HD2 doesn`t boot WP7 - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

Hi,
I have a big Problem,
my HTC HD2 will not boot WP7
The bootloader is running,
i can boot al things and when i will run WP7 after MAGLDR 1.13 the Phone never will go out of the Boot-Logo (HTC quietly brilliant)
The Problem is, all the other Roms there are older then the Mango-Roms aren`t going now....
The DFT-Test Roms are running and all the other Roms will not run....
if anybody here who can help me?
(my english is not very good but i hope you can understand it )

Which rom are you using? 'Cause that's the point...
Have you experienced other issues with previous roms? Because it could be related to your sd card...

SD, RAM, NAND Installation

hi all,
what is difference and benefit between RAM, SD, NAND installation ?
please leave your feedback and experience here..
James
Well here is a quick run down. I use a SD build myself.
Ok Andriod from SD card and RAM is kind of one in the same. You have to copy both versions to your SD card and run CLRCAD and HARET to boot them. But the SD builds run strickly from the SD card, were as the RAM versions place certain vitaile parts of the Android system in the RAM of your phone the first time you boot it, there for taking a little less time to boot but to be honest I don't think there is much difference between them as far as speed and usability. They both also have little hiccups with every build, but nothing that can not be lived with though,I mean after all we all have had to tolerate Windows Mobile Also this is the safest method to run Andriod on hour HD2.
Now NAND is a whole nother ball game. A NAND Andriod Rom will wipe Windows Mobile from your phone. This will let it boot straight into Andriod just like it if it would have came on the phone. They say everything works on the NAND builds and that they are super fast. But NAND takes a lot more time to install and to research before installing. You have a process of having to install HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR 1.13, and then flash your Andriod ROM.
A lot of people love NAND and say they will never go back. But others (like myself) like the SD/RAM builds cause it allows you to dual boot wich is awsome. Hope this helps
Just please read the sticky treats. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931192 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905841
Both at the first post in the treats
Just to add that ram is no longer synonimous with SD builds, many nand builds load parts into ram at boot. The benefits being a somewhat improved load time for apps, but as in post 2 that's fairly negligable, but what does help is that the framework is in ram too so you tend to get smoother menus, transitions and such.
ram isn't a build type in the way nand and SD are, you choose SD or nand, then with ramdisk tweaks or without. Some ram builds go all the way and load everything into ram, some just a few key parts.but they all start on SD or nand.

I understand your fear of bricking your HD2. With the T-Mobile HD2 you have to make sure you do not flash a wrong radio to it. The T-Mobile HD2 is not like the EU HD2 you can not flash just any ole radio to it. A wrong radio flash on a TMOUS HD2 (T-Mobile HD2) will end in a bricked phone everytime. This is a simple way to tell if the radio you want to flash are the radio in a ROM is compatible radio for your TMOUS HD2.
If it has a 50 in the third set of numbers it is a TMOUS radio. Example: 2.15.50.14 notice the 50
If it has a 51 in the third set of numbers it is not a TMOUS radio.
The only exeptions to this rule are radios like this 2.04.50.xx or 2.05.50.xx they will brick your HD2.
Other then that just make sure you have at least 50% battery charge befor you start a flash and that once you start a flash do not so much as touch you HD2 or let the USB cable become disconnected some how as this might result in a bricked phone too.
Hope this helps you out.

That's a pretty old android build you're using, there... that may be why you're having problems with camera. This have progressed quickly with android... newer SD builds work great and have performance and battery life about the same as NAND builds. Try using a newer build... it will probably work a LOT better.

Quick WP7 advice

Hey guys, I got a second hand HD2 from ebay, so far i;ve been using it with android running from the SD but now i'e decidedto give wp7 a try.
the device came with MAGLDR 11.13 & WP7 7.0.7004.0 pre installed. I'm not sure which actual ROM it is.
I;ve read all the guides on updating to a newer ROM from the dev section of this forum, but im worried about nricking the device.
when I plug my phone into the Zune application to sync music, it offers me an update. I tried this update but it failed, is there any way I can update easily through Zune? or do I need to reflash a ROm such as this one.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1157535
Also, in my current situation, is it as simple as downloading the ROM & running the EXE with the phone plugged in?
I wnt a later version formnumerous reasons, mainly the lackofmauto focus in the camera z- allphotos are blurry!
SOrry for being captian n00bing, im just startiong out with WP7!
Hi,
It's not possible to update your HD2 WP7 with Zune. It's only for official WP devices.
To flash new WP rom, I advice you to begin with a Task29 (clean the phone), flash radio (2.15.... recommended), flash MAGLDR 1.13, and flash the WP rom you want.
Good luck

Thanks for the reply mate.
Task29 clears the NAND if im correct, will that remove MAGLDR too? So I'll have to reflash MAGLDR 1.13?
Can anybody provide me with a n00by-friendly link to a guide on this? The phone came with MAGLDR 1.13 so i;ve no experience with WP7! I'm an Android man!
Could you also recommend a stable day-to-day ROM? I'm not bothered about Mango (unless theres a super-stable version) so anything NoDo would be fantastic.

in some cases task29 has created some issues with Wp on the HD2
just boot in to MAGLDR, go to USB flash, connect it to your PC and then run the exe from the ROM of your choice, i would strongly recomend staying with Yukis ROM, if you have issues with it then consider SD Card flashing a stock WM ROM and starting again. HSPL>RADIO>MAGLDR>WP7
The SD card is the problem, if you get one that works, you'll be fine, there is NO compatible list of SD card!

[Sept 10] [Q] Just bought an HD2, have some questions.

Hey all, I just bought myself an HTC HD2, I've read the guide for n00bs but I still have some questions.
What are some basic Dos and Don'ts with the hd2? I want to put Android on it. I see that they can get bricked easily, which is strange coming from an HTC Espresso that is nigh impossible to brick. What are some Dos and Don'ts to avoid a brick?
Are dual boots possible?
What are the most stable Android builds?
I'm really excited to get started with this phone, thanks for reading + answering
Dual boots are possible.. But then you'd have to boot Android from the SD card. If you have a T-Mobile HD2 make sure you never flash a non T-Mobile radio. That'll brick it. Apart from that there aren't many things to brick the phone. Most stable android builds should be the CM7 one's without sense

Awesome, I'll be sure to remember that.
Sucks that the ones with sense aren't as stable, I love sense and some of the sense 3.0 roms looks mighty nice.
Al radios work on all European/International HD2's, there is no such thing a T-Mobile only radio. Just to be more persise read the following from the guide linked in my sig.

Warning to all TMOUS HD2 owners you can not flash a 2.04,50.xx, 2.05.50.xx, or any x.xx.51.xx version radio to your HD2.This includes radio ROM verision that are included in a ROM. These radio versions will brick/ KILL a TMOUS HD2!!!!!

Also never let your HD2 come unpluged or the battery die while flashing anything via USB/RUU.

[Q] Dual boot WP7 mango and android which latest sd build can i use

Dual boot WP7 mango and android from the same sd card which latest sd build can i use ?
Hey friends as mentioned in the title I just want to know out of all the amazing sd builds which one can I use to dual boot with WP7. i tried a few but all say that they are compatible to boot with WM6.5 but couldnt find a sd build capable of dual booting with WP7 and also when looking for such a ROM what are the basic things I should check please advise ( My main intention of using android would be for gaming) Awaiting your help CHEERS
You read it wrong and that is your problem. Compatible with WM6.5 doesn't mean they are incompatible to boot with WP7 or Mango.

Oops my bad thanks for the reply mate but when i try to boot several roms are giving me an error dont remember the error though will post the error as I go home thanks again, but does this mean all sd builds are compatible with dual booting Wp7
No they are not all roms compatible but only the sd roms that say in title that are for magldr.Ιn some sd roms like ics roms that are magldr compatible you can run them directly. For older roms in the rom thread it says what file you must change to make the rom to boot from magldr

2. install radio 2.15xxx
3. Magldr 1.3
After this then u can dual boot, ad nand 7.5 and ad sd for ics. search and read.
I'm on triple boot (actually dual, ICS or Froyo) using a single 16gig microSD & it's already full

With MAGLDR.
Once you have your WP7.5 installed, unlock the card (depending on the WP version, might or might not be required), insert into a card reader and create a folder in the ROOT called ICS. Then unzip and transfer your Android ICS version into that folder. Reinsert card. In MAGLDR go to Services, BootSettings, Boot source and select: 1. Android from SD, then in the same place move to 4.AD SD Dir and select ICS (which is the folder into which you transferred your Android install).
When booting you will have your WP in a first position and your Android second.

Yes, Mango is installed on Nand, so you upgrade WM6.5 to Mango first, then you get your Android to run off SD.
'mango flavored icecream'??? REALLY?
