOT in the GAPPs package. I delete it and have no issues doing so (I delete it BEFORE flashing the ROM)

What is a Good Rom for this phone.

What is a good rom to run on this phone? I have tried a few and can't seem to find anything that works with out issue. I tried the latest SlimRom which I liked but It doesn't allow me root access. So apps like titanium backup don't work I've tried I think its OEO or something of that nature and it was ok and I don't care for CM11.

I have never found a more functional rom than mhous33 dst stock or the avistralia deodexed mod.
All the cm, pacman, aokp...... never work FOR ME in all the capacities of stock.
About TiBu, I have always found issues with it.
I use recovery advanced restore to move apps.
You can move your stock data to both the dst & avistralia roms.

They do have use to you because you would find the info you're looking for, if you take the time to read them.
I tried out SlimKat and it seemed ok but i really don't like how little they made the fonts and the screens in it. Some of us older people need bigger. I also had to flash the SU binary update as its not added to it. I tried out the beta 2 edition. After my data resets I plan on trying the DST one that was also suggested. Sometimes not having home internet sucks.
