Here is a link to the ics update for the motorola xoom.
I have no idea if this is of any use to our developers but just thought it might in some way speed up the development of a fully working a500 ics custom rom.
http://android.clients.google.com/p...igned-tervigon-IML77-from-HTK75D.71a21bfe.zip
there are already roms (or at least a rom) working fully except for the camera. Unless it has acer camera files, i doubt the xoom code will help much.

Am I the only one who would just love to see a community based repo for ICS on the Iconia, all GPL compliant?
I know it's not on Xda but just wanted to thank u guys for mentioning the ICS rom for the a500. It is by far the smoothest/fastest rom I've flashed on my a500. I'm just blown away at how great it runs. I could care less about the few things that need fixed. I'm now loving my Iconia. Thanks again.

No, he's got a ICS rom (Android 4.0). I'm running it right now and it's amazing. The best rom I've ever ran on my Iconia.
Yes he does have it I had 40 running for a bit but SPB shell doesn't run along with a handful of other apps I have bought ill wait till app developers get the kinks out..
He's been working on it since October I think so its pretty good Cam and vpn don't work as of now we need Acer to release alot to get everything the way it should be...

And you owe me personally, about well, a lot of beers. And not just any beer mind you, but I like really expensive beer
In fact, if one would calculate 12 beers per day @.5L per beer since the time he got HW Accel working, No green screens, and 85% of all functions working, you owe me about 457 beers, give or take. But I'm not greedy. I'll settle for an even 400 x.5L.
The Pure ICS rom 4.x, runs damn good. Only 3 or 4 things left. Most people are using it as a daily driver.
But now, "Iced" cube, if you don't come through with your wager, on open terms as you set, Well... that would be considered "welching" on a bet.
Welp, there goes my weekly wage...
I did say "a beer", not "a few beers"
'tis all good, i'll drop some money in the tin.
That aside.... Time to flash the ROM, then!

I'm using it while I type this, it's the best my Iconia has ever been, I can live with no camera for now.....
I don't get this...
When I attempt to flash this ROM (the one in the first post) to my Iconia, I get the following error:
assert failed: file_grep_prop("/system/build.prop","ro.build.fingerprint") == "motorola/tervigon/wingray:3.2.1/HTK75D/190830:user/release_keys [...]"
Is there a work around?

Youre flashing a xoom rom? That might be the problem. There is an ics build mostly functional for our device a few pages in to the dev forum (where we are) or you can google thor and try his which afaik is just lacking camera and rotation lock.
Which ICS rom is everyone running?
What is the newest P7510 rom if I want to go back (and not have to reroot) and what are the best 1 or 2 custom roms?
Too many in development section to know what I am looking at.
Links would be helpful.
Thanks
Also when is the official ics coming out.

You're going to get an answer that says every custom ROM is the best. because it its all opinion, personal preference, and device specific.
Task14 is the best IMHO. I'm using a USA wifi only GT-P7510
As far as newest, I don't remember.
Official ICS? Some may have estimated guesses, but there isn't an officially confirmed date I've seen.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.
If you want stable and fast then Task 14 is the best..
CleanROM, Overcome and BinDroid are also nice..
If you want bleeding edge with bugs then try AOKP..
Thanks. I'll try it. Is there a way to back up the current rom I have to restore it if I want and can't find the official one?
Yup.. While in CWM select backup and let it complete before wipe and new rom install

Thanks. I did stumble upon this page. It doesn't say anything about HDMI mirroring.
Anyways, ill just try and will then update the thread.
it works but ..
HDMI mirroring works. I would rather say it doesn't work. When I checked the forum, I see that the screen flickers every few seconds. Mine flickers a few times every second. It's a software bug which can be solved by flashing Pershoot kernel in recovery mode.

Will try it tomorrow.

ok thanks. i do have pershoot, but i dont use hdmi mirroring. i dont see the need for it. i am usually watching tv or shows on the dvr with my tablet in my hand.
what do u use it for?
recording
This is my office tablet and we need it for HD recording.
My boss bought a Asus EEE Pad Transformer TF101 (not Prime) tablet which does HDMI mirroring out of the box. So, I am not be dealing with kernel flashing for now. Hopefully, in the future.

I have MIUI on my phone, and have been looking into (attempting) android dev for my HTC Hero (since it has a bootloader and a bit harder to brick as I cant use nvflash on my transformer). Does anybody know if there is any progress on getting MIUIv4 to our devices at all? At least, before I go attempting to do something that may cost me money that I don't have.
I saw a thread in this forum that says how to port MIUI to any device. You just have to use a CM9 as a base and changing some files.
I donĀ“t know if it is going to run, even if MIUI will look fine in a tablet.
I'm sure it can be ported, but I don't believe that MIUIv4 has a tablet interface.

I believe you are correct. It has been modded to work on the nook color, though it's a bit hacky and I believe it was limited to portrait. Tried it on my NC and it didn't seem ready for my needs yet. YMMV though.
Hey guys,
just browsed around here and tought i should give cleanrom for tf700 a try (since i loved the version for tf300)
So the rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919851
just format everything (i used twrp), install this rom and before u reboot use this kernel for tf300TG :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892326 Use the one named: TF300T(G)(L).zip
reboot and u have tf700rom on a tf300tg with full 3g functionality, and to me this rom is amazingly fast!
Heard from at least 2 other ppl on the forums that they had success flashing cleanrom from tf700 with the 300t too. Unfortunately, they didn't give too much detail. I think they just flash it over without any modifications, just like you did for the 300tg. Maybe someone could confirm?
can confirm. Works fine. I used the 300t kernel.
Just did it myself too, check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773876 (300t's CleanRom thread) starting on post ##835.

Just an FYI...
I plan on making a consolidated ROM for the 201, 300 and 700.
But yes, the 700 ROM works on the 201, and the 300.
I was told that you need to use a device specific kernel however.
the interesting question is how can a rom made for a device which has no 3g options offer 3g support just switching kernel while those made for tf300t require some pretty heavy customizations or you lose 3g...
I installed the TF700 CleanRom on my TF300T this afternoon and it's amazingly fast and responsive now.
I installed the TF300T version first, booted into TWRP and done a factory reset, then wipe everything, installed tf700 version and flashed kernel from here:

I'm writing from work, on my pc thetered to my tf300tg over umts - everything works perfectly, at first the tablet wouldnt sign in on my network provider and stick in roaming but I selected it manually from network options then reselected the auto choser and everything worked.
Scott, if you are woring on an Unified asus transformer rom keep everything like its on your tf700 one (or wathever magic is that make it work on 3g networks ^^ ) and add the option for tf300tg kernel, you'll be the first to release a fully working tf300tg rom! (not dissing seanzscreams efforts but his tf300tg roms werent fully working)
btw anybody with TL version dare to try?

I'm kind of amazed they pointed to XDA (or that their customer support was even aware of it). I guess I have to give them some respect for acknowledging that if nothing else. But I wish they would stop with the messing around and just say "never" if they are not going to do it. As long as they keep up with the "at this time" stuff it just holds back all of those of us who are reluctant to move from stock from getting on with it.
Don't tell me you guys actually think this is real, and ASUS is sending people to XDA to download JB ROMS. lol

I've tried most of them and EOS4 is the only one that's stable enough for me to use, and it works very well. With others (including rayman's) I have random reboots, freezes, lag, etc. I suspect performance/stability issues might have something to do with the exact model you own.

I just think EOS is kept more up to date than Rayman's. Rayman publishes several ROM and sometimes he will left some of them without further update. Besides almost every Rayman ROM I have tried suffers from Wifi weak signal.
Anyway all of this is just based on my TF and personal feeling. You should try and pick the best one for you / your HW.
I also prefer EOS3 to EOS4. JB 4.2.1 (not EOS4, any JB 4.2.1 implementation) has some app incompatibility (not available on Play Store) that I don't like. And I find JB 4.1 snappier than 4.2.1. I have to oc my TF on 4.2.1 to get the same performance I get in 4.1 with stock clock speeds.

Not really the same thing now, is it?? It's not their device that could get bricked.
I'm not surprised that ASUS sent them here. I had a friend call ASUS the other day about a TF101. We were trying to find the SN (which is impossible to do if the tablet doesn't boot and sticker is gone). The first tech said open the unit and here's how to do it (they sent a video). The next tech an hour later said we can't help you, you voided the warranty by opening it. It took a few persistent phone calls but the unit is being replaced under warranty. Over all, their tech support is pretty in touch. Just my experience.
I'm gonna try to port the tf300t stock ROM to the tf101 when i have time ..
