Here's the case/cover I'm using for mine. I found it at the AT&T store for $40. nice sturdy design with a real soft suede/micro-fiber lining, has openings for all of the ports including the SD card slot.
Body Glove Portfolio Case

Charger with a longer power cord, everyone seems to think that a 3 ft. cord is nuts.
I got the car charger on E-bay with the extension cord BUT the extension only fits the car charger, I looked at some of the spares in my pile and found 2 that will fir but do not output the same MA as the Acer (1.5A) I have one that is 300ma and one that is 500ma. I think I will see if there is one that matches and this would be the best flexibility. The car charger as is and the AC (if I can find one) to the extension cord.
The plug on the end of the car charger and the 300/500ma are the fatter & short one with a black round ring on the end.
If I wind up with anymore cables & chargers I will need a room for them. I think we are in the wrong business, make cables & make a fortune.
Hope someone knows of one of these AC to DC wall units and then this would be very cool.

How well did this charger work? Is it just like the OEM, but longer? I tend to not trust these third-party sets unless I've been given testimony...

Acer Iconia A500 Case with built-in USB Keyboard.
I bought this case\USB Keyboard and it rocks! Here is the link for the product and the review I posted on Amazon:
Go to Amazon on search for the "Acer Iconia A500 Case with built-in USB Keyboard. NEW KEYBOARD Guaranteed to be compatible with Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) - By GSAstore"- It works with Honeycomb 3.2 as well.
Review-"This product is without a doubt, the BEST Acer Iconia accessory I have purchased! No, joke, it actually took longer to unpack than for the keyboard to work when I plugged it in. I opened a browser and started typing using my on screen keyboard and THEN plugged in this USB keyboard. IMMEDIATELY, with NO ACTION or Settings required, I typed using the keyboard. I also went back and forth plugging and unplugging to see if I could make it "misbehave'. No luck, this thing worked every time! I also played around with the various keys on the board. Pressing ESC will close out the app you are in whether it is a browser session, e-mail, or whatever and return you to the Home screen. I also tested the Num Lock with the Function key and they worked as expected. Of course, you don't really need to use this because the numbers across the top of the keyboard work anyway. Now there are some keys\functions designed for Windows that won't work on the board, but then again, this keyboard is for my Android Tab and not a Windows PC.
I am VERY pleased with the product and HIGHLY recommend it. In addition, the seller was very quick to answer a message concerning my order and I received this item MUCH faster than I thought I would. I ordered it Tuesday, 10/4 and received it Friday 10/7.
I am a "tech gear head" and engineer so trust me when I say...."This product rocks!!"- Be Blessed! Matt. 6:33

yeah it works, plugged it right in and immediately started charging, might not be as snug but really no difference there.

Belkin Slim Folio Stand for Acer Iconia
Available at Target. I paid $29.95. Doesn't show up at the Target website or on Belkin's site, but it is available in the store.
This is the only reference I can find to it (although the idiots who took the picture have it propped wrong). Color is dark gray, not black.

I can vouch for the Zagg screen protector for the Acer A500. I am in Salt Lake City, UT (Where Zagg is based), and Zagg actually has a corporate store here. I took my tablet in and had it installed (cost about $40 total).
The Zagg is a 'wet' applied protector. Its the malleable vinyl type protector with the slight orange peel look once applied.
I do not work for Zagg.

Kindle DX or G-Tablet Cases

Anyone try any Kindle DX case with the Iconia A500 yet? They are almost the same size -- I think the Kindle is less than 1/2" wider though.

I was using this case and it did fit, but it made the tab very heavy. I like the Acer case better.

I have the G-Tab case with the keyboard and it works great as long as you use a USB hub. it doesn't matter which one and you can multiple devices with the hub. I tested with two keyboards and they both worked at the same time. Without the hub, the keyboard will not work.

No problem. The mouse actually works too. You just don't get the pointer, yet. I believe Honeycomb 3.1 should take care of that.

Just ordered this case and a very cool ultra portable USB HUB (link). With a bit of luck I think I can tuck this hub into the case and not have to have a second piece to lug around. I will post picks once I have it all together. With this case, that hub and my touch screen stylus (link), I think I have a laptop replacement. Well maybe not a full replacement, but a travel partner that can do everything I need it to while I am out and about...

My case was bigger than the tab so it would slide out a bit. Also I was worried of the flap holding it back coming in and opening the case and my tab coming out.
So I bought some of those velcro stickers (placed on top of some carbon fiber vinyl to protect the tablet) and voila, the tablet stays in place and can be easily taken off.
Just a tip if you want to secure the tablet a bit more

Here is a pic of the Iconia in the GTablet keyboard case. As with everyone else, I have to use a hub in order to get the keyboard to work.
It is a bit larger in dimension than the Iconia, but I found that the Iconia in the acer case fits like a glove.

Got it. Fits well except the power/sleep button was covered by one of the thicker leather corner holds. I had to flip it and now its covered by the thinner elastic corner hold, but is accessible
i just ordered the senyx leather case (for the Kindle DX) from amazon. they updated their description to include "A500 compatibility" hehe.
We'll see how it goes. Probably going to return the Acer OEM case today back to staples. not a big fan of it.

Keyboard/Case Combination Uk

Has anyone found a decent keyboard/case combination within the Uk? I'd like something that has the keyboard built into a leather style flip case. I had one (bluetooth leather flip case) for my iPad which was superb but the Iconia is a little too long for it
There are some on Amazon & Ebay, but people have reported in here that you need a USB hub to get the keyboard to work, which for me makes it useless. I don't want to have to lug around even more stuff!
The case also isn't a perfect fit.
Hi,
No personal experience but you might like the keyboard/case combination on eBay (search for object ID 160610349685 - Sorry I am not allowed to post hyperlinks yet)
The link refers to the Dutch eBay but I'll bet you can find the same device on the UK site of eBay.

re Case/Keyboard
hi - i have ordered one so will let you know my thoughts once it arrives - not expecting to much but again it may okay for light use in the office and i will use my other case for normal wear and tear protection.
I own that case or something amazing close to it. The reports of needing a USB hub to get the keyboard to work are accurate. I ending up buying a L shaped 4 port hub, it sticks out of the case but allows me to have a mouse and a usb stick plugged in at the same time.
My hope is that once 3.1 drops I can loose the hub, but I am not holding out to much hope.

I believe you mean this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160612016080
does anyone actually own this one and can they report if it actually works, functionality, etc.
Thank you!
i own one of this, i like the case a lot, it looks stylish and it's very good for note taking, i also use a bluetooth mouse for easy access, the keyboard is made for windows (it has windows key) and havent found a way to bind the back action with any key, most keys works as intended, even the menu key (next to alt gr), but it seems tha honeycomb is not made to be used with just keyboard, you need to use the touch screen or a mouse. the case weigth a little bit less as tablet, has 3 magnets (one for close, one to secure the back support, and other to hold the latch while you use it), overall i think its a great case for the tablet, would like a more "honeycomb" oriented keyboard like the acer official, but for most things this just works.
I use it with dexter's P1 Rom, cause i coudn't make it work with any other rom, no even P2, virtous or stock 3.01.
cheers

Thanks. I might try this one out. For $19 it is an inexpensive risk I think.
this is cheap as I am finding keyboards for $69.00. why so cheap that always makes me flinch like it is not to be believed.
what do you think...
just looks to dog gone cheap!
the only bad thing i see here, is that there is no protection for the screen, when you close the case, the screen is in contact with the keyboard. But the idea is good, transform the tab into something near the transformer from asus for 10 time cheaper ^^
can someone test it please
I have one on order. Should arrive this week sometime hopefully. Will report back on how it works with my Acer tablet
I've ordered one of these as well should do the job short term. Worth the money compared to what some of the other cases are charging. Now that 3.1 has been released hopefully we'll see a lot more bluetooth/keyboard case combinations for this tablet as it seems it 'wasn't completely compatible' with certain hardware prior to this update. Needless to say it worked fine with my wife's ipad 2 bluetooth case just unfortunate that i couldn't jam my iconia into one of them! I think if there's not a bluetooth keyboard/folio case combo available soon I'm going to buy a bunch of the bluetooth keyboards a bunch of the leather folio cases for the iconia and a big tube of superglue and start my own case company!!
well the keyboard case i orderd arrived this morning, so it was a quick flash back out of the Galaxy ROM so i can plug the usb in. Using it to type this up.
sorry no photos but those in the advert are about correct, the only one missing is the kick stand.
The Case Quality is adequate, but considering what it costs then i can not expet too much. Stiching is okay and reasonably tidy, get the feeling it will fray though if rubbed a bit hard. USB cable is more than adequate. There are no cutouts for Camera, speakers etc but then i dont need that when i am using it as an office tool.
Drain on the battery for the USB power is noticeable but then i suspect that is the same for most plugins. Not too much of the plastic smell so that was okay.
The case closure is held in place with a small magnet, just about strong enough for the job. The kick stand is also held flat to the case when not in use by a magnet which is a nice touch. The angle of the screen with the stand is fine for me
The keys themselves give just enough play, Typing is for me okay as i dont have the largest hands in the world but if you are wide fingered then it may a little tight.
the right hand Shift and Enter keys a little to close for me, i keep hitting the Enter key by mistake. Obviously the function keys etc have no purpose.
The real problem lies in the fitting of the Acer into the case - the lugs that are supposed to hold it are about 3-5mm too large so the acer is very loose. it wont fall out forward or to the sides but as there is no lug on the top, turn the case around without the clasp closed and it will definitely be on the floor. i am sure i can find a remedy for this that would allow me use the case with a greater feeling of security.
on the whole a useable case if the security can be sorted for those needing to spend some time at the keyboard, but probably not your long term day in - day out case. Mine will probably end up on my desk and i will slip the acer in when i wnat to use it and back to something else for mormal use.
Hope that helps
ps. typed this in a notes program as i find the browser is very laggy when trying totype directly in to it.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160610349685&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
GREAT FEEDBACK - thank you. I have the same one coming - should arrive next week.
For $19 - your review is very encouraging.
To use it for any normal activity you Need to figure out a way of not letting it slip out of the top. Some of the material you use on the dashboard of the car to stop your phone etc slipping might well do the trick . Probably easier and cleaner than some other methods I might try. But if it is a slip in and type , slip it out and walk away use, then it meets that criteria faily well.
Let me know your thoughts when you get it

I think you will be really happy. I have been using mine constantly since it arrived. Makes using the tablet much easier and far quicker when typing. Really adds a lot to the overall unit as a whole.
Just received mine in the post. So far looks very nice but need to wait until I can get home so I can test it with my Iconia! Will post pics and thoughts later and a link to the product.

What Bluetooth Keyboard Folios/Cases work with Acer Iconia A500?

So I have one of the USB keyboards and it works great, but takes up the port. There can be found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1175316
I am honestly happy with that one BUT
1) I am wondering if there is a bluetooth keyboard folio/case yet for the Iconia Tab so the port is not taken
2) If there is an Acer branded keyboard so all of the keys will work with the specific tablet
3) do the Apple and Xoom bluetooth keyboard folio/case work with the Acer?
month later - anything?
thought I would bump this thread. Is there ANY Bluetooth keyboard folios / cases that works with the Acer yet???
I don't think that the xoom bluetooth shouldn't have any problems, because it's both Android and bluetooth.
I wouldn't buy apple's keyboard before you can go into a store and ask if you can try it (because it can have a security handshake with other apple hardware)
I'm looking for a case that can hold a keyboard and tablet in one, but havn't found one for the Acer just yes (if you find one, let me know)
Xoom keyboard does work and there is a keyboard that Acer makes, just google it .
But I haven't seen any bluetooth cases yet.
Here is one I am considering: http://amzn.to/xJLQIO
Reviews on it are a little hard to go by, since the only reviewers so far are Xoom or Thrive users, and I'm not sure how the dimensions compare.
The mounting solution is rather interesting. It comes with 2 different sizes of rubber pieces that slide over the corners of the tablet, then Velcro to the inside of the folio. With our tablets being a bit on the heavy side, I'm not sure how well or long that would hold.
One thing I like about this one over the USB one mentioned in the OP (aside from it leaving the port open) is that this is a free standing case that looks like it could sit on your lap fairly easy, whereas the other one has that narrow easel stand which requires that it sit on a flat surface.
I'm still torn between them. If I had the cash, I'd just buy them both and return the one I don't like but that's not really an option, so I'll just hope someone else on here has tried this case.
There is an acer A500 specific keyboard. I use it and it works well. It has quick access keys for swapping apps and such straight from the keyboard. Not sure about a folio case though. I just use a laptop sleeve to carry everything and a hipstreet tablet stand to keep the tablet up.

which one and does it hold the acer in safely?

There is an acer A500 specific keyboard. I use it and it works well. It has quick access keys for swapping apps and such straight from the keyboard. Not sure about a folio case though. I just use a laptop sleeve to carry everything and a hipstreet tablet stand to keep the tablet up.

Thanks for the info - can you please provide some links to the keyboard you like and use and the sleeve, etc. Thanks!

I bought the Kensington and it is GREAT. It is the only case i use with my Acer now. The keyboard is really nice, no lag and the entire thing is first class.
this is the best android-buttoned keyboard (IMHO) that i have found. probably gonna get it when i have some leftover cash. has anyone here tried it with our tab?

The keyboard in the Kensington FOLIO KEYBOARD CASE is almost exactly the same as that sony one, and you get the full case/cover.
The wireless keyboard in the Kensington folio is just about the best wireless keyboard I have purchased to date, and you get the case with it. Can use with or without the case.
well, i'm not really into the folios, and the kingston doesn't seem to have the android specific keys like the sony....

if you look at the one i linked to, it has dedicated keys for back, home, multitask, menu, and search. the "android buttons".

the Kensignton one is NOT a cheap overseas one - it is much nicer
Check out this page on their website for info, videos, etc -

This is their brand new one that looks amazing -

I DID NOT buy direct from them as I found them much cheaper elsewhere
i said PICTURE quality was not that great. kingston is a good brand, i've bought their products before.
perhaps you could take a picture of your kingston's keyboard so we can see what the key layout is? i can't find a good pic online.

New bluetooth keyboard folio for Acer Iconia Tab - Being Returned - Junk

Seems to be available at Sears for around $100 and on Amazon for 1/2 that at $50

netbooks are cheaper
WOW..
Well to me First off it does not have a pointing device.Secondly .Its less portable then my notebook.I cant see putting in even my biggest purse. and to pack it around in my hand or over my shoulder defeats the whole purpose of a mobile OS device.. We sacrifice function for mobility and on the go use.. That case to me takes the mobility out of the Iconia or any tablet for that matter..I think if you must have a full keyboard get a netbook.
Just my two pennies...
My question was if anyone had this yet and could give actual feedback on this bluetooth keypad folio since there has not been one available for the acer iconia tab since I got mine. The ipad has one. The xoom has one. But nothing for the acer and something that has been widely posted that people are looking for.
If I leave my house and have ONLY my tablet then I am looking for a folio similar to what the other tablets have that will give me the full keyboard while not sacrificing one of my ports because it has to plug in. This seems to be the first option of this available.
I hope to see some actual feedback from a person who has one soon.
ALSO I HOPE this is the start of more similar bluetooth keyboard folio options becoming available.
I've got a USB one that I ordered on ebay shipping...
I have no input on the item in question. It seems to be a pretty good keyboard. I like this one. It provides more portability.

here are tons of other threads here and on other forums about the wireless keyboards available. This thread is specifically about the bluetooth keyboard folio combo that seems to be newly available.
Hey TV you are completly right! My apologies on the hijack! My best advice is to read people's reviews. The most helpful one for this keyboard states "3 of 3 people found the following review helpful:
5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect match!, February 7, 2012
By Peter E. - See all my reviewsThis review is from: i-Blason NTK Series Premium Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard Folding Folio Leather Case For Acer Iconia A500 10.1 16GB 32GB Tablet New (Electronics)
This keyboard is a perfect match for my son's Iconia A500. It is the same length, it pairs instantly, and just works so great! I recommend this keyboard! Forgot to mention that manufacturer claims it is water proof too. This could come in handy since I am a heavy diet coke drinker "
Cheers
Seems decent. Never liked the idea of waisting USB slot for the keyboard case .... hopefully someone picks one up and reviews?

Awesome , the way I see it, even if I bring a bt keyboard with me most the time there is no where or not much room to use it thats why a folio bt (not USB) keyboard would be sweet. Hope build quality is nice?
Sent from my Acer Iconia A500
Targus bluetooth keyboard
I purchased a targus Bluetooth keyboard for $40 at Costco Canada. It works great with my a500.
Received today the i-Blason NTK Series Premium Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard Folding Folio Leather Case For Acer Iconia A500 10.1 16GB 32GB Tablet - (http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-NTK-Wireless-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/tech-data/B006W31UJE/ref=de_a_smtd). So far it is working really well. Entire thing is average quality, but I did not expect much for $40-50.
Pairing was easy. After plugging in the keyboard to charge I simply went to the bluetooth setup on the tablet and it found it quick and paired right up.
The bluetooth keyboard is a silicone keyboard attached to a neopreme/rubbery feeling lower panel that makes the keyboard not move at all when put against the inside of the folio, which is a similar material. The keys are not the largest BUT also not the smallest. The construction of this keyboard panel feels a little flimsy and the keyboard is obviously glued onto the panel below it, but it works.
I have had no problem at all typing on the keyboard when using the tablet.
The case is a composite fake like material like most of the other similar cases. All openings, ports, camera windows are open and available which is a positive plus.
Here are the pictures -
This is the plastic case the wireless keyboard folio was delivered in.
Picture of the case open with the tablet in it. I have the keyboard set further back but you can move it around for your own comfort as you will see below. This also allows you to change the angle of the tablet if you want which is positive.
Another of the tablet in the case
Another angle of the tablet in the case -
here you can see the folio with the keyboard moved down to the end. It does not move at all due to the material. You can also see how the tablet angle has now changed with the different keyboard position.
Picture of the back of the folio with the tablet in it.
Picture of the keyboard panel and blue tooth keyboard. The keyboard does have a rubbery feel and the buttons are not as firm as a normal plastic key keyboard, but it does feel like most other silicone keyboards I have used in the past.
Notice how all of the F (function) keys have been replaced with preset smiley keys. This is an OK feature I guess but it would have been cool to have some programmable keys to use if possible.
Another picture of the keyboard
And another picture of the keyboard. Notice the charging port in upper right. Keyboard folio comes with a USB cable to plug keyboard into computer or other USB charging option. Online description for this item lists the following:
- Built-in Lithium Lion Battery Capacity: 500 mAh/ Water proof
- Standby time: 60 Days/ Uninterrupted Working time: 40 Hours/ Fully Charged in 3~3.5 Hours
I don't know if this is true yet as i am still charging it for the first time.
Side view with the folio open
Side view with the folio closed. No way for the tablet to fall out.
Other side view with folio closed
Picture of the top of the folio and the openings
Picture of the keyboard folio with tablet in it closed #1
Picture of the keyboard folio with tablet in it closed #2
Picture of the keyboard folio with tablet in it closed #2
Comparison pictures of new bluetooth folio on left and wired usb keyboard folio on right.
The new bluetooth keyboard folio is smaller then the USB keyboard folio and not nearly as thick. Also the keyboard is WAY safer in the new one and very little chance of falling out.
The keypad on the USB keyboard folio is slightly larger and the keys firmer and made out of a plastic material versus the silicone keys on the bluetooth keyboard folio.
Update - having some problems with the following
1) The pairing of the device seems to have issues and drops or I cant figure out how to keep it connected.
2) the keys are having some sticking issues where the same letter will go about 20 times and then just stop working.
This might be going back. I have emailed the seller for some additional info and/or guidance.
Will report back as I learn and hear more. Thanks!
This piece of junk is going back. It is just not working correctly.

no problem - back to the USB one that DOES work perfectly and has a good keyboard. The quest for a bluetooth keyboard folio that works will continue, lol
I have a friend that took a thicker portfolio he got for 15.00 at a show. Took a rubber flat rollable keyboard (usb) and attached it inside the portfolio (no worry about it scratching screen) and shortned or used a shortend usb flat cord. IT works well, he got the smaller rubber keyboard that is same width at frys. Which oddly has an addtional usb port and small hub built in even tho its a floppy rubber keyboard. (totally water proof).

[Q] Asus Vivo Smart ME400 C does it have...?

Hi all
Please help me. I am getting really confused with ME400 specification.
Especially with those few listed below:
- Does it have Wacom stylus support?
- Does it have Gorilla glass?
- Does it have full GPS?
Additionally what exactly is in the box?
Mini USB to USB adapter? Any other cables?
How does it compare to Dell Latitude 10 Essential? Is it worth considering?
I am almost ready to buy it (if only stylus is supported), will it be a good choice in this price range? I am looking for iPad replacement not laptop replacement so docking station is not essential for me.

No, you want the Vivotab 11.6" version.
No, scratch resistant but not Gorilla, or else they would proudly advertise it. Most likely, it is a corning glass like what Nexus 7 got but not Gorilla.
Yes, full GPS but good luck figuring out what app that uses it. I haven't found one.
You get the tablet, USB-AC power adapter, Micro USB to USB cable, and I got some small documentation. That's it.
Dell Latitude is only 32GB (which is probably about half usable out of the box) compared to the Asus 64GB (half usable). Dell has gorilla glass. I don't know if the Asus is 5 touch multi or 10 touch multi but Dell states there's is 10 touch.
Dell has slightly bigger battery, and a 802.11 dual band card. Asus is single band (2.4ghz) wifi card.
Dell looks to have proprietary power charger. Asus chargers over the Micro USB port.
Asus is plastic build, Dell looks to have better build quality.
Asus has micro SDXC slot, Dell is full SD.
Dell is slightly heavier (80g) than the Asus.
Dell removed the mini HDMI port, Asus has this
Asus has micro USB which requires an OTG adapter to use USB devices, Dell has a full size USB port.

As far as i know, all vivotabs are corning, no matter which version.
Even the vivotab 11.5" which has the stylus is corning.
Just did some research, Corning is Gorilla Glass.
Hmmm the highest model the normal vivotab advertises that.
According to this the smart is also corning, but cannot verify.

Thank you very much for your answers. it seems that Dell is quite good choice.i need to check if they they offering it with 64gb as well.
One more thing how about Wacom stylus support withMe400? For example styluses from Samsung Note would they work? I found on Asus Web page that Wacom Styluses would but it was mentioned in Smart Note description so I am asking for first hand experience as on their page it could be copy /paste from 810 description for example,
In terms of Vivotap11,6 do you mean TF810? If so, I was looking at it and if ME400 is supporting stylus there is nothing tempting for me. I don't need docking station and already have bluetooth keyboard. 9.5h is more than enough for me. and price is 1.5 time of Me400 I really look for iPad replacement and laptop experience is not my requirement especially if this drives price up. on the paper both devices share similar specs processor, memory storage.
Can you advise what else beside docking station and larger display TF810 has to offer?
Wacom stylus are active, ME400c only can use passive stylus. There are some that are fine tip (JotNot comes to mind) that are passive.
TF810 is the one I was referring to, yes.
TF810 has active stylus (Wacom) support.

Please can anybody who has this device to confirm this in use. I have to be 1000% sure as this would be a deal breaker for me
Send me a wacom active stylus and i'll test it for you.
As it is, it does not have a digitizer so the active stylus won't work. Wacom does make stylus for capacitive screens without a wacom digitizer installed (which the 810FC has)
If you look here, the specs for the 810 show a wacom digitizer, the ME400c does not
http://www.asus.com/vivo/en/vivoTab.htm
@caudex
Corning makes Gorilla glass but also makes glass that is not Gorilla. Simply associating any glass made by Corning to be Gorilla glass is incorrect. That's equivalent to saying that since Chrysler makes Hemi, that all cars Chrysler makes have Hemi.
The Corning glass used by Asus in the Vivotab RT and the Nexus 7 are Corning Fit Glass. They are advertised as scratch resistant, but not as Gorilla glass.
Asus advertises the Vivotab 810C as having Corning Fit, not Corning Gorilla Glass. ME400c only advertised as scratch resistant.
11.6“ Ratio: 16:9 ( 1366x768 ) LED Backlight screen with IPS

Thank you guys for all answers. Now I have to decide if I can live without active stylus.. I will need it only for note taking and some sketches so this Jot stylus could do the trick.
What are your opinion on Acer W510 vs ME400 as price is almost the same (if you add keyboard and cover to ME400).
Also is there a point waiting until MWC 2013 to see what premieres will take place?
Is there any technological revolution just behind corner worth waiting? Any new atom processors sooner than Bay Trial? As if I got it correct this one is due to be released late 2013 so devices with this chip will hit market early 2014.
Thanks for helping.

The Acer is pretty nice, not a whole lot different than the Asus, though they are slightly different prices here ($100 more for the W510, no dock). The $100 price difference in favour of the Vivotab is the main reason I bought one over the Acer.
You could wait but if you think you're going to get a faster processor for this with the same battery life, it won't be until closer to q3/q4 if anything when they release Bay Trail, the upgrade to the current CPU. Don't expect Haswell to be it, at more than 4x the TDP for the lowest power chip. Same with AMD. The main thing I would like to see is either more storage space for the same price (possible) or a faster drive (mSATA or the like, not eMMC). I suppose USB 3.0 could come but that is probably for Bay Trail as well.

Hi all
Thanks to all your replies I made my decision. Knowing all of the above I know way to expect and hopefully I will not be disappointed. I am going to buy ME400
Is there any case you can recommend? How about Vivo RT cases? Will they fit? Dimensions are almost identical. How the rest? Ports? Cameras? Speakers?
Are there any issues or problems you have faced?
Dead pixels? Yellowish spots? Rattling noises? Bad speakers or anything else to pay attention for?
Thanks guys
I haven't found any problems with it. Windows capacitive button can
I normally use headphones but my son has used it for his videos and no problems with the audio. I'm not listening to them for audiophile reasons, they are just tinny speakers after all.

I was looking at this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/IVSO®-TF600...OMAW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1360184082&sr=8-2
It's for tf600 but its dimensions are almost identical to me400.
Now waiting for me400 to be back in stock. Btw I ordered screen protector for tf600
My ME400 arrived home yesterday and today is going back. It has a flake or dust under the glass. Looking closely you can see that it's kind or shard pressing screen itself.
Do you have any problems with Me400 screens?
No problems with my screen. Opened a white/black powerpoint presentation in slideshow mode to check for stuck pixels or anything under the screen.
Soon I will have "faulty-LCD-Fobia" this is second ME400 I have. First has the dust under glass and now second has sligh light leak in the left bottom corner (but I could still live with it) but the two bright spots I won't tolerate.
They are actually much more visible in reality than on the photo. I cannot really explain what they are. They are invisible on black background. White or bright background make them visible.
You can call me Mega-jinx but I have been replacing my iPad 2 nine times due to dead pixels. The 9th is perfectly fine.
With ME400 I hope NOT to break this record.
Keep the fingers cross.
Guys,
I'd like to know if someone can share the drivers and BIOS (newer) that received by Asus Live Update?
I'm trying a lot of times to get the update but the asus live update can't work anymore.
Thank you!
I got my 3rd tablet this time (touch the wood) is perfect
Regarding to bios - its updated itself via asus update but I have no idea if or where it saves those files. Tried to find it without sucess. Sorry
I have a Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 2.
The stylus DOES NOT work with the ME400. Like previous posters have mentioned, this is not a wacom digitizer tablet. Passive stylus is the way you have to go.
OTG cables work, waiting to confirm that Micro SDXC works in this device. However, posters in another thread have confirmed this.
In my opinion, Vivotab RT cases should work fine with this device. Nearly identical with minor differences. If anything, the RT has more things to consider regarding cases. Keyboard doc, additional speaker, dock lock slider switch etc.
LOVE my 400. Had it about a week. Use Onenote (Home and Student edition) which syncs perfect on Skydrive across my other machines, Got a free Outlook 2013 from my exchange server carrier, and the battery is fabulous. I bought the Moko Slim case and Ink pen/stylus on Amazon which now comes for the 400 for a perfect fit.
Only suggestion I have for new users is to go to Display setting and turn the percentage up to 140 - 150 so your fingers will work on the Desktop mode easier, and better on the eyes.
Pefect cross over machine for me for business and casual media reader.
USB works perfect with the dongles, even a USB hub. Only wish it could charge through the hub, won't work.
I'll leave photoshop my my nice fast desktop with the 26" monitor.
