Hi everyone ,
so here a problem thats new i guess ,
i have a htc panache on 2.3.3 n i wana root it to get the new sense 3.5 Custom rom on it,
BUT here it wher it gets complicated , i have unlocked it Using the XTC_CLIP i dnt know if all of u know whats that but now its S-OFF ,actually this is what it shows when i go to recovery now,

Kinda odd that you already now have S-OFF. But you're gonna have to downgrade back to 2.2.1 first. This thread will show you everything that you need to do/know.

thanks,.n yeaa it is ODD dats da reason i wanted to post my query separetly coz i already unlocked it S-off using XTC CLIP,. so i was wondering Now that iv unlocked it what would be the procedure from here onwards ,.

Doesn't gingerbreak.apk work if S-Off?

Gingerbreak won't work.
On the other hand, having S-OFF allows it to flash PD15IMG with recovery, for example. Which in turn allows everything else.
You totally didn't need to use the XTC clip! And what kind of a noob are you if you have an XTC clip? ;-)

Then boot into recovery and flash any ROM you want to. Or root the stock ROM using the superuser update zip from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828 (use the "ef" Eclair/Froyo version)

thanks digitaljeff for the quick reply. i read through the thread you sent me. i am still confused on how to root my fone. of course i dont want to brick my magic.
is it possible to get root access in htc magic without reinstalling a rom?

Use any of the rooting methods you see, follow the step where they downgrade to 1.5 and install the patches and recovery. At this point you stand rooted.
Do not flash a new rom and you are good to go.

Not sure if this is the right thread to post, but for some reason im on s-on but i can still flash custom rom and still get permission.. except i cant change my pri still stuck to 2.15_33 trying to flash to 1.77.33. can someone help me how to make that s-on to s-off

hello everyone i need some help i looked around but did not find what im looking for so here im well today i got an ota update and im rooted dont know why i did it but i did so it went after restart it comes up with a triangle with a ! in it and under a green android guy will not go past that so is i take the batt out and start it boots fine but after about 2mins it say power off could someone help thanks so much.

If you still need help I would search XDA on a way to downgrade. Maybe a PD15IMG.zip file or something like that where you can boot into bootloader. I'm not sure, but I think searching [mytouch4g gingerbread to froyo downgrade] or something similar would help. God luck!

Is your phone S=on or S=off? What bootloader version do you have?

You have the stock radio and eng bootloader and it looks like you're rooted. Where did you see that you have the ota? You may want to try to just flash your recovery, it may have been removed if you got something ota.

The Super One Click method ... says the Device is Already Rooted.........I have the Pirate Android Super User Installed on the Phone......but just cant Install the Custom Recovery or Anything Else !!!!!!!
I downloaded the Rom Manager from Market and tried Installing the CW Recovery....and it says Super User not Found !!!!
I tried Installing Titanium Backup....it says the Device is not Rooted !!!!!!
its become more of a PAINFUL CHALLENGE !!!!
Any advise or suggestion ??? Anything is welcome to Help me out of the mess !!!!
(wish rooting this damn phone was as easy as rooting my DHD )

TRIED.......reinstalling SU......even upgraded it from market......
tried Universal Androot.....NAH.......
its become a pain...
I remem I had this issue as well try making it mount the memory card while u are doing onclick root method.you should see at the end of the procesd a promt to donate if u don't see that you and I had the same issue try re downloading program and mem mounted and not mounted...

Hi, this is because you have to install su.zip from the recovery. Did you change original recovey?
You need install fastboot & adb drivers on your pc, the best tutorial you can found in wiki or google putting recovery mytouch. You need to know if our mytouch is 32A or 32B this is very important...
I am trying to unroot my sister Mytouch 4G and I'm having a hard time getting the PD15IMG to read from bootloader. I believe the goldcard method was used to root. Not sure what all that means but this is what it reads under bootloader:
Glacier PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT 0.85.2007
MICROP-0429
RADIO -26.03.02.26_M
EMMC-BOOT
She is currently on Virtuous Sense rom 4.0 if this help

None of them work
I really need to unroot because I'm giving it to my niece and she will not know how to keep up on custom ROMS in case something should happen.
Can someone please help me out or point me in the right direction??

I have an idea. Pick a rom. And remove root permissions from it. I'll try and do it for you, just tell me the rom. The custom recovery and the s-off will stick though if you do this.
