Does anyone know of anyway to disable bluetooth voice dial? I never use it and I want to use a app that will map my bt buttons to my music player "headset button controller" but bt voice dial always comes up. I have searched around the web and found tons asking but seen nothing on XDA the only thing close I can find is this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827472 but it really has on tips on how to do it just that you need root any help would be appreciated. Riding season is almost here and I want to control my tunes

If you don't use voice dial at all you can remove the voice dial app with sdx app removal tool but you will have to root to use it. If you search for one click root and unroot it should pop up. I can get you links this evening if you need them.

I'm rooted and on a custom rom thats not the issue I just didnt know how to get it turned off. I have played with the sdx remover will give it a shot Thanks
Well that didnt work. with voice dial removed now when I'm in the music player and hit the button my phone freaks out it doesnt FC but it hangs up eventually goes to the lock screen I can wake it up but the screen does not respond. Also tried holding power before it locked and got reboot etc screen but the touch screen does not work. oh well maybe I wont be getting this function lol

Sorry. Did you restore voice dial with sdx? You could go back to Eclair where there was no bluetooth voice dial
We need better bluetooth controls. I used Top Voice Control and picked that to open when I hit the Bluetooth button and it screwed up so wanted the basic voice dilaer back and had to delete Top Voice to do that.

I don't know how can I changed the setting of the home button that start google voice command...
I downloaded the autovoice app but when I try to swipe the home button I have only the google option.
some one can help ??????

What ROM are you using?
Many ROMs have the option of changing ring targets.

I have got that same issue, but I cannot find any solution.
I'm using an Oppo Find 5 with Android 4.2.2 PAC-Rom.

Are you trying to say that you accidentally changed the swipe up from home and you want to change it back, or that you are trying to change it to do something else?

Pick an alternate launcher.
Using Nova:
Nova Settings > Gestures and Buttons > Home Button > "choose action you want here".
I know this is an odd question but I'm trying to figure out what the button to the left of the call button in the phone is. It's a picture of a microphone with a phone.
I debloated using the toolkit (Galaxy S5 ALL-IN-ONE Toolkit v1.7) and whatever it was is now deleted. I'm going through and adding back some of the things i don't consider bloat and am just wondering what this button was supposed to do.
<edit> come on, 28 people have looked at this and no response. PLEASE just click the dang thing and tell me what it does. I'll hit the thanks button.

If you tap the button it allows you to speak the name (if in contact list) or number of a person you want to call.

thanks. taking out s-voice must be what deactivated it
I'm not sure S Voice has anything to do with it, as you can also tell the button to use Google Search as a voice dialer.
Edit: Never mind, it definitely is S Voice. You can use Google Search for a voice dialer, but you still must have S Voice installed for it to work, even if you don't use it.
Guys tell me why saying OK GOOGLE isnt works rather than hitting the mic button first to search on google by using voice commands?
How to make this work just by saying OK GOOGLE from anywhere on the screen?

I recently installed LineageOS on my Moto X Pure Edition. I have this weird problem with Google Assistant though. When I hold the home button to open it, it opens my recent screens menu instead. The weird part is that I can open Google Assistant using the "Okay, Google" launch phrase. I hope some of you guys can help, I really would like to have Google Assistant again.

UPDATE:
I fixed this problem. I went to settings > buttons > home long press action and you want to select search Assistant. Thanks to everybody who helped me!
I can't even open Google Assistant on my LineageOS. The Google app crashes everytime I say OK Google or Hold down home button.
What did you do to get it working?

So I found this zip file, I'll attach the link in one second, I flashed that and then updated the Google app. I actually just got it working. In settings you want to go to buttons, then find long hold home button or something along the lines of that. Tap on that menu and select search Assistant. Here's the link I was talking about: http://www.lineageosdownloads.com/get-google-assistant-lineage-os/amp/
From there your gonna want to scroll below the QR code and find the right version for your phone. It depends on your architecture, select the v6 link next to your architecture and flash that. If you need help with anything just let me know.

Ohh thanks a lot for the link.
Well, One tip in return, Try using Beta version of Google App.
Go to Play Store > Google > Scroll down > Opt for Beta testing
After few minutes your Google app will update. Clear Data and restart.
Not sure if it will but worth a try.
