Most likely no... Did you format the phone when you had the microSD card in?

I haven't tested this, but I think once the microSD card is added and phone restarted, the card is considered part of the OS. Probably that's why it asks for it. Problem is, you could try adding another one, but I doubt it's going to work since it's encrypted...
Without the original card, your best bet is either MS or Samsung...

sd card keeps unmounting from the g1

I don't know why, but at least once a day my sd card unmounts from my g1. I can't see pictures, use the camera, listen to music, and whatever else requires an sdcard. It's fine when its connected to my PC, it never unmounts itself.
Ive search google, this forum, and other android forums but came up with nothing. Only found other people with the same problem but no solution.
Its really starting to bug me and I'm not sure if its my sd card or my g1, any help would be appreciated..
i have rooted rc33 with jf1.41 with release-keys (watever that means)... this was happening before and after i installed jf1.41 with root.
sometimes it comes back if i take the sdcard and put it back in, but other times im forced to reboot. ive also had a few pictures got deleted by themselves, sounds like a fault in the sd card right?
thanks in advance
mario
I would backup whatever is on your sd card. Then format it, fat32. See if that fixes it. If not call up Tmobile and see if they send a replacement.
Ensure the cover is all the way flush, this happened to me and I had to rub the cover from the bottom up to make it sit flush. If it is not completely closed, it will think you pulled it open and unmount the drive.
its already frmatted n fat32, but ill try again..
for the cover, ur talkin about the plastic thing that goes over te sd port right? that has a sensor?

I had the same problem so I opened the cover and closed it. Voila my card showed up again. I hope its not a continuing problem, but it sure beats trying the get the card out and putting it back in.

Stupid SD Card.

My sd card is saying Blank SD card. Sd card blank or has unsupported filesystem. I tried to reformat on phone but still nothing. Any ideas?

have you tried removing and putting into a computer to see if you can access it?
if that doesnt work then somehow it got corrupted or it went bad.
Yup the computer doesn't recognize anything at all. I put it into a camera and it says need to be formatted so I do so and it just stays on a screen saying Formatting. IDK whats going on with the stupid thing. Sent HTC a email and maybe they might send me one or something. Who knows it's a shot.

Sounds like its dead. I would just pick up a new one. You can get a 16gb class 6+ for under $30 online.
I love HTC so much! Sent an email out last night, got one back today and they are going to send a new one. Just have to send old one back. Hopefully they wont see my custom roms on there lol. Any ways HTC saves the day once again and I get a good ol 8gb card back.

i would still buy another. there 8GB is straight up Class 2. Barely writes over 2MB/sec. You can buy a class 6 8GB card for less than $15.00 on Newegg shipped.

Samsung Focus, missing SD Card

There is 8GB internal, if I wanted to remove the card I put in, I just need to remove it and Windows Phone will go to the internal storage?
There is 8GB internal flash memory. The MicroSD card is optional.
I thought it was something like that. It did just need time to charge.
If I was to say have put in any old card, and I wanted to remove said card, I can turn it off remove and re-format?
All fixed. Sorry. I clearly didn't get enough sleep and therefore am unable to think for myself.

You can reformat the phone but the card is another story. Search around here for explanation but basically it formats and passwords the card to where only a few devices can reformat it.

32gb micro sandisk not mounting ??

hi,just tried my new 32gb sandisk & it wont stay on,i plugged it in & it says i can safely remove & when i mount it it appears as 29gb and then vanishes again, ive erased the card but still wont stay & also restarted phone ??? any ideas ? is the card a duff ?
bloody hell now my old card is doing the samething & all my data, music & videos etc are not showing ?
none of my cards will stay mounted & ive factory reset also, they just appear & disappear 16gb & my new 32gb sandisk ?
notification keeps coming up to safely remove sd card
There is a little switch that clicks down when you put the back down. Be sure the back cover of your phone is all the way one or it won’t mount.
Also once you change cards your old card will not work in your phone again (data wise).
The phone seems to marry to the card then forget the old card. I learned that the hard way when I put a smaller card in while I rooted my phone (all I did was format the other card at that point). Then I put my main card back in all my games had to be reinstalled.
You can copy all the data files from one card to the other and the phone will recognize both properly

Not that I know of. Like I said it forgot my SD after putting a new one in and formatting it. So i'm guessing one at a time.

Ah, it's actually more convenient because it allows you to change sd cards without restarting your phone.

Same, had the same issues at first, and this was the solution.
That feature is there so hotswapping your memory card won't cause data corruption.

[Q] HELP problems writing in micro SD S4

Hi my problem is, I was transferring some videos from my desktop to my S4 micro SD, it suddenly threw an writing error, a few seconds later I unplug my phone from the usb and then plug it again, I was able to copy the files.
Everything was okay until I restarted my phone, the videos were gone. And now doesn´t matter if I write or delete something from the SD card every time that I restart my phone or remove the SD it returns to what it was.
This is my 2nd 64GB micro SD having this problem the first one was with my Samsung Note 10 2014, but was exactly in the same way.
I need to know if it can be fixed and how or do I need a new SD card.
I can think of a couple of possible causes.
I'm wondering if you might have a fake microSD card. In other words, looks like 64GB, but is really only 32, or maybe 16 GB, or something else. Think where did you buy the card. If you bought on line especially, this could be the case. You can get software that will check it.
If the card really is 64GB, then maybe you can try reformatting it to see if that corrects the problem.

No, it's an original card I bought both about a year ago everything was working fine until a few days ago... I think this is a very rare issue so I'm going to copy all content to my pc and destroy the SD. But thanks for your answer

Memory cards corrupt because you copy large files at a time which cause fault in memory card internal circuits...Copy data at some intervals give it break dont try to fill 64gb at a time..
