Widget causes Sense to crash.. - Desire HD General

On one of my screens i have widget which today started crashing Sense..
What i mean is everytime i switch to that screen sense crashes...
On that screen i have:
- Power Amp Widget
- Battery Monitor Widget
- Android Assistant Quick Boost Widget
- HTC Sync All Widget
- Power Controll Widget
How to remove a widget without going on to that screen..
You will probably say "uninstall that wigget/app" but what if it is HTC Sync All Widget (only one i can see on all screens preview (Home button))

Could create another blank screen and work through adding each widget until you get an issue. Once identified you can work out how to fix the problem

Ill have to use one of my other screens as cant add extra one on ARHD (i think)

None of them on new screen causes Sense to crash... :/
Uninstalled everything except Power Controll and Sync All as I cant nothing changed...
Now I only hope my yesterdays backup will work..

Had to restore backup...

Message widget causes lag on homescreen

Hi.
I don't know if it's only my DHD.
I have htc message widget (black one, not the white one that looks like post-it note) on one of the home screens.
Ever so often when I swipe through home screens that widget is refreshing names and phone numbers that are in the widget (if you have john smith it will delete the name show his number instead and place name back) and when you swipe further to the next screen it lags for few seconds.
Problem is the more messages i have the more it lags
Debugging is not helping and turning fast boot of doesn't change anything either
Unless someone knows a replacement widget to be placed on home screen

Good to know you're getting this problem too Matt, as far as I'm aware it's just that the htc widgets are pants. Which is a shame, because I think they look good and are easy to use.
I use the large message, mail and calender widgets and each of them take between 1-3 seconds to refresh. I've even tried to turn off refresh on open where possible just incase, and even disabled mobile data and wifi and it's the same.
The Facebook and Twitter Android widgets work fine, they're already updated before flicking to their screen, which is what is expected from the htc widgets.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a fix? Is there a setting I'm missing?
I think the answer may be live with it or get another widget, which would be a shame.
All suggestions are helpful

Second that statement, it's usually not something wrong with your phone/your widget version. I've noticed most HTC widgets do end up lagging there are plenty of third party widgets though that do it better.
When I get my phone back on I'll give you the name of a couple I use.
All HTC widget are lags. Maybe they need to free up some memory everytime its not under user's sight so that other apps can run faster with more memory....then it will need to refresh again...
yup, it suxx everytime i swipe to that corner of my homescreen.. omfg its coming! lol actualy the first time i flash/mod my dhd i was expecting it to be smoothen, but ugh..fat chance it really feels like im still at stock rom

Widgets shrink in size on Home Screen!!!

Hi guys
Anyone else noticed this on their S2...?
When i set the digital clock with the date as a main widget on home screen, sometimes, if i reboot or load a video, play it and come back to the home screen, the widget shrinks in size slighty and removes the date.
This is the same when i use a beautiful widget clock/weather widget as well...
Not sure what i am doing wrong...
Any help guys?
Cheers
Merb
Yeah i have noticed this too. Don't know what causes this. What firmware are you on?
Does it happen with the stock time widget as well?
I have the Go Launcher Weather widget and it does this shrinking job sometimes after I exit apps. I thought it was a problem with the widget!
I'm on stock O2 ROM version: KE2

[Q] Cannot delete broken/ghost widget on homescreen

Hey, everyone,
I just developed a problem on my Evo Shift that's driving me nuts: when I go to my homescreen from my lockscreen, the weather portion of the HTC Sense clock widget (shining Sun in this instance) shows up on top of everything, then disappears after a few seconds. I've tried grabbing it to delete it, but once I touch the screen, the Sun/widget disappears and I'm taken either to an app I touch or to the Personalize screen. I'm not rooted and running Sense. My homescreen has no widgets on it, only apps. I've tried changing the scene and the skin, but to no avail. I've also tried to delete data on HTC Sense via Manage Applications, but again, no luck.
I've searched through the forums here and while a few have posted about broken widgets, none seem to address this particular problem (part of a widget appearing on top of everything else). I'm at a total loss here.
Thanks.
That's not a widget, that sounds like you are describing the weather animations that is part of sense. I do believe there is an option to turn off the weather animations, but not 100% sure as I mainly use aosp not sense.

On some versions of Sense (not sure if this applies to Froyo), you are given the option to enable/disable the weather animation when you add the clock widget.
Delete the clock widget, re-add it, and see if you have the animation option.
Go to settings, then display and in there you can disable all animations if you want
Thanks for the replies, guys. I tried all those and nothing worked. But on another forum, I found the answer:
I have LockerWidget installed. In its settings under "Look & Feel," there's a setting called "HTC Weather Animations." If you set that to "Disabled," the annoying animations stop.
Again, thanks for the quick replies and offers of help.

[Q] Can no longer access clock widgets or modify wallpaper

I recently noticed that the widget I was using on my homescreen wasn't responding Digital Clock Widget and would no longer take me directly to the alarm when pressed. I checked and it was still set up for that in the settings so I tried to remove the widget and put a new one up but to no avail. I tried restoring it with Titanium but no joy as well as uninstalling and starting from scratch. But when I installed it again, this time I couldn't see the app's widgets in the app drawer.
I've tried another clock app and can't see the widget for that either. I had a go at long pressing a blank area on the homescreen but the only option it gave was to change the wallpaper. I had a play with that and changed the wallpaper I'd set up from one of my photo's but when I went to put that back on, that doesn't work either. I'm stumped!
ROM - NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.7 [Nand]
Kernel - tytung_HWA_r3.4
Launcher - stock Trebuchet
Thanks for any pointers guys - sorry if this has a rather obvious answer but I've tried everything I could and am very new and rather tentative when it comes to the whole modding thing!

Apps installation on another home screen.

Hey All,
I have Nova Launcher installed on my Nexus 10 (4.2.2) and I've just got my home screen looking the way I want it with a few widgets, I like informational widgets on my center screen (weather, clock, email etc) social stuff (facebook etc) on my left screen and my apps on the right screens. However when I install an app it always ends up on the center screen, and I have to move it every time. Does anybody know how I can make app shortcuts appear on the screen to the right?
I know it's a small annoyance, but it does drive my crazy
I also use Nova Launcher and the same thing happens. I suspect that this is more of a "feature" than a bug as you always know where a newly installed app icon will be (centre screen). I have a few screens where I could easily loose a new app behind a widget that covers a large part of the screen such as a weather widget.
