Hey guys, a little help please.
I need to access clockwork mod from powered off phone, bur I cannot remember the key combo to it.
I know power+X gives me the temporary CWM.
Anyone knows it?

If you installed CM7/MIUI or Defy's Bootmenu, then press Volume Down when a blue LED lights up.
If you have Droid 2 Bootstrap Recovery, put the turned off phone to charge, it will boot automagicaly.
Power + X boot to Motorola's Stock Android Recovery!
Power + Volume Up (or Down/Both?) + Camera = Bootloader Mode, necessary for flashing a SBF on RSD Lite.

i flash my phone with a custom rom from this forum
succesfull until RSD Lite step
after RSD Lite, my phone stuck at Motorola logo with blur
tried pull off and pulling on the batery with power and volume up, it got back to bootloader screen
try aother RSD Power, it is still the same
Progress till 100 persen, but the phone stucked at motorola blur logo
any solution, guys?

I try to upgrade to froyo.

Well first, is your phone rooted? Secondly, what stock version did you have?
I think I can get you up and running with Froyo
you may try to install your original version/build number sbf. if its work, maybe you can try flash froyo ROM again. then when you finished restore custom ROM all you have to do is go to bootloader then flash boot/devtree only sbf.. dont pull usb connection. but if RSD want you to turn phone manually then you need to press power button even though your phone at booting state..
i got the same problem, everything was working fine before i done it a couple times but then i used miui and my phone battery died and it wouldnt work after that so i decided to flash with rsd lite and after doing everything normally its just stuck at the motorola and moto blur symbol/animation thing. really frustrating.

did you find fix?
What SBF file did you use?
Have you tried another file?
get into stock recover (Vol Up + Power) then wipe data/cache

I have an Mb525 rooted (that was) running stock 2.2 Blurred. I installed the Defy boot loader and hard reset/wiped partitions and (tried to) install cm7 from SD, it installs fine, goes fine, everything is all set. Reboot the device and the splash image pops up with the white LED first, then the blue one for boot loader, and finally the green one. It stays on splash screen. I tried 2 different versions of cm7 and both do the same thing. I'm able to access the boot loader, it just doesn't finish loading whatever I flash onto it.
As my phone is dysfunctional, I would appreciate it if you could contact me through my Skype;

to go in stock recovery u must use Vol Down + Power
Solution
I had this problem. Found a solution at 4pda.ru
1. Shut down your phone.
2. Hold Volume- button, press Power button for 2 seconds. Then release both.
3. When you see Android robot press together both Volume+ and Volume- buttons.
4. Erase both Cache and Data.
5. Reboot.
Your phone should boot normally.

Pull the battery, plug the phone into the computer and it should automatically go into bootloader mode so you can sbf

Hello guys, first, sorry for my bad english.
I'm having some problems with my defy, I was using the CM7 for months but now it start to stuck on Motorola's logo and when I tried to access the stock recovery, by pressing Power + volume down, anything happened, I only can access the bootloader by pressing Power + volume up.
So I tried to flash a old SBF that I have here, but, when the device will start again, it stuck on Motorola's logo again.
Then I downloaded a SBF that seems to be the "original of my phone version" and flashed it, but the device stills stucking at the Motorola's logo.
I think that I need to wipe data/cache, but how?!?
Any advices??

He is saying you should start over and flash the Nordic SBF again.
But it would be helpful to know which SBF's you've tried which didn't work. What RSD lite version you are using? I'm using RSD Lite 5.3.1 and the 5.1.0 motorola driver and never had issues.
Don't forget to "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache" in Stock Recovery (power + vol down) before flashing.
Also, what did you do before CM7 stopped working. It doesn't break for no reason.

Im using RSD lite 4.9 and I don't know the version of the drivers...
And I could not wipe data/cache because I could not access the stock recovery
when I tried to access the stock recovery, by pressing Power + volume down, anything happened, I only can access the bootloader by pressing Power + volume up.

To enter stock recovery: Power up phone and press the vol down button. When you see the android icon push volume up and down at the same time.

Sorry, missed that part.
Well ... I don't recall reading about such behaviour before - unless the battery is dead.
But then you wouldn't be able to get the bootloader either.
I would try again to get into recovery and make sure you press the power + vol up buttons for a few seconds before releasing.
And out of curiosity: what exactly did you do when CM7 stopped working. It doesn't break for no reason.

I tried to enter in the recovery mode a lot of times and nothing!
I didn't done anything diferent that could make CM7 stop, it stopped by itself!
Guys, I'm thinking in send it to a techinical support, of Motorola.
What do you think?

I got a similar situation as our friend here. Today I had shutdown my Defy (rooted + stock 2.2.1) when i tried to turn It on again It got stuck at the operator logo forever!
I did the clear data from recovery and I got my cellphone back to live. Thanks!

I have a problem with my Defy MB525, This morning I woke up and found the cell with the Android Logo with Exclamation, it was really hot so I turn off pulling the battery.
Then I tried to power ON but still stuck on Motorola's logo, in trying to enter the recovery (Pressing vol+ and Power but nothing, same pressing vol-).
the strangest of all is that my Defy don't display the white led, so it's not charging?
As far as I was to the symbol of android with red exclamation, I tried pressing the volume buttons but none served.
I was looking in other threads but nothing helps me, can you help me please? thanks.
hey everyone, sorry if the questions may seem stupid, but im new to motorola phones.
my friend asked me to see if i could fix his droid x which is stuck on the "M" logo. ive tried SPFing but that requires a data wipe and for some reason, i just cannot get into recovery (holding home + power, releasing power while holding home). the phone remains stuck on the "M" logo. bootloader works and SPFing work but without recovery, i cannot wipe it. my question is, is there a way to wipe from bootloader? and a google search showed there was no fastboot for motorola phones so im out of luck there.
Hold Home first, and then Power. Keep them both pressed til you get to the screen with Andy the Android.

Holding Home + Volume Down and pressing power brings you into the stock recovery.
I was told Holding Power + Home get Andy Android then press Volume Up + Down...that is how I get the recovery screen...but I'm having the same issues. I'm not getting passed the M logo. I don't know how or What to SBF...what file would I use to try and get out of Logo screen? Is there a link to it?
.SBF is a file use to restore firmware on a phone with rsd lite or the all in one ezSBF

You can only use 4.5.621 .sbf
Other wise use 4.5.602

I was using quarx cm10 on my defy (green lens) for week.
My Defy is running after updating cm-10-20130117-UNOFFICIAL-mb526.zip into a boot loop.
See picture bootloop.jpeg
I can manage to boot into flash mode (?) by pressing power + Volume down button. Droid
and exclamation mark only appears (see recovery.jpeg). There is no menu. Defy does not
appear on computer when USB cable is plugged in (lsusb on Linux). So I can't flash sbf by
sbf_flash.x
How can I flash/recover my phone. nandroid backups are available.
Need help!

press your volume up and down key both when this exclamation mark appears you will be able to enter in motorola stock recovery mode where you can wipe data and cache.:good:

Thanks that helped go get into motorola stock recovery mode.
I also just learned to press power+Volume up to get into download mode.
Stock ROM is now flashed.
