is there a way to tweak the registry to make the appearance of Recently opened Program list in portrait mode (= it's a list in the start menu) to be the same as in landscape mode (=icons on top of the start menu) ??
thks
One side-effect of this latest Dopod-gps-rom is that ClearType is disabled, and there's no control panel applet for it.
I have set the correct registry values to enable it nonetheless, but it gets disabled again after soft-reset.
Is there any way to permanently enable cleartype, or to stop the soft-reset changing these values? Where do I start to look, extended rom?
thanks!
Edit:
* Solved: I was looking for ClearType applet, but this setting is also in Settings|System|Screen|ClearType
* Solved also for Landscape modus: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15688
Make sure you made the change to the following registry key
\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell
Change the value for NoClearType from 1 to 0.
This unlocks the ClearType option.
You may then go to Today->Settings->System->Screen. Now the ClearType tab is shown and you can enable it there.
Hi Guys,
I was just wondering which registry key I can modify to disable the camera capture mode and set the 'Still Camera' as the default for the camera application in the Hermes device.
Or, if there is no registry key to do it, what would be the best way to do it?
One of the requirement that my client requires is to prevent changing the camera mode to something else.
Kind Regards,
Andie
I just got my D2 yesterday and very happy with it. However, I can't find a GPS photo function when using CAMERA function.... Dose anyone know that D2 have GPS photo function? or it need a other program to do it?
Yes you can, you need to download a copy of diamond tweak (well thats what i used) and in sectio 11 (camera section) you can enable gps photo aswell as sport mode etc.
Hope this helps
Whats sport mode?
Hi! We need to install the Diamond tweak or the HD tweak?
Diamond 2 is more close to an HD than the old Diamond so I ask it!

Registry key for those that want it...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P10 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
More camera modes...
To Enable 'Burst': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P6 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
To Enable 'Sport': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P8 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
To Enable 'Video Share': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P9 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
When you enable Geotagging pictures won't get saved..
They show up in Camera Shots but not under File Explorer..
EDIT:
My Bad it makes a folder called My POI under My Documents on my Storage Card..

what is sport mode? thanks
burst mode: (keep holding "shoot button" on the screen and it keeps taking photos) and sport mode (automatically shoots 5 back to back frames). the real question is: What are their usefulness?

are these modes switchable? I mean when I will enable both options in registry, does it mean I will always make 5 pictures? thanks alot.
Maybe I should try it, right? one try better than thousands words...
Geo tagged photos
enabled GPS in camera and found where photos get saved, eventually!
Question is, my Omnia used to give a logtitude and latitude reading in the photo's "properties" can't see anything to indicate that geo tagging has actually taken place. Will never use it but if it's supposed to work I want it to work.
Enabling geotagging using locr GPS Photo
Editing the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P10 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1
did not work on my T-Mobile MDA Compact V (=HTC Diamond 2=Topaz), but I discovered a very easy way to enable geotagging. I installed locr GPS Photo
for Windows Mobile 1.0.1 see: http://nl.locr.com/
You can use this program to take geo tagged photo's, but the resolution then is reduced. When you use the original camera software of your phone, without closing locr GPS Photo, GPS is still active and you can make geo tagged photos with the full resolution and other all other possible settings.
Have fun!
Nice workaround you found H A D ! But this means that HTC gps photo has a bug or what? I confirm that GPS coordinates do not come with the taken picture Properties, are they so hidden or simply not there?
EDIT:I'm reading that a PC software is necessary to view coordinates, they don't seem to be available simply in the Properties, that's too bad, i thought it would be automatic.
When you take photos with GPS on, the Lat/Lon is saved on the EXIF tag of your photos. You will need an EXIF reader/editor in order to see this info. I don't know if there's an EXIF Reader/Editor application for WM, but there are a lot (free) applications for Windows floating around the net.
This is not an issue with WM or HTC Album. This has been pretty much the same from the beginning with "GPS Photos"
I even believe that that's the reason "GPS Photos" are not officially supported and you need to tweak your registry in order to capture them.
BTW: I have taken hundreds of photos with GPS with my previous phone (Polaris) and I never had an issue with them. I just used an EXIF reader to see the LAT/LON (among with other very useful information)
GeoTagging HTC Topaz photo's
I don't why HTC disabled geotagging, but I am pretty certain they did. There are several programs able to read EXIF-files. (I am using a Mac. Even Preview shows EXIF-data.) Photo's taken with Camera, without locr GPS Photo being active do not show GPS-data, but Photo's taken with Camera, with locr GPS Photo being active show them.
On some Diamond 2 devices (ROM?) use
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P10 -> change the value "enable" (NO "enableD" !!) from 0 to 1
So you can use GPS Photo without any other software in background.
Has anyone found a decent (free) picture editor for the hd2? I really miss the simple samsung crop / rotate / colour balance prog that was in my omnia.
Also is there anyway i can just rotate pictures while viewing them in sense? I have tried the obvious rotating motions with no luck.
Thanks
Hi...you dont need to get any software for that you just need to go into Multimedia and select Pictures & Videos. Now from here navigate to the photo you wish to edit and open it (it could be in a folder). Press Menu and press Edit. Now press Rotate in the bottom left-hand corner. Once you've change the orientation you can save this change..
Enjoy your life with your HTC-HD2
