In France, 369 for the Optimus 2X unlocked at Bouygues, and 70€ paid back by LG.
That makes an Optimus 2X for 320€. Quite interesting if you're in the market for a new smartphone.

The sales person probably doesn't even know what a tegra2 is
Prices in Switzerland (Both 8GB):
Samsung Galaxy S I9000: 439 CHF
LG P990 Optimus 2X Speed: 556 CHF
SamsungGalaxy S II I9100: 679 CHF (16GB though)
Most probably because Samsung as a smartphone manufacturer and Galaxy S as a phone have better brand recognition than LG over there. LG is a new comer to high end smartphone arena.
Romania: SGS 400 euro
LG 490 euro
Not much of a difference....
Romania. Vodafone on contract. Sgs 219 lg 2x 239. Prices are in euros, incl vat.

Screen, screen, screen... SAMOLED is expensive stuff (and worth every penny) plus the difference in performance isn't overwhelming in any way. Do a smartbench 2011 (multicore friendly) test on your galaxy s and compare the gaming score with lg2x. The thing that bugs me is all game developers are kissing nvidia and apple ass like it tasted lemon sorbet. I guess money taste just as good...

Dude, u should really look for a new phone dealer. In Germany the SGS is at around 330 Euro (price dropping!) and the LG Optimus 2x (called Optimus Speed here) is at 440 Euro.

Btw, most of the time the reason that older mobiles are more expensive is just that the seller didn't updated the price. Often cheap old phones are just the remaining stock that the seller trys to get rid at.
All dealers offer practically same price. Prices are 20€ different in other dealers. We have 3 carriers: vip(vodafone), t-mobile and tele2

In Finland 2x 549€ and SGS 445€ both unlocked.
Vodafone
Optus
Free genuine leather and $50 off your 3rd bill on Vodafone, Nothing on Optus. I ordered mine on the $65 unlimited Cap on Voda which includes 2GB Data. I think it's a great deal. GOGOGO!!!11one!!eleven!
Ewww vodafone is terrible but not a bad price

I'm 12 months into my 24-month contract ($49) with Optus for the original Galaxy S, so I sold mine and imported the GS II from Handtec. Good thing Optus sold the first GS as the unlocked, unbranded world version.
Definitely worth the upgrade.
I'm waiting for stock to come in, then ill be on vodafone 12 month contract, I font think ive owned the same phone for near 12 months so its nice and flexible one for me =)

I'm using an SGS2 from the UK on the Vodafone network in AU. I have to say that the 3G 850 MHz on this makes the network actually usable compared to 900/2100 MHz handsets like my N1. This phone is definitely worth it if you intend on staying on Vodafone for another 2 years!
Yeah, I have never had any problems with vodafone and I would rather pay monthly than upfront, so it's a good deal for me

Optus gives 2 months free charge.
The first 200 also got the official dock so I'm happy.
Hey everyone I have been monitoring the price of the Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 daily from late November 2011 and its amazing that this phone has climbed from basically $499.99 to now over $600 on ebay and $559 and $569.
I think the increase in price which is due to its overwhelming demand is a testament to how great the product is but sadly it really prevents me from going in on the experience because I cant afford it right now.
The price trends do leave me wondering how much further the price can go though.
Any thoughts?
Meh nothing compared to ehat happened to the Leo (my fave phone i ever had). Prices in the states are different and ebay isnt a good price guide, I see this for £600 when released now you can get it from carphone whorehouse for about £400 on pre pay

Ok I see your point im not in the US actually but I mostly buy electronics from the US. Can you point me to site or person that sells the i9100 for a good price outside the USA?
As I said id love to join the android party with a i9100 asap but the price is prohibitive for me. I have been using a N95 8gb for 4 years now so im in need of a change.
To be honest, I'm tired of S2, I wanna really something fresh like S3...

Hasn't the Thailand floods last year have something to do with this? One of the largest manufacturers of semiconductors used in mobile devices is located there (I think it's Hana Electronics). And I've seen the same trend in other electronic markets. I've been trying to purchase a Canon 60D slr and stores are having a hard time getting them.
The Thailand floods could have something to do with it but im seeing declines in other similar models.
The prices for most of android devices climbed up a bit after release of latest iphone, I see that that release was mostly disappointment for everyone, there's nothing in it that can beat sgs2 or some other android tops. That's why prices gone up. Android has more potential for future.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Maybe this is specific to different countries because on say eBay in Ireland and the UK ive noticed a slight drop in the price, nothing major but you can pick up a SGSII for €370 if you search and if you get lucky on fleabay you may even get it cheaper.

This is also true, despite the release of the Galaxy Nexus it still doesn't beat this phone, no micro SD card facility was a shocking emission, the Galaxy Note whilst a serious piece of kit is just far too big for most people for a phone, the size of this phone is perfect even slightly bigger but it the Galaxy S3 was as big as the Note i wouldn't buy it but i don't think it will be.
got it right on. There is not a single android phone that runs as smoothly as the sgs2-especially out of the box. I have been due for an upgrade for a while and just dont want to use it just yet. As far as the Nexus, had it for a day and promptly gave it back. I dont care what anyone says, its laggy as hell if you're coming from the exynos sgs2.
I bought my i9100 for 529.99 @ ebay unlocked tho
I use it without any problem, I'm from Ecuador.
In Ireland you can pick one up for under 350€.I got mine brand new for 340 and unlocked it myself , saved myself 300 euro by not going to a shop.

Bought mine for $3900 HKD a few months ago, dropped to $3800 or even more right now.
$3900 HKD = $502USD
$1USD = $7.8HKD
Good 'nuf because I sold my iPhone 4 for $3200HKD and added $700HKD for the SGS2.
I9100 model has very high demand which Samsung cannot meet, hence they are replacing it with slightly different I9100G model. Due to this the proce of I9100 has increased. Atleast thats the case here in India. You no longer spot I9100 here, only I9100G.
i bought mine for 400€ in an online shop from the netherlands in december, i also recently noticed the price rose to 440€ already in a month!

Yes thats true. even here in malaysia. about rm100 more. U need to know the guy in order to get it and if u do, it'll be an open box.
I still went ahead with the "G" and never looked back on this decision.
Prices are actually going down here.
Even in local shops, the S2 goes for 435,-€ at the moment, stock, sealed, unlocked.
Cheapest I've seen it any where:
1saleaday.com/wireless
I was going to upgrade but the galaxy nexus has really mediocre sunlight legibility. One area I can never compromise on, might upgrade to S2 but then given samsung's poor software support I am not sure.
Sammy has done pretty well with its gs2 updates
Sammy had learned from the past (gs1 froyo update) and started speeding up the gb update wasn't as bad
Heck the gs2 had official ics before ns4g

Be careful about those Galaxy Nexus on sale from 1saleaday or Negri. Some of them seem to be unlocked NTT Docomo models and not a straight up version.

Yesterday, we told you that US Cellular and Samsung India are accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 2 and today were made public the release dates of Note 2 for several European countries. It seems like Europe will get the upcoming Samsung sensation phone first and you should try to find more info at your local dealers to find out if you can pre-order it.
Samsung says that it will start shipping the Note 2 ‘phablet’ starting with September 27 and the first country that will get it, is Germany. However, almost all European countries will receive the device in weeks 40 and 41 of 2012. It will be released with the latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware and it comes in two different colors, Titan Gray and Marble White. You should check web sites of your local dealers and see if they are accepting pre-orders for Note 2.
The release dates for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 in Europe are these:
Germany – 27th of September.
Italy – 28th of September.
Netherlands, France and UK – October 1st and 2nd.
All other countries in the EU should get the device around the same dates. The device will pack a 5.5 inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display, an 8MP camera, 1.6 Exynos quad-core CPU, Premium Suite for Note, S Pen stylus, Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS.
The pricing of this smartphone-tablet device starts from 700 Euro, but it might differ from country to country. Also, Samsung said that they expect to sell at least twenty million units of the Note 2, but I personally think that that number is a little out of reach seeing that numerous phone manufacturers are getting ready to launch new devices in Q4 2012.
The Titanium Grey and Marble White are the available colors, just like the ones used for the Samsung Galaxy S3. If you like big screen devices and you take into consideration the specs of Note 2, then this device is a must-buy and you shouldn’t hesitate to purchase it, even if the pricing is around 700 Euro or $900. Tell us in comments that you think about Samsung’s new Note 2 device and whether you think that it will become an instant success or not.

price is high, GPU is old....
hope HTC will release a phablet soon (im buying only htc, samsung and sony. samsung is expensive and sony wont release a phablet..).
~ 2 more weeks and my suffering will be over (on a Nokia N97 temporary cuz my original note died on me )
The reason the price is so high is because it includes the VAT (value added tax)
For those outside Europe, the price should be about $150 lower.

oh..I always thought it was a "I Gotta Have It FIRST" tax.
According to the US Cellular pre-order, it's $299.99 contract and $799.99 off-contract.

did you buy the international version ?
do you have the URL of the store ?
In India, the retailers are estimating it in the first week of October. Let's see though.
European retailers have links you have in stock soon.
If you can tell me I would appreciate some.

unfortunately not, even the Euro versions with LTE (right now there are at least 5 different versions, not all have LTE and the ones that do have LTE only work with a limited number of networks, most Euro versions will work with ATT 3G and 2G)
Thank you very much for the link to the store if you do not know any German website send outside Europe as it seems to be the first country to receive the note 2.

oh yes october 1st for UK! Gunna have to buy this on release day!
Thanks for posting release dates crazeco
