[GUIDE]Best AOSP(CM7.Decks.MIUI) configuration. - EVO 4G General

Okay, so recently Ive been seeing a lot of complaining about cm7, decks, miui etc.
I will show you my favorite way of doing things which has kept me hooked since late last year.
Don't blame me for any problems.
If you need the sense equivalent of this, go here.
DOWNLOADS:
:Rom:
Decks AOSP. You can use any other AOSP rom of choice, like CM7 Nightlies. As long as its based off cm7, you can follow this guide and be fine. Settings may be different though.
DON'T flash anything yet.
:Kernel:
Download a SavagedZen Kernel. I recommend CFS Havs. I understand that they havent updated recently but from my personal experience, SZ is amazing.
P.S. This is needed for what I'll be showing you later on so you will definitely not get the results expected from using Tiamat or any other kernel.
If you are not sure on what kernel or rom you want to use, go to this link.
:Misc:
Here are other things that you need to download.
Format All Zip
Use this everytime you install a rom. Dont worry, it does not touch your sd card.
Gapps for CM7
Gapps for Decks
Gapps for Decks with voicemail
Always need your Gapps!
I have created my self a flashable titanium backup zip using the app(its in the preferences somewhere) and that helps out a bunch.
GPS Drivers
Fixes GPS with AOSP.
SuperCharger Script
This thing is freakin awesome.
There will be other things to download later on but they are apps.
Before we move on, do this:

Flash sense based ROM
Download MSL Reader from market
Run MSL Reader (write down the #)
Open the phone keypad
Type ##GPSCLRX#
Enter your MSL at next prompt
Phone will reboot in 10th seconds
So now lets get on with the fun stuff.

Put every single one of these files on the root of your Sd card. This means that the files should be in no folders! directly on your card.
You SHOULD be using AmonRA recovery.
If not I highly recommend you do that.
FLASHING
Make sure everything you need is backed up already
1. Boot into recovery
2. Nandroid Backup your current rom[Optional]
3. Flash Format all zip[2x if you would like]
P.S. Format all doesn't wipe sd-ext. Do that through recovery wipe options
4. Flash rom
5. Flash kernel
6. Flash Gapps, GPS Fix, and Titanium backup if you have it[No particular order for these]
7. Reboot
AFTER FLASH
Go through everything, setup your accounts
Download Script Manager, Juice Defender, System Tuner, and Terminal Emulator[Most AOSP roms already have this]
:SuperCharger:
1. Open Script Manager and navigate to the root of your Sd card which is where the SuperCharger script should be
2. Run the script as root only. Leave everything else unchanged
3. Choose your scrolling speed options.. you should go fast
4. When the list of options is given, choose either of the aggressive setting. I use the first one
The new updates are making everything kind of confusing.
All the options you get have a bunch of numbers next to them; I'm going to just type out which ones are the ones that I recommend.
[6,8,24,30,40,50] My favorite.
[6,8,25,30,35,35] A bit more aggressive then needed, but still good.
5. After it is done and it goes back to the numbered options, press back and leave the script in background
6. Navigate all the way back to your phone's system files
7. Go into system/etc and then into init.d
8. Run as root and boot the supercharger file in there
9. Reboot
:System tuner:
Car-o-Dope Tweaks said:
Click "tweaks", select SD Cards, change your io scheduler from bfq to deadline, click boot settings, select Re-apply SD tweak and select init.d script. exit system tuner.
Click to collapse
Also, change cache size to 4096
:CPU settings:
Settings > CyanogenMod settings/Advanced settings > Performance > CPU settings
1. Available governors, choose conservative
2. Check set on boot
If you want to go more advanced and be able to set up profiles and other things, check out SetCpu
If you do choose SetCpu, do NOT mess with Cm7 CPU settings.
P.S. This is where Tiamat lacks. I have no lag using conservative on SZ kernel.
P.S.2. Since we are using a HAVS kernel and are undervolting, overclocking is dangerous.
P.S.3. If your rom doesn't have these options, you can use SetCpu to do the same exact thing.
:JuiceDefender:[Optional]
This app can get you A LOT more battery life if used right.
I use the ultimate version of this and I highly recommend you buy it yourself.
1. Set profile to advanced
2. [About] Go down and uncheck enable after unlock
Some kind of notification is needed or else JD will be killed
3. [Controls] Change to your needs, I leave everything untouched
4. [Schedules] Disable night[Optional]
5. [Schedules] Change to your needs, I leave everything untouched
6. [Triggers] Disable Battery[Optional]
7. [Triggers] Change to your needs, I leave everything untouched
One more thing.. there's this app called chainfire 3d I use it but I haven't really noticed any difference with anything. You should try it out and let me know
Tips
1. Turn off haptic feedback
Settings > Sounds > uncheck haptic feedback
Less lag + a little bit more juice
2. Kill apps by holding down back button
Only tested on cm7/decks. Other roms may be different
Settings > Applications > Development > check Stop app via long press back button
3. Make WiFi stay on
Settings > Wireless & Networks > Wi-Fi settings > menu > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy > Never
Android, on default, turns of WiFi when the screen is turned off. This will yield worse battery life since 3g/4g sucks much more battery life than WiFi
4. Increase VM heap size
Settings > Advanced/CyanogenMod7 settings > Performance > VM heap size > 48m > Reboot
5. Add Silent slate
Settings > Advanced/CyanogenMod7 settings > Sound > Check Silent slate
Adds silence option for notifications when you use vol+/vol-
6. Use Google voice for voice mail
7. Many AOSP experts would recommend using decks v1.3d over 1.3 but I haven't really noticed much of a difference and the new features in 1.3 are too big a compromise for me. If 1.3 is not working out for you, definitely try 1.3d.
New doesn't always = better
bairds1 said:
When using 1.3d, do the 2 fixes for it - proximity and phone fix - one is a zip to flash and the other is a file overwrite/replacement. Details and links in Deck's thread.

One of the main reasons I dislike sense
Apps that I can't live without
1. Rom Toolbox
PLENTY of things you can do with this rom.
Get rid of ads, change boot anim., etc etc etc
2. LauncherPro
HATE stock android launcher
There are many other ones like ADW, GO launcher, WP7 etc..
3. Adobe reader and flash
4. MixZing
HATE stock android music
Many other options here
5. Google Maps
6.Root explorer
7. Twonky server(for Xbox or other things streaming)
You have a tip or an app? Let me know and ill add it to here
Warning: Reflashing Rom or kernel can reset some of these things
Now, you will have optimal performance and optimal battery life.
Plain AOSP is ugly though right? Look in the market for themes or go to the XDA android themes section
You can also use the UOT theme kitchen. It is truly amazing and very easy to use. It has churned out quite a few sexy themes for me.
Let me know of any suggestions you have.
And the last P.S. in this thread: Every Evo is different. You may not have the same perfect results as me. If you experience things like random reboots, lag, bad battery etc then you should post in this thread and either me or other people will help you achieve my results for your phone.
Edit to ^: If you have terrible battery life, you most likely have a wake lock issue. There are hundreds of threads on this and how to fix it. Here's one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128135
If my thread doesn't seem to give you the desired results check out the increasingly popular car o dope tweaks: http://vaelek.com/index.php/topic/1916-guide-car-o-dopes-supersonic-tweaking-guide-v102-120411/
Hit the thanks button if you fall in love with your phone and cant run any other rom ever again

Decent guide, but if you're using a havs kernel, setcpu can conflict and do more harm then good.

Nice guide, especially for the newer people joining our Supersonic group. I would only add a couple of points for consideration. After trying every aosp rom available, including the latest CM nightly's (2.3.7), my favorite is Deck's 2.3.4 (version 1.2.1) ... very quick, smooth, and quite stable. I also think that S/Z's "interactive x" governor is the best.

And with Interactive X you wouldn't need screen-off profiles.
CM7 has "Advanced Settings" (I forget the name but it is in settings) so you really wouldn't need SetCpu. You can set min/max speeds and governor. If you have profiles, SetCpu would run in the background.
People should still wipe everything in recovery, not relying on zips to do it though.

The zips are much more reliable.
I had read before about the havs thing but I haven't noticed any problems so whatever. I will finish this later tonight because I'm at work right now

Not saying that the wipe zips aren't unreliable, but usually I wipe everything by hand then run one of the zips. For example, the zip you provided doesn't wipe sdext. The one you gave is actually a good one as it wipes boot and system along with the usual (sometimes I don't see one or the other in other zips).
And the HAVS issue is more when you are overclocking, overclocking and undervolting don't go well together.

Ill add those in. Thanks.
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.

Personally, smartass or smartassV2 are the best governors in my opinion.

thanks for this thread my man

I like conservative because it stays at the min much more then any other governor
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.

Updating. Anymore suggestions?

[ROM][BL1.1][BL1.2] GtabComb beta 3.3 (updated 7/27/2011) Gtablet\Zpad T2

MOD EDIT: AS WE ARE REORGANIZING THE GTABLET FORUM - ALL ROMS/KERNELS/ETC WILL HAVE THEIR Q&A POSTS MOVED TO THE Q&A SECTION.
THE Q&A LOCATION FOR THIS ROM IS HERE
Thanks.
---------------------------------------
STANDARD DISCLAIMER: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. By running this firmware mod, you agree that there is the possibility that you may brick your device and neither myself, XDA nor Viewsonic are responsible for supporting you if that occurs. In this case, it is required that you learn and setup nvflash prior to running this mod.
This is a port of AdamComb with pershoot kernel and some tweak for performance and usability. Thanks all the greatest Adam, Vegan, Gtab devs that make this rom possible.
Install instruction:
1. Make sure the version of your bootloader and download the corresponding rom
2. I guess most of you should already be in CWM, but if you are not. update the recovery to CWM first. Stock recovery might work but you need to do some work and CWM is much better anyway.
3. Wipe data / Factory reset. It might work well, but you will most likely have problems without doing this.
4. Using the "install from sdcard" to install and enjoy.
Features: Very fast and stable
For AdamComb features, check its original post at tabletroms.
1. Overclocked by default, max frequesy adjusted by battery level.
-- you could use setcpu to adjust the min, max frequency. The build-in script for cpu management respect the setting from setcpu
2. Tweaked internal storage & SD card read speeds
3. Annoying ads in programs are blocked
4. Calkulin's battery saving script
5. data2loop works super well
6. pre-load some useful modules at boot time, e.g. cifs, ntfs, utf8, tun.
Known Issues:
1. Anything related to hardware acceleration
2. Stock Camera App does not work.
Beta 3.3: AdamComb v0.2 + pershoot's kernel 07/25/11
[BL1.1]

[BL1.2]
http://dev-host.org/k0zcozlozwgi/GtabComb_b3.3_bl1.2.zip
changelog:
1. update to pershoot 26.32.43 kernel. As already confirmed by some users, this version runs faster and hopefully it also resolve the BT tether issue
2. fix the "import" bug in init.rc.
3. change the label of sdcard and mircosd to be the same as in stock version. So far I have not got any issue and it does fix the "install unsuccessful" problem for some app.
4. remove some libs that does not use in gtab to free up some space. now all the libs in pershoot kernel are available in this rom. just edit the /system/etc/init.d/05modules to add your desired lib in the modules string.
5. Thanks all you guys for testing this and digging into issues. This help me a lot to resolve some issues here. It is the effort from all of us that make this rom better and better.
Beta 3.2: AdamComb v0.2 + pershoot's kernel 07/02/11
[BL1.1]
link: http://www.mediafire.com/?sy8oxpcrdufr4e3
[BL1.2]
link: http://www.mediafire.com/?xqoo08e1m49no1d
changelog:
1. battery life improved a lot
2. overall system performance improvement.
3. partially fixed bluetooth. Not sure how much it works (pulling some of bluetooth libs from flashback)
4. remove street and office app. put back camera app (it still fc, put it here so that some power user could play on it to see if we could find a fix here)
5. fix an issue that usb connect and debug notification does not disappear when the usb is disconnected (well, it still do not work if the usb is disconnected when the system is on sleep)
6. code reorganization and clean up. make it easier for some power user to change settings and plug in scripts without the need to unpack/repack boot.img. Hopefully we could have more power user to play with the system and further improved this rom.
7. change the cpu governor to respect on cpumaster, so you can use both setcpu or cpumaster to adjust the voltage if you really do not like the cpu managed by the buildin script.
8 change bootanimation (pulling from the bootanimation collection by thinkdevoid @tabletroms)
Again, back up and wipe data and factory reset (at least wipe dalvik cache) if you want a smooth experience. Almost all unexpected FCs are related to NOT wiping data

This is the old rom that based on Roebee's BOS HoneyComb. Check Roebeet's orginal post for more detail.
Besides the greatness of BOS, this rom also have some additional features:
1. Overclocked by default (max frequesy adjusted by battery level)
2. Tweaked internal storage & SD card read speeds
3. Annoying ads in programs are blocked
4. Calkulin's battery saving script
Known Issues:
1. All the BOS issues apply here

alpha 1.6 (based on BOS_a6.0)
Note: users in other roms have mix experience on data2loop. It works very well for me, but I do not know how it will work for you. If it works well, you should expect data intesive apps (e.g. email, galary, market, etc) load much faster. If you do not know what data2loop is and its potential risk, do not flash a1.6.2. a1.6.1 already perform very well. you should wipe user data/factory reset before flashing a1.6.2 if you decide to try it.

Just flashed this last night and had about 2 hours with it (not a lot of time at all but) I love it!!! It's my first Honeycomb ROM. Great so far... what a learning curve HC is? Just weird but I am getting the hang of it. Thanks all for your hard work!

Loving the rom so far. Really great job, one question though. Is there a way to make it so pressing the home button takes me to the main screen instead of to the large clock? I'm probably just messing an easy setting or something, but I can't seem to find it.
Edit: For anyone interested, unless there is another way that I'm aware of, you can fix this by using titanium backup to freeze the clock in the backup/restore menu. This breaks the alarm clock though. Hope that helps, maybe someone else will have a better solution

What you mean by "large clock"?
I am on 1.6.2 and anytime I press home button I end on home screen. :-O
First HC rom here too, really nice interface improvements. Thanks to the devs for giving us this!
Is it just me, or is anyone else "missing" the menu bar at the bottom of the home screen with home, menu, back etc keys?
EDIT: Issue was resolved by wiping and reinstalling. Think it might have been caused because I launched VLT Launcher first time I booted up HC and not the default launcher.
hey guys, i just upgraded to this from vegan 5.1.1 and so far im liking it! Its worked fairly well for my games so far including plants vs zombies keep up the great work!

When i would press home either on my gtab or on the screen, the screen would change to a large clock. If you've ever seen the desk clock feature on a droid (like when its in the dock), thats what it looked like.
I had the previous BOS version from this thread of 6/24 (?) and it ran fine. I downloaded 1.62 and it would not run - it would not go past lock screen. 1.61 did the same thing. Did full wipe before and after install, and downloaded both versions again and after install the same thing happened. I am now downloading 1.52 and will try that one.

Good so far
Awsome ROM, only one problem so far for me. Facebook for Android 1.6 keeps saying I don't have a connection. While facebook with the browser works fine.

I decided to go back to alpha1.5 because lack of ad-hoc network support is too much an issue considering that Gtab is wifi only and tethering to my android phone is the only way to go online!!!
Anyway I just read this on the Slatedroid forum:
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/18755-ad-hoc-network/
This file and method are meant for the Iconia Tab but I posted a question asking if it could work also on other tablets. Will let you know.
Could someone smarter then me try to explain why the heck you need such weird thing like ad-hoc wifi :-O
I know that Google disabled some useful things in Android, but I am sure ad-hoc was not disabled, it was simply ommited as completely obsolete and useless way of connection.
Every modern WiFi chip can act as AP, so there is no reason to use ad-hoc. Is it possible to secure it? I am not sure, but I doubt it...
Anyway, I am using my other android phone for wifi tethering and there is definitely no need for ad-hoc for wifi tethering...
But maybe I am completely dumb. In that case, please educate me a bit...

really like it, very fast and looks great. i have a few questions:
1. the camera is not working at all.
2. i have no volume control at all, it is full or off no in between.
Any one else see tjis or have a solution to fix it???

I've seen a couple AOSP guides pop up recently... That's great, but there are some people like me who use Sense!
If you are looking for an AOSP guide, check out Arrow's and Crossrocker's guides, they are pretty impressive!
I am not responsible for bricks/mistakes, I am not perfect and neither are you... All of this works for me, I don't know why it wouldn't work for you, sorry, not responsible
Most of this is universal for any networks. Some stuff is not, like the Hands-Free Activation and PRL update and radio updates.
POST ONE IS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE 2.3.3. IF YOU HAVE 2.3.5, THEN MORE WORK IS REQUIRED AND I WILL WRITE A GUIDE FOR Y'ALL SOON
Let's start out first with rooting. Basically any phone now has Gingerbread, and the only method to root Gingerbread is with Revolutionary.io. I have never used this method, so feel free to tell me and I will add on.
Download HTC drivers here. Go to "Downloads" folder of your computer, double-click and run.
Download the Revoltionary file here and extract it to your desktop.
Open the folder and run the Revolutionary script.
Revolutionary will detect your phone's specific serial number. Use that to generate the beta key on the revolutionary website.
Enter the beta key in the Revolutionary terminal window on your computer. Copy and paste the key from the Revolutionary website to the terminal window to avoid any issues.
Let Revolutionary run.
You should now have S-Off.
Download Amon Ra here. When the download finishes, rename it to PC36IMG (the whole name should be PC36IMG.zip - most people have extension names hidden so name it PC36IMG). The thread is here
Turn on your phone, mount as disk drive and put it on the root of your SD card (not in folders).
Go into Settings - Applications - and uncheck Fast boot.
Turn phone off.
Hold volume-down and power button. This will take you to HBOOT.
HBOOT will look for files. It will detect the PC36IMG.zip. When it asks if you want to update, choose "Yes" by hitting volume-up. Let it do its thing, then it will ask if you want to reboot. "Yes" again.
You now have S-Off and a custom recovery. Let's get you the latest radios. I have had the best battery life with them so far. HAVE YOUR PHONE FULLY CHARGED.
Download time: All new radios are now in one "flashable" zip. Go to the Mik Mik here, and look under the RECOVERY Version for Baseband 2.15.00.12.19, PRI 2.33_003, WiMax 27243 & NV 2.15_003, or click here.
Plug up the phone to the computer. Mount as disk drive in dropdown menu.
Delete the PC36IMG.zip
Transfer the downloaded radio .zip to your phone.
Unmount in dropdown menu.
Turn phone off, get into HBOOT.
HBOOT will serarch for files. It won't find any. So use your volume keys to navigate to "Recovery" and select with power button.
Ah, recovery mode... the place to flash ROMs... let's go over some basic instructions. Navigate with volume keys, select with power button. You can also navigate up (with the home capacitive button) and down (with the menu capacitive button) and select (with the search capacitive button) and go back (with the back capacitive button).
USB-MS Toggle – This will connect your phone to your computer so you can edit/delete/modify files on your SD Card.
Backup/Restore – Create Nandroids (backups) here. You also restore from backups here.
Flash Zip From SD Card – Flash ROMs, kernels, themes and mods here. Obviously.
Wipe – The lifeblood of flashing ROMs, you need to properly wipe every time you flash something. I will explain later.
Partition SD Card – This allows advanced storage of cache, dalvik or data onto the SD card, giving you more space on the phone. This is extremely helpful with the newer, larger ROMs. Highly recommended, basically a requirement.
Navigate to Backup/Restore. Choose Nandroid backup.
Select boot, system, data, recovery, android.secure and wimax with volume keys and select Perform Backup. (Cache is not needed because there is no need to save temporary files).
This is your fully stock backup. Keep this safe. I keep mine on my computer.
Return to the main screen of recovery. Navigate to Wipe.
Select cache, it will wipe.
Select dalvik, it will wipe.
Return to main screen of recovery. Go to "Flash zip from sdcard".
Break time. This stuff coming up is very important. I am not responsible if you don't follow directions. DO NOT PULL BATTERY.
Select CM-EVO_Radio-2.15.00.12.19_PRI-2.33_WiMax_NV. Once it finishes, return to main screen of recovery. Select "Reboot system now".
Let the phone sit there. You should see the splash screen and then a box with a phone and green arrow. Let it sit there. This will reboot you to recovery.
Perfect. You now have the latest radios. Time to flash a custom ROM... And we are all here for custom ROMs, now aren't we?
See next post...
You should still be in recovery mode. Time to flash custom ROMs? Nope! First we shall partition your SD card. Before that, we are going to back up stuff on your SD card to the computer. Because partitioning your card will wipe it clean.
I am going to assume you have the stock 8 gigabyte card.
You should still be in recovery mode.
Plug up phone to your computer. Select "Mount as MS" in main menu of recovery.
Your computer should pop up with "Removable Disk".
Create a folder on your Desktop. Drag and drop files from Removable Disk to the folder on your desktop. You don't need those radio files anymore.
Is everything done transferring? Time to make the partition.
Select "Partition sdcard" in main menu, select Partition SD card.
Set swap size to 256 MB. Use volume keys to get to this number then select with power button.
Set EXT2 size as 1,024 MB.
Select to continue. Let it do its thing.
In "Partition sdcard" menu, choose SD: ext2 to ext3. Let it sit there.
DO NOT DO ext3 to ext4. DO NOT DO IT.
Your SD card is now partitioned. Excellent. Let's put everything back on your card... Almost time to start flashing...
Plug up phone to your computer. Select "Mount as MS" in main menu of recovery.
Your computer should pop up with "Removable Disk".
Remember where you stored all of your stuff earlier? Drag and drop files from folder to your phone again.
Unmount with power button.
FLASHING TIME!
Let's start out nice and smooth. Let's start out with a (mostly) stock rooted ROM .
I suggest Barebones, thread here. Find the download link in the OP for the odex one and download. Don't extract or anything
When the download is finished, mount as MS again. Transfer to your phone.
Transfer done? Unmount and navigate to the Wipe menu.
Wipe everything except for SD card. Twice. Believe me. Do it every time you flash a ROM.
Navigate to "Flash zip from sdcard" and find the Barebones .zip. Select with power button.
You are now flashing your first custom ROM, congratulations!
Let it sit there until it finishes. Then get back to the main menu and "Reboot system now".
Let your phone sit for a couple minutes. Skip sign-in. Let it sit on the homescreen for a couple minutes then reboot. Adjust all of your settings then reboot. Then feel free to do your set-up.
Let's get you some good data speeds. First, go to Settings - System Updates - and update PRL.Once that finishes, reboot.
Go to Market and get MSL Reader. Open the app. If it asks for "Superuser Privileges" then accept. It will tell you a 6-digit code. This code is unique to your phone. Write it down, but you can always get it again.
Go to Phone (Dial ##3282#, Choose edit mode) and enter your MSL code
select Data Profile
Hit the menu button and choose restore.
Just sit there, your phone should reboot. If it doesn't, then hold the power button and reboot.
Your phone should do "Hands-Free Provision". Once it says your phone has been provisioned, hit "Okay".
Once it starts to check for PRL update, hit cancel.
Turn on 4G, give it time to turn on (it doesn't need to connect)
Go to Phone (Dial ##3282#, Choose edit mode) and enter your MSL code. Select Advanced, scroll down to RTSP Proxy Port and HTTP PD Proxy Port. Click on them, set them to 0 (zero).
Set RTSP Proxy Address and HTTP PD Proxy Address to 0.0.0.0
Go back to the main menu of EPST and select Wimax
Find EntryRX and click on it
Change value from -89 to -110. Hit "Okay"
Hit the menu button and "Commit Changes" or "Commit Modifications". Your phone will reboot.
Go to Settings - System Updates - and Update Profile.
Once it finishes, reboot
You should now have about as good speeds as you can have on Sprint.
Feeling more adventurous? Let's try some different ROMs!
Next post...
This guide is about Sense ROMs, right? I've tried most of them all, but of course, choose whatever is best for you.
Suggested ROMs:
Sense 1.0: These are Evo 4G-based, based off of stock. We all know what stock software features are like, but there have been some additions like Quick Settings in the notification bar, small things mostly. Themed and tweaked and optimized, these are safe bets. My suggestion? The Evo Classic. Tommytomatoe is an amazing developer and puts out quality work. Plenty of themes available for it; my favorite is Supreme Classic. My second choice is Blazer Rom. Theme looks pretty sweet and runs smoothly.
Sense 2.1: This Sense version brought some major changes, like HTC Hub,Quick Settings, and a new camera. These are Evo Shift-based, nothing comes to mind that doesn't work. These are ports from different phones, so they were not designed for our phones. Basically everything is resized so it looks different. My suggestion? MikG. Aamikam has been around for quite some time, and has made some extremely popular ROMs. He constantly updates them, fixing and updating features. I don't have a second choice, because I love MikG.
Sense 3.0: This Sense version brought changes like the 3D animations, lockscreen, and Watch (movie app). These are mostly Evo 3D-based. Mostly everything works. Things that don't work is because our phone's hardware and drivers are outdated. Team Nocurnal's Shooter is an excellent bet. My experience with it has been positive, and Gruesomewolf has optimize it well. It does have 4G, and it is absolutely feature-filled.
Sense 3.5: The most recent Sense version, it brings several graphical improvements and integration with Facebook (and Beats - I can't really count this because it doesn't work correctly.) Mostly all of them are Sensation XL-based. NONE have 4G, because there is not a Sense 3.5 phone for Sprint yet. Along with the issues with Sense 3.0, these are fairly new, so not everything works. Issues are usually USB and graphics. My favorite is Radiance, it has yet to fail me and the Team Blaze devs are excellent with replying back. Second choice is Warm 2.3. Long-time Warm lover, and it runs quite smoothly.
Check out the threads, look at screenshots, find what you like and download it! Also, check to see if a new update is coming out soon, because you don't want to flash a ROM and an update is out within the hour....
Also, check out some themes. You can find them here for the most part. MAKE SURE IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR ROM.
When the download of whatever ROM you choose is finished, boot into recovery. Mount as MS again. Transfer to your phone.
Transfer done? Unmount and navigate to the Wipe menu.
Wipe everything except for SD card. Twice. Believe me. Do it every time you flash a ROM.
Navigate to "Flash zip from sdcard" and find whichever ROM you got. Select with power button.
Once it finishes, "Reboot system now" and your phone will boot up!
Let your phone sit for two to five minutes. Skip first set-up, let sit on homescreen for a two to five minutes. Reboot into recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvik twice.
Flash the theme (if you have one).
Once it finishes, "Reboot system now" and your phone will boot up!
Now adjust all of your settings and setup your phone.
Kernels! Don't know what a kernel is? The kernel is the main component of most computer operating systems; it is a bridge between applications and the actual data processing done at the hardware level. The kernel's responsibilities include managing the system's resources (the communication between hardware and software components).

Most Sense ROMs come with the stock HTC kernel. What's the advantage of running a custom kernel? Well, underclock/overclock, HAVS, Undervolting, SBC, different governors and cool stuff like that.
Let me explain a few things:
Underclocking/Overclocking - Overclocking is the process of operating the process at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer. Underclocking is running the processor at a lower clock rate than it was specified to operate at. It may be said to be the computer equivalent of driving a car below the speed limit. Usually, underclocking is used to reduce a computer's power consumption and heat emission, sometimes also to increase the system's stability and compatibility.
HAVS - Hybrid Adaptive Voltage Scaling. HAVS dynamically scales the voltage supplied to the CPU at any given speed, erring on the side of lowest power draw, in an effort to enhance power saving. This was causing issues in Gingerbread kernels so it was taken out and replaced with static undervolting.
Undervolting - Dynamic voltage scaling to increase voltage is known as overvolting; dynamic voltage scaling to decrease voltage is known as undervolting. Undervolting = good for battery.
SBC - Super Battery Charging. This is "trickle charging" and it only affects your phone while it is charging. It prevents the 10% drop that most users get when pulling the phone off the charger. It slowly continues to pump energy into your phone while it is charging so it does not lose its charge. No Gingerbread kernel has this thus far.
Governors: I borrowed basically all of this from the SetCPU website, so thanks to them!
Governors control exactly how the CPU scales between your “max” and “min” set frequencies.
ondemand – Available in most kernels, and the default governor in most kernels. When the CPU load reaches a certain point, ondemand will rapidly scale the CPU up to meet demand, then gradually scale the CPU down when it isn't needed.
interactive – Available in newer kernels, and becoming the default scaling option in some official Android kernels. The interactive governor is functionally similar to the ondemand governor with an even greater focus on responsiveness.
conservative – Available in some kernels. It is similar to the ondemand governor, but will scale the CPU up more gradually to better fit demand. Conservative provides a less responsive experience than ondemand, but can save battery.
performance – Available in most kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the “max” set value at all times. This is a bit more efficient than simply setting “max” and “min” to the same value and using ondemand because the system will not waste resources scanning for CPU load.
powersave – Available in some kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the “min” set value at all times.
userspace – A method for controlling the CPU speed. Don't use it. It is pointless.
smartass – Included in some custom kernels. The smartass governor effectively gives the phone an automatic Screen Off profile, keeping speeds at a minimum when the phone is idle.
smartass v2 - a re-written smartass. Code is cleaned up, it scales more effectively and prefers lower frequencies.
InteractiveX - The interactive governor with suspend/wake logic so when the phone screen is off it runs at minimum set frequency. Also, modified code to minimize unnecessary cpu spikes
There are 5 custom Gingerbread Sense kernels that I know of:
Anthrax: my new favorite. A new kernel based on Qualcomm and Monster Audio (Beats) sources, it is amazingly smooth. Chad makes a highly-rated kernel for the Evo 3D, and I'm sure he can bring amazing things to the Evo. The thread is here, but it is shut down. Chad got a C&D and had to retract all of his work. If you seek this kernel, send me a PM. I myself am not distributing it, but I'll be sure that you get it.
ChopSuey is now my second choice. Compiled by barnacles10, the goal is "to be stable while implementing new features." It is ridiculously stable and I get very good battery life. Thread here
Freedom is my third favorite. Compiled by Lithid, it comes in various versions and degrees of undervolting. I always run Aggressive Freedom, the most undervolted. Thread here.
Golden Monkey. Compiled by netarchy, it hasn't been updated in a while, because netarchy has moved on to different phones. He always puts out quality work, so thread here.
PoonSense. Mostly stock with the usual tweaks of overclocking and governors. If someone could provide a link, that would be great.
Note: Latest ChopSuey, Freedom, and PoonSense have HDMIwIn if you are into that kind of thing (fullHDMI mirroring).
Let's assume you already have a ROM on your phone. How to flash:
Download the kernel you want, then transfer it to your phone in disk drive like we talked about earlier.
Boot into recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvik in Wipe menu. Twice.
Navigate to "Mounts" menu. Mount everything except for SDext.
Navigate to Flash zips from sdcard and find the kernel zip. Select with power button.
Reboot and enjoy!
You can also flash a kernel while you are flashing a ROM. Steps to do so:
Download whatever ROM and kernel you choose
Boot into recovery.
Plug up your phone to the computer, and mount as MS.
Once the ROM has been flashed, reboot to system.
Let your phone sit for two to five minutes. Skip first set-up, let sit on homescreen for a two to five minutes. Reboot into recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvik twice.
Navigate to "Mounts" menu. Mount everything except for SDext.
Navigate to Flash zips from sdcard and find the kernel zip. Select with power button.
Reboot and enjoy!
Once you have your custom kernel, all you need to do is to choose the governor and min/max CPU frequency speeds.
My favorite governor is Smartass v2. If the kernel does not have smartass v2, then I use Interactive X.
My minimum and maximum speeds are 245/768 mHZ.
How do you set all of this stuff? Well...
Download No-Frills CPU Control (free) or SetCPU ($1.99) from the Market.
Open the application.
Drag the sliders to set your speeds!
Click the dropdown and select your governor!
Click "Set on Boot" and exit app.
Reboot phone!
Let's get something straight. Do not use "Profiles" in SetCPU or No-Frills. This makes the application run in the background and drains battery. Interactive X and smartass and smartass v2 already have built-in screen-off profiles. So do not make profiles, okay?
FAQ and helpful stuff
[Q] What order should I flash things in?
[A] Well, wipe everything except for SD card, twice. I flash the ROM first, then the theme, then the kernel (mounting everything properly), then any tweaks I may have. Works for me.
[Q] Which is the best ROM? What ROM would work best for me?
[A] What is the best flavor of ice cream? What works for me might not work for you. You may love a theme; I might not like it (I personally do not like all of the blue in themes). You have to experiment and try out different ROM types!
[Q] OMG MY PHONE KEEPS BOOTLOOPING! I CAN GET INTO BOOTLOADER BUT NOT RECOVERY!!! I THINK I BRICKED MY PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[A] No, your phone is not bricked. When a phone is "bricked" it does not turn on and is a nice expensive paperweight. If you can get into bootloader/HBOOT, you can be saved. There is something called an RUU. It is a package provided by HTC to completely wipe your phone and rewrite the software image.
Steps to run the RUU:
Download it from here. This is the most recent one.
Get into HBOOT.
Plug your phone into the computer and select "Fastboot" with power button.
Go to your downloads folder and double-click the RUU.
The directions that pop up are pretty self-explanatory.
[Q] My phone has a notification that there is an OTA update available. Maybe it's ICS! :O
[A] Do not accept OTAs. It is a general rule of thumb. You will lose root and there is a slight possibility you may brick your phone. Somebody will probably have it rooted and ready to flash within a day.
[Q]Will Vipermod or Incredicontrol work with Sense? It would be cool to adjust the level of undervolt!
[A]Nope, it won't work. None of the current GB Sense kernels have HAVS because it was simply problematic. It was implemented, and it didn't work very well so it was taken out. If you want to undervolt, then download one of Lithid's Freedom kernels that come in undervolted flavors.
[Q] Whenever I try to boot into recovery all I see is this....
[A] You do not have a custom recovery installed. See post one on how to flash a custom recovery (Amon Ra)!
[Q] My battery life has been dropping ridiculously. How can I calibrate my battery and get some more life?
[A] I follow a little guide that Hipkat wrote up here. I shall quote some for you....
HipKat said:
Charge your phone until full.
Unplug it, turn it off, then plug it in for one hour.
Turn it on for two minutes, so it fully boots.
Turn it off, unplug it, when the light goes off, plug it back in for one hour.
That part of this is actually from HTC, on how they found the best results for charging.
Now, before you plug it in, unplug, wait for the light to go off, plug it back in.
When the light turns green, unplug it again. Repeat that step 10 times.
(It may not take 10, it may take more, but 10 is good)
While plugged in, boot to recovery, wipe your battery stats.
Then reboot to system. Once it has booted to home screen, wait two minutes then unplug your phone.

I do this every time I flash a new ROM and kernel. Other things to help battery life are underclocking, turning auto-sync off, having GPS/WiFi/unused radios off. Do NOT use task killers. Ever since Froyo, Android has had a built-in one. Task killers just interfere with that.
Battery/Performance Tips and Thanks
Battery tips:
Sense is heavy, I know. But you can help stop the drain with a few things (I don't use any apps like Juice Defender).
Calibrate the battery.
Use Wi-Fi as much as possible. Just shut it off when you are done.
Shut off "Always-On Mobile Data" in Settings - Wireless - Mobile Networks.
Turn off "Quiet ring on pickup," "Pocket mode," "Flip for speaker," "Audible selections" and "Vibrate feedback" in Settings - Sounds.
Turn down the brightness and Screen timeout in Settings - Display. Also, turn off all animations.
Shut off GPS when not using it.
Unselect "Back up my settings" in Settings - Privacy.
Enable power saver in Settings - Power and Battery Efficiency in Quick Settings of notificaiton bar.
Turn off Auto-sync in Settings - Accounts and Sync.
Underclock.
Don't use task killers.
Theory: I use Chainfire3D and have their EGL drivers installed. Battery life has been better with them. Can't prove it, so I say theory.
How to improve performance:
Use C-O-D Tweaks. They did a plenty good job of explaining, so I won't explain. Takes away any reason for me to use a RAM script. Follow instructions to a 't' and you will be good.
Chainfire3D drivers work quite well for me, I can see the difference.
Don't underclock
.
I modify ROMs to fit my needs, usually by stripping out what I don't need. Here's what I do:
Download and install 7-Zip.
Download the ROM
Unzip the ROM using 7-Zip to a folder, usually named after the ROM. Example: unzip MikG to a folder called "MikG"
Delete whatever I don't need out of the folders, usually apps and pictures and ringtones.
After deleting to my heart's content, I right-click on everything and select "Add to xxxxx.zip". Example: "Add to MikG.zip"
7-Zip compresses and zips everything up, so transfer the custom zip you made to your SD card and flash (I don't sign my zips, I don't know why).
If something doesn't work, you deleted something you shouldn't have

No worries. I'm not a sense user, but still good info for those that do, and kernels are big part of the game. Do it when you get the chance.
Bumping this guide... I think I did a fairly good job

You don't need to, but if you get any ROM bigger than that I would! Or you could just go ahead and partition it, save some time in the future

I wanna delete all the stuff and start like new when the new ROM's update I'm using comes out. How can I get rid of scripts? Or formating the SD card will solve all of my problems?

[Scripts] The Legit Zip (Feb 8, 2012) & Nifty Coniptions Tweaks v1.01

Updated tweaks are at bottom of this post
Here is a flashable zip of 3 scripts that when put together speed up your phone and make it faster.
The niftyconiptionstweaks was meant only for the HTC Evo 4g but if your phone supports "init.d" then try it out if you want to and please report back. It may not even flash in recovery because the phones are different but its worth a shot. If it works, please post saying it does and what kind of phone you have. The Legit Zip should work for any phone.
To determine if your phone supports "init.d", download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, go to "system", then "etc". If you come across a folder named "init.d" then your phone may support it.
I did not write these scripts, I just edited them to work like Car-O-Dopes tweaks. It basically has the same values as Car-o-Dopes tweaks. It is best to use this on a Sense rom. I used the S97ramscript, KickAssKernel, and 02sictweaks but I changed the values of each script to match what Car-o-Dopes tweaks do, and I wanted to share this with you all because it makes installing these tweaks easier and faster. Thanks to zeppelinrox for the kickasskernelizer, Juwe11 for the S97ramscript, Smokinl1337 for the 02sicktweaks, coffehandle for giving me the idea when he made his own tweaks, and Car-o-Dope for coming up with the ultimate combination of out-of-memory settings and sysctl tweaks that make your phone smooth as butter.
I use this on my HTC Evo 4g running Shooter E3D, with AnthraX kernel and it works like a charm.
I am in no way responsible if your device messes up or anything unwanted happens to it. Use at your own risk.

Instructions: Follow Exactly
1) Make a nandroid backup incase something goes wrong or you want to revert.
2) Download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (I use Root explorer).
3) Open up root explorer and go to "system", then "etc", then "init.d". Click on the "Mount R/W" button so it turns to "Mount R/O" (that way you can delete files).
4) Delete any or move to a folder on your sdcard (incase you want to revert) any ram scripts or ram tweaks you may have that is in the "init.d" folder (examples of ram scripts or tweaks are 01sysctl, 06sysctl, 02sicktweaks, S97ramscript, 99supercharge, and 98Kickasskernel).
5) Also if you are running v6 supercharger, you need to un-supercharge. If you are running Kickass Kernelizer, you need to un-kernelize and do not run those scripts while you have the niftyconiptionsscripts installed.
6) Uninstall any ram manager apps or task killers and do not use these.
7) After you uninstall all of that, reboot your phone and verify that none of the scripts you had before are still installed. (it will mess with the scripts you are about to install).
8) Boot into recovery (preferably Amon Ra).
9) Once in recovery, you need to mount /system, then mount /data.
10) Find the niftyconiptionstweaks.zip you downloaded and flash it.
11) After you flash the zip, go back and unmount /system. Don't mess with the /data because after you flashed the zip, it automatically unmounted the /data for you.
12) Reboot phone and enjoy. Let your phone set at the lock screen for about 2 minutes, unlock and let it set for another 2 minutes to let it settle in. Your phone will become dramatically smoother after about an hour.
UPDATE:
Nifty Coniptions Tweaks
Updated niftyconitpionstweaks. Install just as you would before and follow directions as posted above. I got rid of some unnecessary settings in the scripts. Also your sdcard read ahead speed will change to 512kb which is the optimal value for the evo.

Here is The Legit Zip I just put together. This has the same settings as the V6 Supercharger on option 8 and the Kickasskernalizer. I did not change any values to these so its the same as installing those two scipts manually. Again, I did not write these scripts, I just put them into a tweak bundle to make it easier to install. Thanks to zepplinrox for making the V6 supercharger and the Kickasskernalizer. To install this, follow the same instructions in the first post.
To see if the settings stuck, download Rom Toolbox Pro and go to the performance tab, Kernel tweaks or Sysctl Tweaks (depending on what version of the application you have) and see if it reads as Min Free KBytes - 4096, Dirty Ratio - 95, Dirty Background Ratio - 60, VFS Cache Pressure - 10. Then go to the Auto Memory Manager and see if it reads as 6,12,150,165,180,200.
If you would like me to add another version of the V6 Supercharger just let me know.
Have fun and hit that thanks button if you like it.

Like I said in the OP. Idk if it will work or not for any other phone besides the evo, that's why I have it in this section to find out what phones it will work for. If it does, please report back, The Legit Zip should work with no problems though.

[How To] (video) Supercharge Ice Cream Sandwich!!!

EDIT: This doesn't work on ODEX ROMs! That would be stock ROMs, as most custom ROMs are deodexed. If it is an odex ROM, you can do the mod, but you have to do it manually (the web app doesn't work). Check out the second post in the supercharger thread for a how-to. But if you are on a custom ROM the method in the video will work!
Alright, so I have been reading about how to supercharge ICS for awhile, but the process looked daunting. However I figured it out, and it works great! This will work on ANY ROM, so try it out!
I have been using this for awhile, and it's just super smooth. I've been using it a lot lately, and it hasn't given me a bit of lag yet! It's just gone!
What is V6?
V6 supercharger is a script that manages the RAM memory. This makes multi-tasking much faster, and it knows when to kill off apps that are taking a lot of RAM. This makes your phone a lot faster and more efficient!
Here is the person who made the script: V6 Supercharger
Here is a dl link to the script: DOWNLOAD LINK
I'm in! So... How Do I Do this?
Well I made a video for you:
Here are instructions:
1. Download the supercharger script from the link above and put it on the root of your SD card.
2. Get an app called script manager from the market. It's free. Open it up and click on the supercharge script from the list of what's on your SD card. Click the SU button, then hit run.
3. Go through the setup. Set scrolling speed to 1. When they ask if you want to integrate it into the system, say yes. You will get to a list of about 30 options after a little bit.
4. Select number 6 (I know I said 7 in the video, but 6 has better multitasking) for this phone, and hit enter. It will go through a whole bunch of stuff.
5. It will ask you to superclean and restart. SAY NO. You'll do that inn a minute. Just hit the home button.
6. Open the browser on your phone and go to : android.mimic.ca and hit the upload button. There will be a popup, select root explorer (Install it if you don't have it already). Go into system/framework/ and select the services.jar file. It will take you back to the website. Hit upload. The page will reload. Now select the CMW flashable zip option and download it. Go to root explorer and move that to the root of your SD card.
7. Reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvic, then flash the zip. Reboot. Done! Enjoy the speedieness!

Let me know what ya think!
Alright, so enough questions have been asked that I should start giving answers to them here.
Q. Do I need to re-flash the file in recovery if I want to make changes?
A. Not if you make changes to the the supercharger script (ie. change options). The only time you have to flash it is if you upgrade/change ROMs. Just remember to make a new one, and don't flash the old file!
Q. Isn't option "X" better/faster/easier on battery?
A. Play around with them and see what works for you. I like option 6. Not too aggressive, but it still keeps control. Just use the options that are for your phone (ie 512HP for this phone because it has that much RAM. So option 5, 6, or 7). I also use the nitro-lagnullifier. It makes things even faster!
Q. Does it affect battery life?
A. Yes, in a good way! I get better battery life.
Q. How do I know if it worked??
A. Open up script manager, and go to the supercharger file. let it run, and once you get to the menu with all the options, it will tell you if you are supercharged or not right below that.
Those were the most commonly asked questions. If they don't answer your questions then post 'em!
battery life
so this looks promising but how does it the effect on battery life with ICS.
works great... noticeable difference

This shouldn't hurt the battery. I used to use it on my Epic fairly often especially once the Gingerbread leaks started coming out. There are several different routes to go with the script too. It can also be used to improve multitasking such as when you have multiple apps open at once.

thanks for the quick tut. I was gonna try using it on aokp as well, then i saw ics you had to do something extra and i just stopped looking into it lol - It's much easier than i expected.
Btw rocket, you should try the touch cwm recovery personally I think it's easier to navigate and use

I looked into it awhile ago, and it was even more complicated. The web app made it really easy.
I'll try the touch recovery out. I'll flash it through fastboot in a bit. I'm just used to this one from my EVO.

Sorry I don't. I just use custom ROMs!
just installed along with the KAK
haven't had it for long, but first impression's that there's quite a lot more ram available on boot, and pretty smooth
thanks for your instructions! they were helpful
Thanks for the writeup and video. I tried this on my Evo a while back, but the thread was huge and difficult to navigate.
Just ran the script, so we'll see how it goes.

Thank you so much man. The original thread is a mess but you made it easy!
phone went into infinite boot loop.. =[
had stock ics w/ root. tried to do the ics mod. I think odex file but when i tried running the one click script, i think something went wrong when i rebooted
can someone please explain to me why in the instructions it says for me to upload my services.jar file to this guy's website???? That just seems very fishy!!
Why can't we patch the file locally??? Why does your server have to do it for me when an app could easily be written to do it without me uploading my services.jar to some random website I don't trust!

You can patch it manually. Check out the link in the OP. However, it requires unziping the file, opening it in notepad++, editing the code, zipping it back up, putting it back in the phone, and editing some stuff with terminal emulator. It's a bit over most people's heads, and the website makes it easy by making the patched services.jar a flashable zip.
If you want to do it, be my guest. It's all in the second post of the supercharger thread.

I have only used it on custom ROMs. The web app doesn't work for odex ROMs (stock), but it will work on custom ROMs. Try one of them out, it should work then. just titanium backup, flash new ROM, and restore backup. Won't loose your apps!
I can confirm this is working on the cyberg rom...my min ram is 144mb now under performance setting...my phones seems snappier now!

Sweet! I have 125 MB min free. What setting did you use on the supercharger?

V6 supercharger for rooted vibrant!!!

First and foremost, thanks to Zeppelinrox for his awesome scripts that make turn an average phones in a ridicously fast devices. Now, what this script do and why you want to install in your Vibrant? This is what Zeppelinrox (the creator) says about it:
"Know that the script explains what it does before it does anything!
It holds your hand along the way and it will answer nearly all your questions as it moves along!","It works on ALL Android devices - Custom Roms or Stock Roms, Phones or Tablets, it doesn't matter!"
Also Note: Nothing else does what The V6 SuperCharger does!
................Not AutoKiller Memory Optimizer, Not Auto Memory Manager, Not Minfree Manager...
................And NOTHING BEATS IT. PERIOD.
So... if somebody says to you that V6 SuperCharger does the same thing as [pick any app], tell them to first read about what they're talking about so that they can actually have an informed opinion.
WHAT IT DO?
It makes your phone FAST... super snappy with better multitasking!
It rearranges and fixes the OOM Groupings and Priorites and lowmemorykiller values.
So basically, it's a COMPLETE MEMORY MANAGEMENT FIX!
It's the ONLY one of it's kind
NO LAUNCHER REDRAWS, faster than ever, multitasking is better... why?
Because it works with the lowmemorykiller and letting it work the way it's meant to work.
Also, because of the rearrangement, it works the same on all roms!
The problem with using minfree tweakers like AMM or Auto Killer Memory Optimizer is that it doesn't work the same on all roms.
Secondary apps may be in slot 3 on some roms but in slot 5 in others!
That's why you hear people comment "I tried AKMO but it didn't do anything..."
Most likely it didn't do anything because the apps weren't sitting where they were expected to be.
WHAT PEOPLE SAYS AFTER RUNNING THE SCRIPT SUCCESFULLY?
"Feels like I have a new phone!"
"V6 is one the best things to come to android."
"Supercharger rocks bro, I'm actually mad I waited so long to do it..."
"I wish I hadn't upgraded yet"
"Now I can wait to upgrade",
"I was about to throw this phone through the wall",
"I was about to return it but now I don't have to",
"This cured my phone of cancer!"
"Oh man... just applied the V6 Supercharger Script by ZeppelinRox on my Android.. I think it fixed everything..",
"I can't live without this!",
"My phone is better than new!",
"my phones has turned god mode on or something",
"I never notice this at all, until I flash a new rom and realize its not there anymore lol."
NOW, WHAT STUFF YOU NEED TO RUN THIS?
A) If you are on an ECCLAIR, FROYO or GINGERBREAD Vibrant you will need:
1) Script Manager APP (FREE on Playstore) and SM Widget APP (also FREE)
2) Starter kit (you MUST RUN this BEFORE run the v6 supercharger script) download here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1241890&d=1344115573
3) 3GTurboCharger_Installer_Update_3_RC11_Test_1.sh.pdf download here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1177767&d=1341456692
4) KickAssKernelizer_Tweaks_Installer_Update_3_RC11_Test_1.sh.pdf download here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1177768&d=1341456692
5) V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC11_Test_6.sh.pdf download here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1301041&d=1346732906
B) If you are on ICS and JELLYBEAN Vibrant ALSO you will need:
6) The services.jar patcher ONLY FOR WINDOWS (to make sure v6 script works @ 100%) PLEASE, PLEASE, READ this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869663 and DOWNLOAD the .zip file founded HERE:http://goo.gl/OfOOE
OK, I DOWNLOAD ALL STUFF NOW WHAT I DO?
A) ASSUMING THAT YOU ARE ON ECCLAIR, FROYO AND GINGERBREAD:
1) RUN Script manager app and tick the box it says "browse as root" and look the script you already downloaded on your phone. Like the DEV says, Run v6 supercharger script and just follow the directions provided while the script is running. KEEP reading what the script is doing in your device. The script will prompt you to touch the screen to use the KEYBOARD to select a series of options that will fix how the RAM will work after succesfully supercharge your device. EACH OPTION have a NUMBER.Use your keyboard to choose the option according to the number it represents. If you follow the easy instructions, soon it will tell that your phone is fully 100% SUPERCHARGED! ALSO, the fun beggins when you use option #16 (bulletproof apps) because you can leave open (bulletproofed) apps like PHONE, SMS, MEDIA, GAPPS, LAUNCHER and so on which result in SUPER FAST opening and more BATTERY since it will use LESS CPU to open those apps that otherwise ANDROID close by it's own.
2) RUN 3g turbocharger and like i said before, READ what script is doing and CHOOSE the options provided. This script help to have better download/ upload speeds on internet and wi-fi (how it works? i'm not DEV, READ ZEPPELINROX'S THREAD and read info regarding on how this works) BUT HEY! I use speedtest app and before and after running this script, i see a bit better speeds (results may vary, so try for yourself!)
3) RUN The kickass kernelizer script and tick "k" when prompted and read what the script is doing, once finished, tick the option to reboot your device and when it turns up, CHECK (RUN) v6 script to make sure is working at 100% (it will say it)
4) OPTIONAL: To make things even easier you can make WIDGETS of your scripts (v6 scharger, 3g turbocharger, resupercharger, and so on) to your homescreen!!! So look for widgets, tick SM WIDGETS, tick CHOOSE widget and BROWSE youR already made scripts that v6 supercharger made for you!!! THAT EASY!!!
B) NOW ASSUMING YOU ARE RUNNING WITH ICS OR JELLYBEAN DEVICE:
BEFORE TAKE THE 4 STEPS ABOVE, YOU NEED:
1) SERVICES.JAR PATCHER FOR WINDOWS .ZIP FILE ON YOUR PC ( I hope you already read the thread wich explains how it works)
2) EXTRACT THE SERVICES.JAR FOR WINDOWS AND LEAVE THE EXTRACTED WINDOW OPENED.
3) ONCE OPEN, TURN ON YOUR ANDROID DEBUGGING ON YOUR PHONE (Do NOT use as MASS STORAGE).
4) CONNECT YOUR PHONE TO PC.
5) RUN THE JellyScreamPatcher.exe and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. WHEN IT ASK IF YOU WANT TO SUPERCHARGE YOUR LAUNCHER, press Y OR THE KEY IMPPLIED TO DO SO.
6) WAIT till says is FINISHED. ONCE THEY SAY IT, THEN, ONLY THEN YOU CAN UNPLUGG YOU PHONE AND RUN THE STEPS ABOVE (A)
OK, YOU KNOW THE DISCLAIMER: YOU AND ONLY YOU MAKE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOUR PHONE EXPLODE IN MILLION PIECES AND / OR MAKE A NUCLEAR EXPLOTION, IT'S NOT MY FAULT - IS YOURS. BUT AFTER READING A LOT OF THIS STUFF, I DID THE VERY BEST TO YOU TO UNDERSTAND IT. REMEMBER, I'M NOT A DEV NOR THE CREATOR OF THIS AWESOME SCRIPT, SO IF YOU FIND THIS HELPFULL AND SUCCESFULLY YOU TURN YOUR VIBRANT IN A ELECTRONIC ROCKET, HIT THANKS BUTTON ON ZEPPELINROX THREAD, AND HERE FOR TRY THIS INSTRUCTIONS TO BE AS EASY AS POSSIBLE!
BEST REGARDS, SNC74
