Is the Evo 4G getting it????
or its just for the Nexus S 4G
The Nexus S 4G is the only one to get it because it only provides one feature, Google Wallet which requires an NFC Chip that the HTC Evo 4G doesnt have. Plus I dont think that HTC will have any more updated for the Evo 4G

thank you..... I think the same, the key is that they take a phone and give you enough promotion so you can buy the phone and the year after thay take another phone out with two or three different things so all customers will want the new ones, im pretty sure its a way to take more money from customers... like the iphone 3G 3GS 4, then 4s
sorry for my english

There will most definitely be another OTA and final update for the EVO4G, but that will likely only be a patch for the recently found security vulnerability found within the HTCLoggers.apk

Salvagemod might update to the latest aosp version. But with ics due in the coming week or two I might focus on getting things ready for that.

If 2.3.7...where's 2.3.6? Jkjk I don't really care. But what's the point of running 2.3.7 if it only makes use of the chipset required for the new Google wallet? Kinda redundant if you ask me

Extending the company’s 4G device leadership yet again, it is the fourth 4G phone available and 20th 4G device announced from Sprint."

I'm interested in so far as this improves Epic gingerbread support.
Would the nexus S end up needing a diff custom rom? Like a sprint version?

LOL. Yeah! The Rom on that phone will be so clean that people will be tempted to put sprint's crappy bloat ware on it.

i personally will be enjoying my new ns4g on may 8th, i will enjoy it even more when ice cream comes out. really and truly each device has their own market, there is no reason to slam down one just because.
one of the biggest draws for me is the software, within 4 days cm7 will be on the nexus s 4g. the nexus is still getting updates that leaves me very optimistic about the nexus s. ideally they would have brought a nice new lg nexus instead but hey whichever

Since the Nexus S 4G is coming out soon and of course it'll get a source code, how much will it affect CM7 development?
I'm positive 4G will come much quicker but is there anything else?

It depends on what hardware elements are the EXACT SAME, for instance it won't help with the camera because they have different sensors, but it might help with the GPS.

I have a chance to trade my nexus s 4g for an evo 3d. I've been back and forth trying to decide what with the ics launch imminent. Should I go for it?
From Degobah
if you want the OTA updates first, keep the ns.
anyways i would never sell my NS or something. maybe later i'll get the newest nexus (from google.). once I have a google phone its hard to let go of it
Right! That's my biggest indecision! I had the epic before this...and I don't care of it's Sammy, HTC, or Moto, it's going to take a looong time for those phones to get updated. I'm just falling victim to wanting the dual core and bigger screen. Bit after the whole epic 4g fiasco...I don't know if I want to take that risk again.

That's how they make money. Tempt the customers with awesome specs, then make the product obsolete as soon as possible by keeping the software updated for just a short time.
I don't care about the latest hardware, I want the latest software. That's why I'm keeping my Nexus S.
I remember a user here who traded his Evo 3d for a nexus s. Going from nexus s to evo 3d is not an 'upgrade' in my opinion.

ahm.. evo 3d is not that good imho. If you are going to upgrade make it at least something like a GS2. Community support for that phone is big. So even if that phone don't get early ICS, the developers will have a stable ICS rom on it.

I was stuck with the hboot1.5 and it was a pain in the ass to root. I didn't want to do it the HTC method. Plus I also noticed on numerous 3D phones that they had an issue with on time and awake time. They would be close to equal. I think it was due to the software 2.3.4

Maybe, but so far I haven't found anyone to trade for an epic touch 4g. Plus after the 2 snafus propagated by Samsung with original epic, I'll pass, plus all the Los issues with it...no thanks. I'm sure for an upgrade in January, so I'll just hold on to this until the galaxy nexus his for sprint.

I'm on a family plan and they are switching to at&t so I gotta follow. I was wondering what the beat phone from them is right now. I love my evo. It has been nothing but good to me. I want a phone similar. I was think the HTC one x but it doesn't have a removable battery.

One X bro I used one today n I fell inlove with it, though Classic EQ preset sounds better than the famous Beats Audio preset on stock music player, let down.... anyways u also got the Vivid or Inspire if ur an HTC lover, though with the One X I personally wouldnt consider any of them and the X's battery is great according to some ppl, though no SD card slot is another let down....

The non removable battery isn't a deal breaker believe it or not! Just look at most tablets........they got a set combo that you can press if you get stuck in a bootloop or whatever
I would go with the one x if I was on At&t BUT that's just me.............shop around that's my advice to you dude! At the end of the day, we're not the ones that are going to be stuck with that phone....is YOU! I could tell you get this, get that BUT you got to like it........everything else is a matter of opinion!
GOOD LUCK!!
Awesome thanks for the fast responses. And that was my big worry with the removable battery that I wouldn't have any option if I got in a boot loop or a rom acts funny and I need to hard reset. If there is a hard reset feature then I think I'm sold. But I'm still not sure lol.

Galaxy Note
I got an evo when they first came out and have flashed everything to it. My HTC EVO 4G(I love saying it) has been an incredible phone but I recently upgraded to a Galaxy Note and I Love it. Its huge just like the evo used to be huge but I am used to it now and all phones feel tiny. The pen believe it or not is actually pretty useful, its fun to draw with but I also take a lot of notes and it has helped me out immensely with my business.
Yes its a tad slower than the htc one x and I do miss sense, but I need me an ext sd and removable battery. If i didn't like options i'd get an iphone. whats up with that HTC? that's seriously the reason I went with the Note.
but I recently bricked/semi bricked/softbricked my Note upgrading to ICS and that sucked but I fixed it and finally got the new official ICS and cannot be happier. I installed nova launcher over crapwiz and now im in heaven.

My debate is pretty much between the One X, The Note, and an iPhone...I know. Its sad I'm thinking ios over android. I'd regret it alot later but its an option.
But with the Note, I heard that the hardware Samsung uses on there android devices is pretty crappy like its built out of cheap parts.

I heard that too, but I dont think mine feels cheap at all the build quality is good and the parts on the inside dont feel too quick. Sometimes i cant believe how much faster it is than my EVO. I am able to run anything like grand theft auto really smooth. I do have the international version which is faster that the ATT version so that kinda suck for the OP.
and the new evo doesnt have that feel of being or having something that no other phone has. When the OG Evo came out it was one of a kind nothing could compare to it. The Note is the only phone that really stands out to me, More than the Galaxy s3 since its a bit similar to the htc one x.
Thats just me though, I like big phones. and i cant stress this enough that you do get used to the size unless you have small hands but my 8 years old niece can use it just fine.
i left to AT&T for the galaxy note - if you have LTE in your area it is SICK!

I don't know what it was because I didn't care to know( maybe the newest galaxy ), but it was a powerhouse and was honestly the smoothest phone I have ever used. So I'm leaning towards Sammy for a new device to be honest
