I agree, I once was an Apple fan but once Android came out, it was all over for me. Say what you will about Apple but the world has lost a man who knew his tech and how to make some quality business decisions, my thoughts are with his family as well, it's tough losing a loved one. R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

He was actually a marketing genius. I've said it before: He could take a pile of dog [email protected] polish it up, repackage it, and not only sell it, but make millions of ppl want to buy it. By far the best marketing guy in decades!
Not really relevant here in the Android forum, no, but he was very influential to the tech world and as much as I dislike Apple its sad news. Competition is always good for innovation, and he was the most competitive.
There's a dedicated thread for this in the off-topic section. Let's keep it there, shall we?

not only that, but this is more PS3 related then android in anyway...if you read ANY of the legal docs you would know all of geohots computers/equipment was confiscated during the trial, and i doubt that he would go out buy a pc just so he could crack the bootloader, AND not only that, he said the REASON he bought the x10 was to get a feel for the security so he could crack the play. BUT since the play's bootloader should already be unlocked it really doesnt matter.

How am I not related to Sony Ericsson? I have an X10, among other Sony products.
You are the one who went completely off topic, and turned them dropping the charges to pissing on their own customers.
This action by Sony is the third step in recent weeks to right their former mistakes. Whether the GEOhot decision is directly related to the bootloader opening or the gingerbread update remains to be seen, but they most certainly are not pissing on their customers. It is actually quite the opposite.
For someone who brags about an IQ of 170, you really seem to be illogical and immature.
*sigh*

Sorry I am a weak minded fool with ADD! Im so insecure. Do you know what stephen hawking has to say about your iq?
Hawking was asked about his IQ in a 2004 newspaper interview, and replied, "I have no idea. People who boast about their I.Q. are losers." Yet when asked "Are you saying you are not a genius?", Hawking replied "I hope I'm near the upper end of the range."
But props to geohot. Not a god but deserving recognition. I wonder if anon made an impact at all?

It's impressive how threads go from Zero to Trolling in less than 5 posts.
Sony is trying to do some PR damage control. Sony HAS to do something about the hack because it's a public company and answers to stockholders. It really is that simple. No one in this story has to be evil. No one in this story needs to brag about an IQ of 170.
The fact that suing the hacker in no way prevents further hacking of the PS3 was an oversight that Sony's top management forgot to consider when they panicked. But they needed to react in SOME way.
I agree: suing a kid for meddling with proprietary software was not the smartest way to prevent further hacking. Sony seems to have patched the security flaw with the latest firmware and has let every other GeoHot wannabe that there WILL be repercussions if they try to **** with their console security again.

Hey everyone. I wanted to cleanup this post a bit in order to make a pretty big announcement. Here is an expcert from my blog post late last night. The whole post can be read here.
"Tonight, I so very pleased to announce that Intellijoy will be donating FULL versions of ALL their children’s apps to Android4Autism to be distributed on all the devices that we will be putting into the hands of Autistic children from around the US. I’m very excited about this because I truly believe this WILL make a difference in the lives of many Autistic children and their families. I don’t make it a habit of promoting companies on this blog because that’s not the purpose of Lost and Tired. However, Intellijoy is a company that is working to help our children learn through engaging and entertaining apps. My children benefit from the use of these applications and I know many more could as well. As special needs parents and members of the Autism community we should support companies like, Intellijoy, as they are providing low cost software that can turn your Android powered smartphone into a learning tool for your child.
So on behalf of Android4Autism and lostandtired.com, I want to THANK Intellijoy for helping to improve the lives our Autistic children and their families. If you have an Android powered smart phone and I KNOW many of you do, check out these apps on the Market. Help spread the word that these apps and others like it can be found on the Android Market. As a community we need to support the companies that are providing resources for our kids….. More to come soon…"
In the mean time get all the latest Android4Autism updates by following us on twitter: @Android4Autism or “Like us on Facebook.

What do you guys think. I was polling today on twitter for advice. I really like the name but can't decide between "Android 4 Autism" or Android for Autism". For url purposes android4autism.com looks better but written out, "Android for Autism" may look better. Using "for" looks more professional but I'm catering to kids and special needs families so using "4" may be a bit more casual and kid friendly.

My goal is to keep this going as long as I can. I'll need phones in December also. So that's perfect. I just wanted to let everyone know what I am going to be doing before everyone upgrades.
I already own the .com and .org for both android4autism and androidforautism. That way I have all my bases covered. The guy I use for my hosting is setting everything up on the server and I start putting the site together as I move forward. I want to put some feelers out in the Autism community to help identify needy families.
As I said I just wanted to say something now so that if and when you guys upgrade you have knowledge of what I'm doing so if you wanted to donate your device you could and if not that's cool to. Maybe you could just help spread the word.
Thanks again everyone.....

Thanks for the fix.
You realize of course that most of the opinions in this forum are more useful than that guy's?
Anyway, I have an iPad also. Ain't gonna be giving that up soon......

Wait, what? How can you even begin to justify this statement? The Woz is a co-founder of Apple and probably holds more patents himself than you can shake a stick at. If that guy doesn't know what he is talking about, no one does.

From the article: "If you're shocked to see such a senior figure at Apple blurt out such an anti-Apple opinion..."
Actually, Wozniak hasn't been an employee in any normal sense at Apple for a long time. He does hold a significant number of shares of course.
That aside, I have to say, that article kind of raised my opinions abuot Woz. I knew he was a fan of Android - but it's good to see him come right out and say what needs to be said.

If it wasn't for "that guy" you would not have that IPad.
