Hello community!
I noticed in the 2.3.3 version of my r800i it had the old tv style-like off animation when you turned the screen off. I loved this cos its what I thought made the nexus s so damn sexy. But alas in 2.3.4 its gone
Anyway to get this animation? Without roms, I've taken quite a liking to timescape

enable some/all animations under display settings.
i believe that crt animation is gone on 2.3.4. i think op is asking for the apk that enables it..
try playing with the system apps from the .368 firmware..

If you download the app called "Screen OFF and Lockscreen Off" you can use it to turn of the screen and lock the phone just as you would from the power button. This app has many different styles in how it turns off the screen. One of them being the crt animation. I use that and when I turn off my phone. You should check it out in the market.
I saw a thread of ow 2 upgrade the xperia play to 2.3.4. Cud sum1 tell me the steps 2 do it pls coz im new! Also this won't do harm rite?

So what kinda lockscreen u guys using? widgetlocker or normal? Plus what theme do you guys use on widgetlocker or on normal lockscreen (metamorph)
widgetlocker lock screen
i used widget locker is great alternative locker android phone it gives you many feature
I use the stock one. I did use widgetlocker, but it has a lag between pushing the power button and appearance of the lockscreen. And I started hating it afther a wile, somethimes the lag was so worse that you could press the unlock button, unlock the phone with the standard (htc)lockscreen and hit the homescreen and then had to unlock widgetlocker because it was to slow.
The standard android homescreen doesn't look very good tough, the sliders are to big. But I'm more or less trying to find out what can be done to make it look good.

Stock froyo it looks like htc didn't do an effort to make the standard lockscreen look good
It is possible to make them all right again, but you have to flash an other framework, which I find realy ugly
So I tought to substract the right files of that "new" framework and put them in the stock framework, but its harder then I tought but I'll continue when I have the time!
Hello everyone,
Mine is a strange issue. I rooted my wildfire using downgrade method from this forum and flashed it to 2.1 with Hboot 1.01.001 and then installed CM7 stable build as suggested by the thread.
everything was good and then suddenly the icons and the text has been burried under so i need to touch it by judging what it is from the icon.
please help.!!.
Can you post a screen shot?

Could just need the simple icon size adjustments in adw?
" once its gone,its GONE."
Well I use go launcher and I have the option to turn off the names under them, so is it possible you've click on a similar setting in adw?

I checked everything on ADW,nothing works.how to take screenshot ?
Depends what cyanogenmod you have. If you have 7.1.0.1 then hold the down the power button and select screen shot. If not then you'll need a screen shot app

Ohh thank you so much. You guys are wonderful. I did something and now the icons are showing in full.
Is it possible to have live animated wallpapers as background on home screen ?
if yes, will that slow the entire phones operation.
The reason i'm asking is this
I tried overclocking and after reboot the phone was working ok,but i don't notice any faster than before.

Well when you overclocked did you select the "Set at boot" checkbox because else when you reboot the phone slows back to default speeds. Also, to enable live wallpapers long-touch a blank space in the home screen and touch "wallpapers">"live wallpapers" to select one. The default "nexus" one works fine with little lag for me on the overclock settings shown in my signature
Thank you so much Matt.
The overclocking is now working good, yes i didn't ticked the CPU set at boot. ON live wallpaper-- when i click live wallpaper all i see is google maps. and nothing else on the list.
I guess i have to get a seperate live wall paper.
Do i need to reboot my phone to make the CPU overclock settings to be implemented ?.
Thanks once again.
Well, we don't have MIUI for our phone, but at least we can now get the lockscreen
From MIUI themselves: http://app.miui.com/index_en.html
EDIT: I am not sure whether if this fits our screen our not. Try it at your own risk (of course, if you do get stuck at the lockscreen, let's pray that you have the back button set to kill the current application unless, of course, you have another workaround).
EDIT2: It looks like the lockscreens do not fit our screen. Not that you shouldn't give it a shot though
Good start, but if you get stuck, reboot, then force stop the app.

i believe that you can enter a safe mode that disables third party apps (as long as you remain in that mode). in safe mode, you can uninstall this app, and once you reboot, everything should be back to normal.
to enter safe mode, hold the menu button during the bootanimation.

Thanks! After I got back in I saw in the settings a tip that you can unlock by pressing back & volume up.
I got it to work fine on my droid x, what I want to know is how to edit downloaded themes or create my own
Thanks Dude
Yeah, MIUI Lockscreen is only for HDPI devices,
but, i try to porting it to LDPI,
check on my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20363645
I have also ported some lockscreen form MIUI to LDPI devices

someone try this to make sure its not just me... unlock the phone regular, and of course the normal fade in home screen animation appears... but then lock the phone, slide over to open the lockscreen camera widget, then press home and lock the phone again. now when you unlock the phone, does it skip the fade in animation? cause thats what happens on mine, only way to get that smooth unlock animation back is to reboot the phone. BTW im on completely stock 4.2.1 no root locked bootloader stock recovery.
Animation is gone after doing all that so its not just you
