Cause of this i can't flash any type of boot .img

I'm guessing you've already done a wipe & flash lol.
What do you mean by "...i can't flash any boot images...". Won't you be able to do that via fastboot or recovery? On my device with Swiftdroid, when I enter recovery it also comes up with the Swiftdroid logo and then quickly to recovery (when I decide to boot to recovery). Are you trying to say that the Swiftdroid logo comes with other ROMs instead of Swiftdroid itself?

It could be a problem with the recovery image. Do you get the Swiftdroid logo when booting normally?

Maybe the other ROMs take more space than Swiftdroid's boot image. How big are the other's ROMs' boot images compard to Swiftdroid boot images?

By any chance do you have ClockworkMod Recovery on your phone???
Because with this one you can try to access it and over there Wipe Dalvik Cache, do a wipe data/factory reset, and if this doesn't works to wipe cache partition.
After doing this I will look for a restore image over the web, there are tons of them, Install one of them with the ClockworkMod Recovery, and just after the first boot access once again the Recovery and do a wipe data/factory reset. I think this way you will have a phone with nothing on it just a new OS.
If you need a guide for installing ClockworkMod this is the first one I used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224747
And thanks to effortless. for this awesome guide.
Hope it works...

I am trying to change into CyanogenMod-5 for Nexus One.
I've unlocked the bootlader and installed Amon_RA's recovery image.
Also I copied the ROM to my sdcard and wiped before I tried to flash.
The trouble only appears when I have to reboot into recovery mode. When I press recovery the start up X sign appears but only to be followed by the little andriod man next to a !warning sign.
What am I doing wrong?

I think you have to hold down Volume up and power button or volume down and power button. One of these two should fix it for you.
When I do that i come to this screen
IT only says something like:
Reboot system now
apply update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
E:Can't open/cache/recovery/command
It's working EXACTLY like this for me...
Unfortunately it "should" work fine when using Fastboot, but won't work from Recovery directly via the bootload.
In other words... Try to do the "Fastboot boot recovery.img" and see if you have success... Mine works perfectly well when done this way. (Note: Use the proper file you have for the recovery image... I'm assuming you know how to properly run Fastboot?)

That looks like the original recovery, are you sure you installed the amon_ra recovery correctly??
Well I followed this guide
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_Nexus_One_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
and it did says OKAY on my PC. But I'm not really sure how it is supposed to look when it's been installed.
So I redownloaded everything a I got the phone rooted and had no problem installing the new ROM and addon. But now my Nexus one i stock doing this over and over again
Forgot to wipe berfore...
NOW IT WORKS PEFECT!

Yep, make sure you make a nandroid backup. And whenever you have a bootloop its most likely that you forgot to wipe.

No, its not you can make a backup whenever you want. In my situation I did a backup of Cyanogen 5.0.2 with all my apps and settings and another one of MoDaCos Desire rom so it basically takes me 3 minutes to switch between roms
My phone won't get passed the t-mobile mytouch 4g screen. This happened after I backed up my stock rom using rom manager and did a full wipe to start clean ut no after I went back and restored my backup, my phone is stuck on the mytouch screen and won't get pass that. Is my phone bricked? or can it be saved? can someone pls help me? I just got this phone yesterday and rooted it with no problem. All I did after the root was add a custom kernel. Everything was going great until I restored my backup. Pls help. Thanks in advance.
try going into the bootloader. press power& the volume down button at the same time. then let it load, select the option to boot into recovery. once u do that wipe all cache, data, and restore the backup u made. but if it doesn't boot up again then it might be a defective backup. might have to start fresh with flashing a new rom. but keep trying once u boot into the phone tho. goodluck!
I tried that and still not working. Is there away I can get a stock rom to flash?

Use Fastboot. It is like adb, but only uses the bootloader on the phone. If you don't have the SDK installed, you can get adb and Fastboot from TrueBlue_Drew's thread in the dev subforum.

Is there an official update.zip I can probably apply through the stock recovery?
Thanks Jaylito and Jggimi for your help, was able to get into cwm recovery and flash a new rom. It looks like I had a bad backup. Thanks again to you both.
I had CM7 installed on my phone, and then i proceeded to update to the beta 2. I downloaded the file, then unpacked it on my phone sdcard then proceeded to reboot in recovery mode and cleared cache , dalvik, factory settings and then updated the zip file. then clear everything again and reboot. Get stuck on dual core logo.
I can still access recovery and mount usb to add files. can anyone tell me how to fix this?
did you make a backup before installing the beta?
It seems like you've never installed a ROM before, so I would advise you to read before you try again.
Try and restore it from the 1.8.3 SBF or restore from the CM7 pre-beta2.zip.
Don't unpack the zip file.
Oh and I feel obligated to ask, but did you install romracer's recovery?
I have Tenfar's recovery. Does it matter?
When you say restore, do you mean going in recovery mode and then apply the beta-update2.zip?
I also beleive my recovery got updated to Clockwork's when I had CM7 beta installed?
I have read another post on here that suggest I should RSD flash the 1.8.3 SDF and just start anew.
Should I do that? I was on 1.8.3 prior to installing CM7 beta
I understand I probably come across as a complete noob, but I did read before I did anything.
And now this happened and I just need help fixing it, you can just say. Yes flash back to 1.8.3 with RSD, I don't need a dot point instruction on how to do that.
Now my recovery is "ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.1.4" even tough i originally flashed Tenfar's
and my phone is unlocked.
I have tried many times to clear all caches and update the beta zip again and it does not work, I just get stuck on dual core logo again.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Redownload beta 2 again (I've had problems related to bum d/l's). Install romracers recovery. Wipe. Reinstall.
If that fails use fastboot -w to wipe and reinstall.

Legend, thanks a lot now I can go back to sleep.
I installed romancer's recovery (unlike tenfar's it took like 5 times longer to clear cache and install the rom) but it did work.
thanks for taking the time man.
I think that you forgot to wipe cache and Dalvik cache from within CWM.
For me that did the trick ...

No I had wiped dalvik and cache prior and after update.
Either beta 2 doesn't like tenfars recovery or it was an issue with the download . Since I installed romancers recovery before I tried the new download we will never know

Why use tenfar's recovery when you can use CWM real recovery now.
That might help a lot...
im having the same problem but i used romracers recovery in the first place. ive tried everything and i tried to restore my alien backup but the recovery cant find it... did prebeta1 change the directory? im lost.

Hey folks
Tried to flash this boot.img from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018822&highlight=boot+img
to flash JB ROM and it has stucked on 'Free Xperia' logo when turning on. Had to flash stock kernel back. This .img is necessary for flashing the rom according to steps manual.
Any help please why this could happen?
Cheers!
Look for a more stable ROM that ROM is still in the Alpha stages. There are many on here

First time installing CyanogenMod 10.1 to Arc/S another ROM:
- Make sure you're running bootloaders unlocked
-Flash the Boot.img provided (Don't flash other boot.img because is different)
- Copy GApps and CM10.1 ZIPs to your internal SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM10.1 zip from internal SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from internal SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!

Try in this order, flash the kernel, reboot into CMW, wipe cache, data and battery, install ROM, reboot, flash gapps and reboot again.

To enter CWM, you need to press the power button, when phone vibrates, press Volume Down button many times until a Recovery menu appears.
Only possible if you have custom kernel installed (if it has one).
Hi,
I tried out ubuntu touch and wanted to revert to stock before flashing cm (because I havn't had a rom on my storage).
After flashing the stock image via fastboot (using that flash-all.sh included in official download) my nexus stucks at boot animation.
Then I flashed recovery (I tried both, CWM and TWRP) and tried to do a factory reset -> unable to mount internal storage, also the space of my internal storage was 0MB (obviously because it can't mount anything), so it exited with an error. Then I formatted just every partion in CWM and I was able to mount again, flashed stock image ... stuck at boot animation. Tried flashing cm via sideload... stuck at boot animation.
Google didn't helped me.
Does somebody know what to do now?
Thanks
Bagbag

you should only have to clear the cache...factory reset shouldn't be necessary. Remember if you do have to do a factory reset, it will wipe all your storage completely if you use stock recovery to do it. Don't forget to back everything up first!

I already made backups, but anyway, they wouldn't help me in any way, if I don't have a working phone..

Boot into fastboot mode. Then from your pc with your device hooked up via usb type fastboot boot recovery. See if that will get you into recovery

It says 'cannot load 'recovery'' and also, I tried flashing ubuntu touch again and it worked.
Edit:
I think it has something to do with my /data partition. It said unable to mount /data again. After fixing that (for some reason it works if I select "format /data and /data/media (/sdcard)" (CWM) I can also format /data. But there a difference between that an all other partitions: for every other partition its like that: mount -> format -> unmount, but for /data it just don't do the last step, it stays mounted.
No on an idea? Do I need to send it in?
Try downloading The Root Toolkit Here.
Connect your phone, open the toolkit. On The First Page select "Soft-Bricked/Bootloop" and Flash Stock+Unroot.
This should Help.
Yeeeeeeey, I have no idea what the tool did, but it works now
Thank you for the tip
